Card for my daughter

I'm trying to get back into card making and this is my 2nd one for the day, first I made one to send to my son and this one I'll be sending to my daughter,   they are "just because" cards.  But who doesn't like to get happy mail for no reason at all.

When I saw the card sketch #152 a few days back at   "SKETCH N SCRAP"  it was one I printed and saved 'just in cause' I got in the card making mood.   So here I am today.

Here is the link to "SKETCH N SCRAP"  and the sketch,

Thinking of You card

I really need to start making more cards again, my stash is getting low.    I'm going to be sending this to my son.    To get started on my card making comeback I used the August card sketch at
"STICK IT DOWN"   I really liked the design of it.         It's been a good month for me scrapping and now with this card I finished the card sketch challenge and both the single page and double page
sketch at "STICK IT DOWN"

Here is the sketch and link to "STICK IT DOWN"  for all of the challenges in August.

Valley of Fire

One of our favorite road trip vacations was our drive from Missouri to Las Vegas.    From the flatlands of Kansas to Mountain passes in Colorado and then all the beautiful desert regions going toward Vegas.   But along with the dry and red rocks, we saw beautiful vegetation and cactus all around.     I pulled  these pictures that I hadn't scrapped from that trip in 2015 to make this layout for August Challenge #459 - Cactus at   "LASTING MEMORIES."

LM #459 - Cactus

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope you are having a good weekend.

Our theme for August is "Plants" and this week's challenge is:

LM #459 - Cactus - show us a cactus or two on your layout.

This can be on the papers, in the photos, or embellishments

How Sweet

I had a favorite week this summer was the first week of August when both my kids and all 3 grandkids were together for a week.   We spent first 3.5 days together where my daughter and also my brother lives,  we got to be with my Dad then too and spend time in the swimming pool, at the park, cooking out and making smore's over the fire pit one night.   Then the next 3.5 days we all came to our house on the lake and continued the fun, with swimming, floating, kayaking, jet skiing and boating.   My youngest daughter loved her first real lake vacation that she could do things and joined in everything.   All the boat rides she ended up sitting and cuddling with me and I loved it.

I'm entering the layout at   "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF"  for their challenge #68.
I love that we live at the lake and summers are the best but its extra special when we have our
families come and visit and enjoy it all with us.

Inside the Mirage

I want to try and get all the challenges for August at  "LASTING MEMORIES" made this month, but I got a late start on them.   Just finished the 2nd one 5 this morning.

Living here in Missouri, right in the center of the country we don't have palm trees for sure.
So I went searching for pictures and went back to 2015 and our road trip to Las Vegas.   I got out the album I had made, and also added to, and looked to see what pictures I hadn't scrapped.    I print all my own pictures at home so everything scrapped or not stays on my computer.
I saw this group of pictures I took inside The Mirage when went to a show one night with friends.
I'm glad I got the pictures.   The main picture shows the palm trees and there are at least trunks of Palm Trees in the other pictures and I have palm trees in the center paper and palm leaves on the outer paper.   So I put this layout together to add to the road trip album and use this for Challenge
#460 - Palms at  "LASTING MEMORIES"

LM #460 - Palms

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! Welcome back to Lasting Memories. I hope you are enjoying our fun challenges this month. Are you ready for the next one?

Our theme for August is "plants" and this week's challenge is:

LM #459 - Palms - show us some palms on your layout.

This can be on the papers, in the photos, or embellishments.

You Are My Sunshine

My Dad and my Daughter have always had a special bond and I got these pictures a few weeks ago when we took the kids to the park to play one Saturday.     I have no idea what they were talking about but I knew I wanted to make a layout for my daughters album.     I used the collection
Echo Park - Springtime and since they had some trees in one of the patterns and leaves on the sticker embellishment page and there are tree in the background of my pictures.  I decide to go with the trees challenge at  "LASTING MEMORIES"

LM #457 - Trees

Hello, hello! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Can you believe that it is already time for a new theme and a new set of challenges?! DT member Denise has chosen our theme and challenges for this month and they are going to be a lot of fun, so let's get started!

For August our theme is "Plants" and our first challenge of the month is:

LM #457 - Trees - we want to see trees on your layout.

This can be on the papers, in the photos, or embellishments.

