Pregnant Santa

I just LOVE this picture of my  36 week pregnant daughter.   This was taken at her work Christmas party.   They thought she would do the Santa suit justice.....and she did.    So glad someone took the picture so I could have it to make a layout with.

I'm using week 2 sketch by Brenshevia at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  for this layout.    I tried to incorporate a lot of red in my papers to go with the Santa suit.

Here is the sketch at go to "LET'S GET SKETCHY" for all the details, still a couple of days to enter.

I also want to enter this at "ANOTHER FREAKIN SCRAPPY CHALLENGE"    I can't believe I haven't entered yet this month.   I love Christmas layouts and the theme for December is............
Christmas.    Well here you go, my pregnant Santa.

Check it out here at  "ANOTHER FREAKIN SRAPPY CHALLENGE"   Don't you just love the name.

Family pictures

We had a fantastic Christmas this year, the entire family was there.  My Dad is 93 and was blessed to have us all together, including his 21 month old great grandson from Australia that he hadn't seen before.   Plus my daughter is 36 weeks pregnant so he 'more or less' had all 3 and to be 4 great grandchildren together.   of course we took a lot of family group pictures.   Not as many or as formal as we first talked about but at least got them taken.   My niece has a great camera so hope a lot of hers come out better than the ones I took with my phone, it was not playing nice at all.   :(
But this picture is of myself, Dad and my brother.

I am entering this layout at  "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"   It is challenge #36 - Happy Holidays.
You have to create a holiday theme layout including yourself in the pictures.  Check out the details at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"   You have until Jan. 4th to enter.

Playing in the Snow

My great nephew is in Missouri for the Christmas holidays from Sydney, Australia.   So this weekend he got to witness and play in his first snow.    He is 21 months old now and I have made a HUGE scrapbook for his parents for Christmas, it is already wrapped but I'm now just making more layouts to give to them to add to the album.

These pictures were perfect for the sketch revealed today at "LET'S GET SKETCHY"

Here is the sketch and the link to the challenge is above on the name.

Carving the Turkey

I hardly took any pictures during Thanksgiving this year, but did get a couple of Jason, my son-in-law carving the turkey.    So I used this picture with the Dec. 15 sketch at  "STUCK SKETCHES ?!"
I used some Simple Stories - Hello Fall papers and then added some embellishments from my stash, a dolly, a diecut turkey and a banner.

Here is the sketch and check out all the details at  "STUCK SKETCHES ?!"

Sweet Treats

I have a lot of my Sweet Treats made, but will still be adding to them later today and tomorrow.
But since I had taken pictures early this morning while i worked on a batch of peppermint bark
I decided to take a break and make a layout.

Sketch #119 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP" was perfect because I had 3 pictures.   Had to rotate
the ingredient picture I had taken, but still worked fine.    I used a variety of manufactures on
this layout,   Authentique, Fancy Pants and Echo Park.   I just love playing around with all
my variety of Christmas papers.

Here is the sketch and the link to  "SKETCH N SCRAP"

Brewery Tour

This is the last reveal for 2016 at   "LASTING MEMORIES"   You will have till the end of the month  to enter.    This challenge is an easy one.........Anything Goes,  the only caveat is that you have to be sure and use a phone from this year, 2016.

When making this layout I used the Dec. 1st sketch at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"   It was perfect for the group picture we had taken there at the beginning of our tour and then one ticket stub.

This was a fun day we had in St. Louis Thanksgiving weekend,  we just drove in that morning a 90 minute drive.   We had lunch and then went to Budweiser to take the tour.  Only my daughter, Leslie and I had ever been before.   So it was a first time experience for my Dad, Brother and Son-in-Law.

Here are the links for the challenges and also the sketch.

Happy Hanukkah

I make a lot of Christmas cards but my husbands kids celebrate Hanukkah so I always make Hanukkah cards for their families and also my mother-in-law.
I decided to make one more this morning after I saw the challenge at "CAS-UAL FRIDAYS"
and send it to my step daughter-in-laws parents as we know them well and have visited back and forth.

So whatever you are celebrating this season I wish you all Joy, Love and Peace.

More Trees

I love Christmas trees and all the lights.   Here are 3 I have set up in our home.  I also have a skinny little Charlie Brown tree inside our entryway, basically just candy canes on it and no lights.   Then we have our big tree in the family room.    My craft room tree and kitchen tree are table top size.

