It's My Birthday fun

I did it, I got all the "LASTING MEMORIES"  Challenges done for the month.    The themes were all patterns so it was fun to use them all.    Starting with Polka Dots, Stripes, Florals, Plaids and finally this last weeks challenge Chevron.

I've had these pictures printed for awhile now and never got around to scrapping them.    They are from my Granddaughter Dylan's 3rd birthday.   She wanted to go to Build a Bear and she and here sister both made their own bears.    I've had this tear bear in my stash for probably 7 years now so I was glad I got to use it on this layout.   It worked out perfect here.

Join in the fun at "LASTING MEMORIES"   still a few days left to play along.

It's Fall

No fall pictures yet for this year, but I still had a few from last year I wanted to get scrapped to get me in the mood for the season.

I'm entering this layout at   "LASTING MEMORIES"   for the challenge #362 - Plaids

I loved this plaid paper with the fall colors so glad I got to use it.

Check out the challenge and join in before the month is over.

Autumn card

I am entering this Autumn card into two different challenges.
First is "BITTEN BY THE BUG 2"    - Their challenge is to use a cricut cartridge cut on your project and having the theme - Autumn.    I cut the tree,  and the word Autumn.

Next I'm entering Challenge #136 - Harvest at  "THE PAPER GIRL CHALLENGE"
You can enter up to 3 projects there per challenge and this is my 2nd entry.

Click on the challenge names above to go to the challenge and get all the information and enter either or both challenges like I did.

Sketch N Scrap #106

Fall is not my favorite season but I do love the colors associated with it.   So today I made this fall card to send to my Dad in a few weeks.

I used the sketch #106 at   "SKETCH N SCRAP"  this is the link to all this months challenge and here is the sketch to use.

The Paper Players

I haven't made any cards in a couple of months and when I saw this weeks Sketch #363 at
"THE PAPER PLAYERS"   I really liked it and wanted to play along.   So I thought I would start on making some Christmas cards for this coming season.   I'm way behind on that.

Here is the link to "THE PAPER PLAYERS"   and the sketch so you can play along too.

Sketchy Saturday

When two of the yahoo groups I am were doing Christmas in July, I was busy packing and finding a lake house for us to move to.   So I didn't get any Christmas cards made ahead of time so now I'm starting to get a few done.

Today I used sketch #482 at  "SKETCHY SATURDAY"   I used scraps and papers from different Christmas 6x6 pads and put this together with a simple green stamped sentiment.

Here is the sketch and the link to "SKETCHY SATURDAY"

Find Spot

Well you know the expression a day late and a dollar short.   Well thats what I was with this layout.
When I started this layout today I had the print out   "USE YOUR STUFF"  Challenge #279 Fall is in the Air,  But........that was last week so when I went to link it I saw that the new challenge is
#280 - PETS.     So I guess it all worked out because the theme of my layout was our new kitten, Spot that we got last fall and how we kept finding him hiding in my fall basket on the kitchen counter.

But there was one more challenge that I do get to link this layout to in time.   and that is the Challenge #136 - Harvest at   "THE PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGE"
Here in the Northern Hemisphere we are approaching Autumn and with that is Harvest season. I know we all have so many fun pictures and stamp images that feature the leaves changing and nature's bounty around us. So bring on your State Fair pictures, pumpkin patches, autumn cards, anything that makes you think of Harvest is welcome in this post.

CLICK above for the link to the challenge.

Walter Cronkite Impersonation

I'm scrapping old pictures today.   This one is about a year old.   I might have already made a layout using one similiar to it, but this picture was in a stack on my desk so I'm assuming it was there for me to scrap.     This was such a fun day out with my brother and Dad,  we went about 50 minutes north of Kansas City and did some sightseeing in St. Joseph.  We had no idea there was a Walter Cronkite Museum at the college there, but so glad we saw the sign because it was fantastic and we all loved it.
They had this desk set up just like he sat out to do the nightly news and even the option of taking a picture with their camera set up and printing your picture there for free.   We all did it.

I'm entering this layout in a double challenge using the same sketch.
The September 15th reveal at "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"  and the double challenge using the same sketch at  "MY CREATIVE SCRAPBOOK"     These are the links and here is the sketch.
Plus there is an awesome blog hop going on with lots of inspiration for the sketch.

Summer Relaxing

We are all settled into our new home at the Lake of the Ozark and now before the summer is totally over we can enjoy the water.     It is so wonderful having a lakefront home so that we can walk out and swim/float anytime we want.   We even have all the toys,  the jet skis are here and our boat will be delivered on Wednesday.     So with this landscape Summer is definitely going to be my favorite time of year.   Let the sun shine.

