I'm really having so much fun going back to old pictures from road trips with my daughter.
I made my album soon after all the trips ended but now I'm putting together one album combining all trips we got to take together as an adult.   I'm going to surprise here at Christmas with this album of a combination of about 5 trips we took together.

For this layout I'll be entering it at the challenge at  "SOUL-SCRAPPERS"   Challenge  E2N27

The Badlands

I'm making a Christmas gift album for my daughter with layouts of all the fun trips we took during her adult life before getting married.   They were mostly trips with me, her grandfather and her uncle
and my husband.   After my Mom died we took Dad on a lot of trips as he had been moms 24/7 caregiver for the last 7 years.    This trip was in October 2006 a road trip we all took together to South Dakota and the Mount Rushmore area.   Our first big stop was in the Badlands National Park.    I remember this day so well as it was cold and super windy, so we were all bundled up.   I'm really enjoying this project.   I'll have layouts from a trip she took to Australia, this road trip to Mount Rushmore, a road trip to D.C. and trip to London to visit her while she was in school at Oxford and then another road trip to Minnesota where we took many little off the wall side trips.

I'm going to enter this layout in the last challenge for July at   "LASTING MEMORIES"
That is the link above and here is the info about the challenge.

LM #456 - Patriotism - Celebrate Your Country

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a good weekend and keeping cool - if you're like me and in the middle of this heatwave!

I can't believe that it is already time for our last challenge of the month! Before we get to that, I want to send a big thank you to our guest designers for this month. I have really enjoyed seeing Brenda's and Wendy's creations each and every week. Thank you both for joining us in July!

Now for our last challenge of the month.

Our theme for  July is "Patriotism" and all of our challenges will be patriotic in some way.

LM #456 - Create a layout celebrating your country.

This can be just about anything - a celebration - your favorite place to visit, whatever you love about your country.

Girl Power

I'm entering this layout in two challenges.  The Tic-Tac-Toe challenge #145 at "SCRAPPING 4 FUN"     I always love playing with a tic-tac-toe board, so many options to go with.
I chose the middle row down,  Ribbon, Patterned Paper, Dots

Here is the board and link to the challenge at  "SCRAPPING 4 FUN CHALLENGES"

*********************************************************

I really loved the new sketch #382 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"    I have so many pictures of all the Greenberg cousins together here at the lake earlier this month that I need to scrap.   For this one I just used two pictures of the 3 girl cousins.     Addisyn's Mom bought these dresses for all 3 girls to wear for pictures one day.

I used a combination of papers from 3 different collections for this layout plus some ribbon to match the colors of the dress across the top.

Under the Stars

It's been fun making July 4th layouts this year.  Usually we don't do a lot over the 4th but this year with company in town we did a lot more.    After our big dinner all together here we went down to dock to the NY fireworks on the TV down there, then we just watched our sunset, not as brilliant as other nights but still fun to just sit there and watch the sun go down.   Then after it was dare we were
able to see fireworks from at least 6 different directions from the dock.   The biggest and best for us was by neighbors across the side cove from us.   Fantastic fireworks and lasted well over an hour.

I'm using the layout for the "LASTING MEMORIES"  challenge #455

LM #455 - Patriotism - Your Country's Flag

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Lasting Memories!

Are you ready for a new challenge? It's time for our third challenge of the month. As a reminder, our theme for  July is "Patriotism" and all of our challenges will be patriotic in some way. This week's challenge is:

LM #455 - Create a layout with your country's flag somewhere on the layout. This can be on the papers, in the photos, or in the embellishment.

You can see our flag flying from our dock,  in the 3x4 card and then on one of the flair buttons.

Celebrate

Forgot to get pictures while we had everything cooking or after everyone was seated, but at least I got a couple of pictures of the food on the table and our July 4th themed plates and napkins on the table for everyone.   We had 9 of us for our cookout dinner.   5 adults and 4 grandkids.   So much fun and an assortment of food for everyones favorites.  Brisket for most was requested,  hubby and son wanted pastrami and then at last minute had to microwave some chicken nuggets for a couple of picky kids but it all worked out well.   With just enough leftovers for two sandwiches the next day.

I am entering this in two different challenges.

"SCRAP OUR STASH"  -- Saturday Cartoon Sketch Challenge   I used the sketch and was inspired by the patriotic them of the cartoon Micky.   You had to add arrows and I added 4 fussy cut arrows to my layout.

The 2nd challenge I'm entering is at   "LASTING MEMORIES" -- Challenge #453 is Patriotism - Red & White.

LM #453 - Patriotism - Red & White

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are having a good weekend. We are officially on vacation and that feels great!

I can't believe that tomorrow is July 1st and that means it's time for a new theme and new set of challenges. Our theme and challenges for July are courtesy of DT Sandy.