I'm entering this layout in two different challenges.     The first one is  "THE MEMORY NEST"
I used their Make It Monday Sketch #78.   It was perfect for these 3 pictures.

Then the second challenge is  "PICTURE THIS"    The December challenge there is  'Shapes'
I have 3 square with my pictures and then the center green patterned paper is a trapezoid.

Here are the links and the sketch.....

Snowmen

I was up and having coffee at 5 a.m. today.    I'm not a morning person but couldn't sleep.   Maybe I should get up early everyday because this is the 2nd card I've made today.

We don't have snow yet here in Kansas City.  We did have one morning of just a dusting, but that has been it.    But it's not even officially winter so I know we will get some.    My son and grandkids live in Ft. Worth but lately they have been getting one snow every winter.   I think I'll send this card to the kids when that happens this year because i always get pictures of them out playing in their snow, whether its a 1/4" or more, they love it as they miss the Missouri winters to build snowmen.

I"m entering this card in the challenge at  "THE PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGE"   Their challenge
#117 is snowmen.   You can make a layout or a card just so there are snowmen on them.
Obviously I chose to make a card.    I even staged it in front of my little display of snowmen on my
entryway table.

Check out the challenge here at  "THE PAPER GIRLS"

Let It Snow

The yahoo scrapping group I am has a weekly card challenge and the prompt for this week is winter and snow.    So I started looking through some of my favorite challenge blogs to see if anyone else had a challenge similar to this.        "USE YOUR STUFF"   Challenge #245 announced today is 'Let It Snow'     I had a stamped image that had just those words.   I found this beautiful textured paper in my winter stash of papers,  I just cut from the corner of the page to include the snowflakes and that became my background.  I matted the sentiment in silver card stock and made a snowflake with my cricut.   So it all went together well.     I'll set the card aside and if we get a big snow here in Missouri this winter I'll send the card to my Dad.

I am also entering my card at  "CRAFT YOUR PASSIONS CHALLENGES"    Their challenge is
always anything goes.   So I'm using this card for today challenge #342.

Maybe I should get up at 5 am more often because I seem to be getting a lot already accomplished today.

Check out the challenge  here at   "USE YOUR STUFF"

Hello Santa

I love it when I get a picture of my grandkids with Santa.    Last weekend while they were in town having a long fun weekend at Great Wolf Lodge.   Before we left to have dinner Addisyn had a
chance to visit with Santa.     This Mr. & Mrs. Claus was so awesome, they looked so authentique and were so great with the kids and talked and talked and took so much special time with each child.

I used the December sketch at  "CREATIVE SCRAPPERS"   just like it said on their blog post. It was a perfect sketch to use a lot of scraps and that is just what  I did.  Even the shiny green background paper I think I have had for 6 years,  I found then years ago for 10 cents each and I think I bought a dozen pieces.

Here is the sketch and link to "CREATIVE SCRAPPERS"

All Wrapped Up

Christmas isn't here yet but I'm ready to make Christmas layouts.    I made this one for the reveal at
"LASTING MEMORIES"   The prompt this week is to use 4 pictures, no less, more.    These pictures of me wrapping some gifts this last week was perfect for this.    I love it when I have a challenge where I can use a group of pictures of a single occasion.   This challenge is perfect for that so I hope you all will join in the fun this week.

I am also going to use this for the  "USE YOUR STUFF"  challenge.   the challenge is Layers
you are to use at least 5 layers and at least two of them can't be paper.   So  I have background card stock, poinsettia patterned paper, a strip of green card stock on the top and bottom edges, stuck under the patt paper  and then stuck under the green is a strip of red card stock that has a scalloped edge cut.
So that is 4 layers and then I have my pictures matted in white card stock and inked with green edges, that is another layer.   Then I have misc. stickers around and also I put together two poinsetta flowers, with a leaf layer, then the flower and then  I used an star enamel dot for the center of the flower.

CAS(E) Christmas cards

It was a short night for me last night so I've been up awhile and creating.     I made two Christmas cards this morning both using sketches for "CAS(E) this SKETCH"      The one with Santa Clause for for the previous challenge, that has closed already but I loved the sketch and last week was just not a scrappy week for me

The one with the Christmas tree is sketch #201 and it was perfect for this image.   Since I stuck with the solid white base to add a bit more color I inked the edges of both cards.

Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge.

Hello Snow

A friend in the neighborhood took this picture of our lake last winter.   I just loved it so decided
to get out my new  Crate {a[ers cp;;storm Snow and Cocoa and use it with this picture.

I did my take on the sketch for December Week 1 at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"      It was perfect
for the single picture I had.   I decided to print the picture at 5x7 with border.

Take a look at the sketch and you have until December 30th to enter at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"

Family Together

Boy am I behind.   December 7th and this is the first challenge layout I've made.    Totally unlike me, I'm usually making layouts daily and a lot of them.   But last couple of months I have really been slower.   Hopefully the upcoming new year I'll get back in the mega scrapping groove.

This last weekend all the Greenberg kids and grandkids were in Kansas City, we had three days of doing fun things.   All ending with a brunch at our house on Sunday and an opportunity to take some great group pictures.    This one is of us with the 5 grandkids on Arthurs side.    There were more pictures taken out in our backyard under the arbor, but since i wasn't taking  the pictures this is the only one I have seen so far.

For this layout I used the Make It Monday Sketch #77 at   "THE MEMORY NEST"
Even though this picture was taken on Dec. 4th I used the Simple Stories - Hello Fall collection.

Here is the sketch.....

Decembers first PL page

I was late for my December reveal at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"   but I did get my
PL card and my whole page made today.       It is my first page for this December.   I have never
made a December Daily but was thinking about it last night when I couldn't sleep so I decided I
would "kinda" do it PL style with some journaling each day about what we did for the day.
This page covers Dec. 1st and 2nd.

Here is the sketch for the PL card

Check out what the design team is doing the first week and then check out the new sketches each week during the month at   "SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFE STYLE"

Hurricane Smores

My granddaughters Avery and Dylan live in Orlando and of course they were effected with weather by Hurricane Matthew.    They didn't lose power or anything, just lots and lots of wind and rain.
But they were prepared and made smores inside and just stayed happy and dry.

The challenge this week at   "LASTING MEMORIES"  is  'Glitter and Glam'     The burnt orange paper on the left is a glitter paper and also the flower I fussy cut from a full sheet of 12x12 paper and it is glittered also.   Then I just added a strip of rhinestones and pearls and that is my glam.

Check out what all the design team members did and all the details for the challenge here at

American Girls

Today was my only full scrapping day for the next 10.   I might have some time tomorrow but you never know.     I already had this picture printed out of my granddaughter Avery and when I saw the November Week 3 sketch this morning at    "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  I  knew it would be perfect for this picture.      I had fun picking the papers.   I went to my tall stack of single sheet papers.   This is
where I put singles I buy or the odd and end piece or two from a collection.     I used 4 different papers (small flowers & polka dot paper are A and B sides of one) and all from different manufacturers but the colors all went great together I thought.

I matted the picture with a thin black card stock and then inked the edges of all the papers with black ink.   But the small strip of pink polka dot paper edged with green is actually from the tear strip of the
paper and I just cut it out as would work perfect size wise.

So check out the sketch below and go to    "LET'S GET SKETCHY"   to get all the challenge details.

PONY EXPRESS MUSEUM TOUR

About a month ago when my Dad and Brother were in time, we took a day trip about an hour north
of Kansas City to St. Joseph, MO and toured a few museums there.   The first being the Pony Express Museum.   We saw the sight where the first Pony Express rider left from.

I had plenty of pictures, plus my memorabilia pamphlet so I had to find just the right sketch to use.
That took me right to the Nov. 15th sketch at   "LET'S SCRAP"     It was perfect to showcase some
of my pictures I took.

Here is the sketch and check out all the details and DT layouts here at  "LET'S SCRAP"

Fun and Games

I used this grid design for my layout taking it from the "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES"  November sketch.       The last couple of days I've been making layouts from pictures of my daughters baby shower last Sunday.   This page, as in its title, is about the fun we had, decorating two onsies per person for the baby and the the games of how fast you could diaper and then swaddle a stuffed animal.    It was a great shower and we all had fun.

Here is the sketch and just go to  "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES"  to see what the Design team did with the sketch.   There is a lot of inspiration there.