Pizza Time

I've been fighting a cold but I did get to make this layout this morning.      My granddaughter has her favorite pizza place to go to and she will eat anything on it.    This was chicken, pineapple and red onions.     One time when I took her alone, I ordered her chicken, red onions, black olives and artichoke hearts, because the time before we had gone she ate her pizza plus most of the artichoke hearts and black olives out of my salad.    I know when I was 2 1/2 I sure didn't know what artichoke hearts were, much less that they were good.   I doubt I had never had a black olive for many years to come either.

I used Sketch #386 from    "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout because I could pick two of the three pictures I took of her that night eating her pizza.   Designer Elizabeth made this sketch.

Here is the sketch and link to  "SKETCHES IN THYME"

Zoo

A project I am working on is making an album for my daughter that covers several road trips we took together or road trips we took to visit her.    This was a road trip I took with my brother and Dad to go see Leslie in Tyler, TX while she was doing a summer internship at the Caldwell Zoo.   Of course we spent the day at the zoo and she gave us a great tour around the area.

I'm entering this layout at   "SOUL SCRAPPERS"  for Challenge   MBC#18

What is a Mystery bag challenge?

Cookie Baking Time

When my son and family came to Missouri for a week the end of July we all had fun and that meant
Jason  aka  Daddy and/or Uncle Jason. spent two afternoons making 3 different batches of cookies with the girls.  They loved every minute and everyone else loved the results.   Day one was double thick chocolate chip cookies and day two was jelly thumbprint and chocolate kisses thumbprint sugar cookies.

I used the August 15th  "SCRAP OUR STASH"   Pick Your Side challenge.

I picked the left side and I did the twist of 5+ patterned papers and twine.   I actually ended up with
six different patterns and I have two places where I tied  bows out of twine, one blue and one brown.
On my small journaling tag and top of my small picture strip.

Cousins together

July 4th weekend we got to have all the Greenberg kids and grandkids hear together.   Something we hope to do every summer.   We get to see the St. Louis gang often but Barbara and Frank and their two daughters not often enough.   So this was our 2nd summer of having everyone together here and it was so fun.

I'll be entering this layout for the sketch and mood board challenge at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"

I followed the sketch and from the mood board I went with the summer theme of the board and also
the fireworks square had me thinking of July 4th pictures I hadn't scrapped yet.  Barbara brought all 3 girls a matching July 4th themed shirt and one that would work for Gibson too.   So photo-op time it was for the cousins together.

Game Time

Ever since Jason and Leslie introduced me to the game Carcassone, I have loved playing it.   Now we have the rest of the family loving it too.    While we were all together the end of July we played several games in the evening.   Every game is different and never boring.     But what we have made
the challenge to be is to beat Jason.   He is the king of the game.    We all love family game night.

I used the sketch #383 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"    Here is the sketch.

So Beautiful

The challenges for the month of August at   "LASTING MEMORIES"  is Plants and the challenge #458 is Flowers.   So when I saw these beautiful butterflies landing on my Lantana flowers on the step off our deck this past weekend  I got these pictures and knew they would be perfect for this challenge.

I have flowers in my pictures, floral paper down the middle and a floral wood veneer tag on my layout also.

Here is the link to the "LASTING MEMORIES"  Challenge.

LM #458 - Flowers

Good Sunday morning! Welcome back to Lasting Memories! Are you ready for a new challenge? Here we go!

DT member Denise has chosen our theme for August and it is "plants". This week's challenge is:

LM #458 - Flowers - show us some flowers on your layout.

Once again, this can be on the papers, in the photos, or embellishments.

Enjoy the Little Things

I pulled out my Recollections WaterColor paper pad to make this layout.     I used the sketch for
Challenge #384 at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"  and while looking at it, even though it is in Black
and White I see what looks like muted tones of what could be different colors in the background.
I just love this paper pad and I also fussy cut what I used as the title  for the layout with its
'smear' of colors'   I did some journaling around two of the corners as there was journaling all
the way around the sketch.

Here is the link to  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  and below is the sketch.

Fun Weekend

We've had back to back weekends with family and it has been so much fun.    We just finished two days with the St. Louis gang and even Bo the dog was here too and we did it all.   Swimming, boating, tubing and time on the jet skis too.

I made this double page  with just a group of pictures of some of what we did.   I had the perfect pictures to use the August double page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN".    Click to get all the details of all the August challenges and here is the sketch.

Jet Ski Ride

This is my son Jason and his niece Elle, my 2 1/2  yr old granddaughter.   I had the whole family here My son's two older kids, my 13 and 9 year grandchildren had gone out on the jet ski with their Dad so Elle didn't want to be left out.   So they took a slower ride closer to the dock and she loved it.
Jason said she kept saying "go faster".