Our theme for is "Patriotism" and all of our challenges will be patriotic in some way.

LM #453 - In Canada, July 1st is our nation's birthday. To celebrate that create a Red & White layout.

Your layout can be any theme - just use the colors red and white predominantly on your layout

Catch that Fish

My granddaughter Mylan is just like her Dad and she loves to go fishing with him and even hunting.
This day out on the water she had the biggest catch of the day.

I am entering this layout at  "SCRAP OUR STASH CHALLENGE BLOG"  for their July 'Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge"      I picked the left side to use for my layout and for the challenge you also had to use wood veneer on your layouts.   I had a wood veneer piece I used for my title   "Wild + Free" which is perfect description of my granddaughter and then I used another piece of wood veneer that said Adventurer on it as an embellishment by my tag.   For the circle I just fussy cut around a doily and just used the outer edge and then I also fussy cut a fish from some patterned paper as another embellishment and used a border punch on the strip of green patterned paper, I also inked it some with green ink to give it a more outdoor look.   My background paper is from Echo Park Summer Adventure collection.

Here is the link to the challenge at  "SCRAP OUR STASH"  and the pick your side sketch below.

Crazy Attitude

When I saw these pictures of my granddaughter I just laughed outloud.   She has some sass and some attitude in these.    I used sketch #180 from "SKETCH N SCRAP"  as it was perfect for these two
pictures.   I got so lucky when I was looking through some die-cuts and ephermia and found this tag with the sunglasses.  It was perfect to fit on the sketch.

Here is the link to "SKETCH N SCRAP"  and be sure and check out the 2 layout sketches and the 2 card sketches for each month here.

Cooking Together

Sunday afternoon was cooking with Dad.   First they made fresh egg noodles together for company dinner the next night, which including myself and Uncle Bruce.   Along with the awesome homemade egg noodles Jason grilled salmon and fresh asparagus.   It was absolutely a delicious dinner plus Elle kept telling me she made the noodles by saying "my noodles, my noodles"

Jason, my son-in-law, is an awesome cook and baker and is so patient with Elle letting her help and teach her all he is doing.

I used the sketch #181 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout and just replaced the once smaller place for a picture with 3x4  cut apart card from some patterned paper.

Here is the link to the challenges for the month at  "SKETCH N SCRAP" and the sketch I used.

Family

This was a fun layout to make and  I'll be using this torn paper look for a background again.
I got the idea from the sketch on July 1st at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  Challenge #379
I have this stack of paper called watercolor and that is what I used on the torn paper.

Here is the link to the challenge at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"   check this one out and each one during the month of July.

Luna and Noah

Luna is a rescue dog my son and family stopped and rescued in Southern Missouri on their way home to Texas last summer.    They had been wanted to adopt a dog and had been looking.   They made a gas stop on the drive home and saw a sign for a shelter next door and decided to take a break from driving and go look and they found Luna and feel in love.    So Luna went home with them.   They have had her just short of a year now.

I used the sketch at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  for this and it worked out great.

Together in the country

My son has some land he leases out in the country in Texas about an hour from where they live in Ft. Worth.  He keeps an RV out there and it is a rare weekend he isn't out their either on his own or with his kids or the whole extended family.    Out riding around in the jeep, or in the creek cooling off or hunting with a rifle or bow and arrow and some fishing too.    They do it all.    This picture my granddaughter took of her Dad and his girlfriend while they had a long extended weekend out in the country over the July 4th weekend.   I just love this picture so had to get it scrapped right away.

I will be entering it in the challenge #366 at   "USE YOUR STUFF"   I used two butterflies on my layout to go with the challenge.

Challenge #366: Birds, Bees, or Butterflies

Welcome to this week's challenge at Use Your Stuff.  This week, we are challenging you to create a project that uses one or all of the 3 b's; birds, bees or butterflies.  These are a few projects our DT created for this theme:

July 4th 2019 Texas Style

I got these pictures of my son and family in Texas.   They were out camping and hunting and fishing for the long weekend.    They posted a bunch of pictures on FB and I printed these to make a July 4th layout for their album.

I'm entering this at   "LASTING MEMORIES"   and their second challenge for July.

CIJ card

I always celebrate Christmas in July by getting the vast majority of my  Christmas cards made in July.

For this card I fussy cut the poinsettias from a piece of patterned paper and these pop-dots under them to set them up from the wood grain background paper I chose.  I added a clear sticker that said NOEL for my sentiment and then three 3 red gems.   I usually forget to use pop-dots to give my projects some dimension but I'm really glad I remembered for this card.

I'm going to enter this at   "SOUL-SCRAPPERS"  for their card challenge #CC73 to use flowers on your card.

Here is the link to the challenge at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"  and more information.