Trick or Treat Golf Cart Style

I keep finding Halloween pictures I want to scrap.    Going to have two of the four kids we share and the grandkids in town the first weekend in December so I'm trying to get all their layouts made so I can send them home with them.   Barbara's family in Orlando we haven't seen in a year so have a lot to give to  here.   David's family across the state in St. Louis we see a lot more often so they get layouts every time, but will still have their Halloween layouts, like this one, and some more ready for them.

I used the November 1st sketch at   "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"   for this layout.      I went with a solid black card stock background and then just added my colors with the patterned papers I used.

Here is the sketch and you have till the end of the month to enter.   Plus the Nov. 15th sketch was just announced too, so be sure and check it all out at   "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"

Save the Turkey

It's that time of year for all the turkeys to take cover, unless you are the lucky one that the President pardons each year.    I think this one is asking for that pardon.

I am entering this card for the challenge at   "SIMPLY CREATE TOO"      Challenge #122 is.....
'Gobble Gobble'   ( you must have a turkey on your creation )

Check out the challenge here at   "SIMPLY CREATE TOO"

Baby Shower

So glad I had saved the sketch from  "LET'S SKETCH"     I finally had the right pictures to use with it from Leslie's baby shower yesterday.    I have a couple more layouts to make from the pictures I took and that one of her friends took and posted but with only hours left to enter at "LET'S SKETCH"  I wanted to get this one made first.    The lighting wasn't great for perfect pictures, but I still took a lot.   I knew this was one event I would scrapping a lot of.   My other layouts will be one of the great brunch we had and then another one of the fun and games we had.   And this double page layout is obviously of her opening her gifts.   We all loved it when an old friend came in with 3 cases of pampers with a stick-on bow on each box.   It got her other friend from highs school days talking about as she was wrapping her gifts that morning, her mother-in-law was visiting and said her wrapping just would not do and took over, and couldn't understand how she didn't have double sided tape and her tape would show on the paper.    Good times.

Here is the sketch  and click on this link   "LET'S SKETCH"   to get all the details.

I only used 4 triangles on my corners but I like how it turned out.

A card of thanks for Thanksgiving

I was making Thanksgiving cards the last couple of days and getting them all ready to mail out
on Monday.   I saw the challenge at "NACHO AVERAGE CHALLENGES"  and decided to
make this as one of my Thanksgiving cards.   I am so thankful to be spending the day with the
majority of my family.    Only my son from Texas won't be with us, but he will be home for Christmas.

The challenge at "NACHO AVERAGE CHALLENGES"   is gratitude.    And gratitude is being thankful for all you have.

A Haunting We Will Go

Finally got a couple of pictures of Kai and Mylan at Halloween down in Texas.    I sure miss them, I remember 4 years ago when they lived here in Kansas City, I went out in the neighborhood with them trick or treating.   Fun times.

I once again used the November sketch at   "PICTURE THIS"   to make a Halloween layout.
It's a fun sketch and got to use different patterned papers on it.

Check out the sketch below and all the details here at    "PICTURE THIS"

There's No Place Like the Craft Room

When I saw the first challenge of the month at "SCRAP OUR STASH CHALLENGE BLOG"
I wondered how I could come up with something to go with the book title inspired challenge.

Then my daughter-in-law posted these pictures of the kids on Facebook.   She said the Gibson and
Addisyn had been going wild all afternoon and would calm down.    So downstairs to the craft area she has set up for them and it was the perfect thing to get them to sit and create and not be so rambunctious.     So   besides going with the colors of the cover, blue and yellow  I made my own title like the book also.   "There's No Place Like the Craft Room"   I added 4 wood veneer stars and also two other pieces of wood veneer for my embellishments.

Check out   "SCRAP OUR STASH"   and be inspired like I was.

Home for the Holidays

There is nothing like having everyone together for the holidays and for many years now we have
all congregated at my brothers house.      So this will be the card I will be sending him this year.

I made this card for the November card challenge at  "STICK IT DOWN"       All you have to
do is use a big sentiment.  You have till the end of November to enter any or all of the three challenges for the month.

I am also entering this card at    "SCRAPPING 4 FUN CHALLENGES"    Challenge #78
is Christmas.   You can make a card like I did or a layout, mixed media, canvas or anything
you want with the theme of Christmas.   You have until midnight November 24th,European time.
