Birthday card
Starting to build up my supply of birthday cards to use throughout the year. I got to use all scraps on this card, even the background pink, was left from a project yesterday. I love when I get to use up scraps.
For this card I used sketch E55 from "ALWAYS PLAYING WITH PAPER" I like banners on cards for placement of my sentiment and this one was perfect. Check out the details HERE.
You have until Sunday Jan. 10th at noon to enter.
A Winter Card
No real snow here today, just grey and rainy but its in the forecast so I decided to make this winter card. Will probably send this to my Dad with a note in it.
Check out the challenge at 'SKETCH - N - SCRAP" for card challenge #65. I didn't use the sketch I was just inspired by the snowflakes and snowman on the card sketch and this is what I created.
I am also entering this card at "CURTAIN CALL INSPIRATION"
The January 1st challenge is "Frozen" and this card is perfect for this challenge also.
I hope you will click on both links above to check out the details.

Deer Snow Days
I love the beginning of a new month and I can check out the combination challenge of three scrappy friends and then even better when I check them all out and an idea comes together for all three of them. Good times to make one layout with a chance for four prizes. For this when I saw the mood board I thought of all the pictures I had just taken a week before during our first snow here in Kansas City and that we had a deer right outside our family room window snacking on the shrubs. He had first been in front of the house outside my scrap room and eating on the holly bushes, but I have screens and blinds on that window and couldn't get a good picture. Luckily my husband called me when he saw them out the back window, so I could get these fun pictures. So used deer and snowflakes from the mood board, the snowflakes on my brads on the tags and the two embellies of snowflakes, one is crocheted and one was a big plastic snowflake. It all went great with the picture I had taken earlier of the beginning of the snow out the front door. I was able to crop the pictures that I had to fit well for the sketch and even had a couple I didn't use. Then for the this and that challenge I chose ribbon and put that on the two tags on the layout.
Click on all the links below to get all the details and see what the awesome prizes are also.
First we have Rochelle Spears challenge at "THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS"
and this month it is "This & That" (Ribbon)
Next I check out Brenda Ragsdale's sketch at "GRAND DIVA'S SCRAPPY PLACE"
(I followed the sketch just moved a few things around)
And finally to see what Kelly has for her challenge at "CREATING WITH PAPER & MORE"
this month she has a mood board. (Deer and snowflakes)
Skating Flamingo
This layout was inspired so many different ways. The flamingo shirt, made me immediately think of my online scrappy friend Sandi who loves everything Flamingos, the "love" stamp that was sitting out on my desk when I started the layout. I love my granddaughter. Then challenge #274 at
"LASTING MEMORIES" 'Time for NEW beginnings' My granddaughter wanted roller blades for Christmas, she didn't want to be left out from the older boys and her brother in the neighborhood when they took off on their roller blades. So here she is in her "NEW" rollerblades, Christmas afternoon and ready to take on the world. They live in Texas so no bulky cold weather coats to slow her down. :)
Here is the prompt: Our theme for January is "New Beginnings" and this weeks challenge is to

Personalized Birthday Card.
When I saw the challenge at "THE PAPER PLAYERS" I knew I would make a birthday card for my Grandson who is turning 4 on the 7th. I need to get it in the mail today, he just lives across the state so hopefully will get there on time.
The challenge is this......
I had seen this card design and thought it would be perfect for a little boy's b'day so used up a variety of alpha stickers. Wanted to have his name below the Happy Birthday but not enough of these alphas so found something different and added it to the balloon and then used a larger Thicker number for the #4 to have it stand out.

Year End Recap for 2015 PL style
Then I decided to do 2 another front back 4x6 page just with some other highlights of the year.
Selling one family car and buying a retirement convertible, the birth of my one and only great nephew, my brothers first grandchild, Being in Vegas with in-laws for and early birthday celebration, an awesome hot air balloon ride Easter morning in Albuquerque, NM on our way home from road trip. then 3 pictures of fun places we visited for the first time in Kansas City are during the year.

I had been hoarding this big camera diecut for ages, finally decided this was where to use it with my recap pictures. We got to go to a Royals game in July with my daughter and son-in-law and his parents visiting from NY, then I also talk about winning the World Series. An afternoon at the Rochefort Bluff Top Winery listening to my brothers band play and a surprise reunion seeing old hometown friends there too. The whole group at a MN Twins baseball game, part of the surprise for my dad during our family road trip. Then a food picture of a great meal on our NY trip just to journal about great meals out in town and out. Then ending with my "The End" card.
Thanks for taking this 2015 recap with me. Now on to New Year.

Another Thank You card.
It's thank you card making day for me. This is the 2nd one I've made today. This card I made to send to my Dad to Thank him for the Christmas gifts he gave us. He always gives us Kohls gift cards so happy shopping time for him. So far I bought one sweater and my husband ordered 4 shirts online and we still have spending to do. Thank you Dad.
I'm entering two challenges also with this card. First off I used the sketch #217 at
"FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES" It looks like I still can't pull myself away from Christmas colors since I chose red and green for this one. Oh well, habits are hard to break after all the cards from last month. You can check out the sketch below. I almost didn't make this challenge as it ends tomorrow at Noon.
Then the new challenge at "JUST US GIRLS" is Word Week #324 and the work is "Thank You"
Perfect timing for this card. You have till 9:00 EST January 7th for this challenge. You can enter up to 3 cards for this challenge. This is the 2nd thank you card I am entering there.