I'll be entering this layout in 2 challenges.    I had a lot of pictures of them out on the jet ski so loved that "SKETCH N SCRAP" had a 4 picture sketch challenge #182 that I could use.    Then today,
"USE YOUR STUFF" announced challenge #370 - Summer Activities and I have lots of pictures of
all be do over the summer here living on the lake.

Here are the links and more info on these 2 challenges.

Together in the Swimming Pool

I was swimming with my grandkids this last weekend and my daughter got my camera and took this great picture of me holding the littlest one and hugging my oldest granddaughter.   I just love it.
I rarely get pictures of myself, as you all have probably heard me say many times before.   I absolutely love this one as we are all smiling and it just was the start of a fabulous full four day weekend all together.

I'll be entering this layout at  "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF"  the August challenge as it certainly fits for the challenge, because my best part of the summer was having all 3 of my grandkids together for a visit.

Challenge YOUrself #68 . . . What I Like About Summer

Hi everyone!
It's time for another challenge :) YAY!

This month we would like you to create a page about what you like about summer.  You can interpret the theme any way you like.  We just want to remind you to include a photo with YOU on your page!

FLOAT

I'm keeping busy making layouts from out fun filled long weekend with all my family.
I loved being on this giant float with my 3 grandkids and they loved just floating around also.
This layout is going to work for two challenges this month.`

When I saw the single page sketch for August at   "STICK IT DOWN"  and I knew it would be
perfect for some of these pictures because the word Float would be perfect for the titles and in the
squares on the sketch.

Here is the link to   "STICK IT DOWN"   Check out the single page sketch and also the double page and card sketch for August.   All are great.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Since I'm lucky enough to have these pictures of my grandkids including myself while we all got
out in the lake on the big float together.   I am also going to enter this layout at   "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF"    I read where you can enter 3 times and since I'm lucky enough
to have pictures with me from my favorite time of this summer it fits perfect for the August

Boat Time

This was Elle's first real trip to visit us at the lake, the last time she was here, she wasn't one yet so this time she really got into "lake life".   We went boating both days she was here and she loved looking out at everything passing by.   That is until the motion got to here and it became the best nap time ever.   I don't blame her I can sleep easily out in the boat too.

I made this for the "Scrappy Friends" double challenge.
  Hello Scrappy Friends!

If you are new to my blog, here's how the challenge(s) work!  If you complete my
SKETCH CHALLENGE, link your layout below.  If you combined my challenge with my Scrappy Friend 's Challenge  - Scrap With Stacy's Photo Inspiration Challenge, link your layout below AND link it to her blog as well.  You will have a chance to win a prize from me, a prize from Stacy's blog AND the Bonus prize listed below!
That's 3 ways to win a prize with one layout!! ðŸ˜Š

First I used the sketch from "THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS SCRAPBOOKING"   I always love her sketches, this one was so fun to use and I'll try it again with a different theme.    Then I combined my layout using the "SCRAP WITH STACY"  Photo Inspiration Challenge.  I pulled the beach/water/theme from her photo.   We weren't at a Beach but the next best thing, out on the water on the lake.

So here are both links and challenge info.

My Amazing Family

I just had an amazing 6 days with all my family together.    My Dad is 96 so I wanted to get pictures with him and my two kids and three grandkids.    But darn it I forgot to have one taken with me in the pictures too, I was too busy taking pictures.    But still so glad to have these.   Even one of the grand dogs backs himself into some of the pictures too.

I made this layout for the "SCRAP OUR STASH"  August Saturday Cartoon Inspired Sketch Challenge.    For the Cartoon of the Jetsons I pulled from the family theme including the dog in the family of this cartoon.   I followed the sketch and you were also to use mixed alphas.   I have one font with sticker alphas and two different fonts with the wood veneer part of my title.

Here is the link and info at   "SCRAP OUR STASH"

My Sunday Adventures

Every Sunday my 2 year old granddaughter goes over to visit her Papa (Great Grandfather), they have lunch together, go grocery shopping at Wal-Mart and then have one more adventure together around his house.   This time they got to see a bulldozer building a new house on his street.
Elle and her Papa are BFF's to the max.

This layout is for the challenge at  "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"

28th July - TItle and Journaling

Today's challenge is about ...

Title and Journaling  I want you to focus on the story of the page, now is the time to journal about what happened or a funny story about the photo. I would also like to see a title with two types of alpha but the rest is up to you!