I'm entering this layout in two challenges.

"SKETCH N SCRAP"  Sketch #137

And then "COLORFUL CREATIONS"   My favorite is sunny days.

Kai and Mylan go back to School

I finally got all the back to school pictures of Kai and Mylan in Florida and have been busy scrapping them today.       I also got to use a lot of old diets I had from swaps and had been hoarding and never used.   So glad to finally use them all.

I can't believe these two are growing up so fast.    I remember Kai's first day of school and now he is already in 6th grade.   My grandkids are growing up way to fast.

I'm a big kid now

I couldn't believe it when my son-in-law posted this picture of Elle out shopping with them.
My granddaughter is growing up way to fast for me.

For this layout I am entering it in two challenges.    First I used the Sept. 1st sketch at
"LET'S GET SKETCHY"   and then the challenge #361 at "LASTING MEMORIES"

"LET'S GET SKETCHY"

"LASTING MEMORIES"  All about florals - use some type of floral patterned paper somewhere on your layout.

Before Sunrise

We are loving living at the lake, it is just so beautiful and tranquil.   From beautiful sunsets to waking up early and seeing a full moon set.    That is what I caught in these pictures.   I woke up real early and looked out the window and could see the full moon from the night before starting to go down.
I got up and went outside to get some pictures.      Waking up at 4:30 a.m. is well worth it when you see something like this.

I used  Sept 1st sketch #136 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  plus I pulled out some super old papers to make my layout.   I used My Minds Eye - Tres Jolie.    This is a 10 year old collection back from 2007.   Yes I never through anything away, I keep it and finally use it.

Let's Eat

When I was visiting the kids over July 4th weekend, I got to feed Elle breakfast when she first tried Rice Cereal.   She really loved it.   Plus after eating wouldn't let go of the spoon.  She was teething some so I think that was why she loved chewing on the spoon.
Now just this last weekend I was there for three days and Leslie and I made a bunch of baby food for her.   She is trying so many things and loving them all, we froze individual servings of fresh pureed blueberries, apples, pears,  peas, zucchini, yellow squash and  broccoli.   There was already avocado, green beans and carrots made and in the freezer.   Two mornings while I was there, we just "mushed" a half a banana each morning for her breakfast and I got to feed her that.    She is such a good eater. I have to say I tried them all and they taste great.   I wish I had done this with my kids.

I am entering this layout at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for Challenge #360 - Stripes.
I have the pink and white stripe patterned paper and then I also have two stripes of the  deep pink
card stock.

Check out this months challenges at  "LASTING MEMORIES".   You have all month to enter the weekly challenges for September.

August PL page

I spent today doing all of my August PL pages.   I hate being behind, but finally I'm pretty much caught up with it.   Just have to do the beginning of September.    On one of my pages I used the  Sept
1st sketch #85 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"    It was perfect for the pictures I took of the wine labels.   The board had a little send off for me after my last official Home Owners Board meeting,  after the official business was completed we just sat around and drank some different wines and talked for almost 2 hours.    I knew I would miss them all and my board position, but this made it all real knowing it my last time with all of them.

Here is the sketch I used and then below that is my full page with the card on it.

All my grandkids but the baby Elle are in school now.   Avery started Kindergarten and Dylan started Preschool.    They grow up to fast.

I am entering this layout in 4 challenges

Then I did the Scrappy Friends combo challenge with the above prompt with the sketch challenge at
"GRAND DIVA'S CREATIVE CORNER"     Here is the sketch below.

Next is "SCRAP OUR STASH CHALLENGE BLOG" with the September Tic Tac Toe challenge.
I used the left vertical column,  Cork, Fancy Pants, Arrow.   My background paper is a cork pattern,
the polka dot paper is from Fancy Pants and I have 2 wood veneer Arrows on my layout.

And finally I am entering this at the  "COLORFUL CREATIONS"  September Word Challenge.
I picked the word school from the list and it is in my title and printed on the school house embellishment.
Our words for this month are SCHOOL, PRIMARY COLORS, FUN and PLAY.
Please incorporate one of these words into your project.  It can be in the way
of the title, picture, pattern paper, etc… let creativity be your guide!

Mother and Son

Here is the layout I made with the August 15th sketch at  "MY CREATIVE SCRAPBOOK"

I liked the sketch when I saw it and I had this picture of my grandson and his Mom sitting on my desk and I thought it would go great with it.   I decided to go with neutral colors of grey, black, brown and some gold.   I thought it blended well with the neutrals in the picture.

Here is the sketch
