It's Trophy Time

I get to enter this layout in three different challenges.   It's the companion page that I just made today to go with the layout I made last week of the kids just after they made their Pinewood Derby cars.   This this Saturday they had the race.    They had a blast.

First I used the "Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge at   "SCRAP OUR STASH"  below is the double sketch and I picked the right side to used.    You also had to include a stash item of Flowers.   I have a cluster of blue flowers on my layout.   I've had a bunch of these flowers for a long time so it was great to use more.   The papers I used are from Lawn Fawn - Perfectly Plaid collection and I've had the papers for quite awhile also.

*************************

The next challenge I'm entering is Challenge #431 at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  The challenge is
This or That -Alphas.    I used the different alphas and fonts for my title.    Here are more of the details for the challenge.

LM #431 - This Or That - Alphas

Now for the last January challenge - for January our theme has been - This or That - and we have been working on using up some of our neglected supplies. Our last challenge is:

LM #431 - Alphas - Use at least 2 different types/fonts of alphas on your layout - this can be 2 different fonts, a large alpha combined with a smaller alpha, etc.

*************************
Then last but not least I combined the new challenge announced today at  "USE YOUR STUFF"
Challenge #345 was to use Enamel Dots.   I have three dark blue ones above the left photo and 3 yellow enamel dots for the center of my flowers.    I hardly use these so it was a fun challenge for to use some of my "stuff"

Use Your Stuff # 345 - Enamel dots

HI and welcome to a new week and new challenge here at Use Your Stuff!
The stuff we want to see this time is  Enamel dots!
I am sure like me you've collected a bunch of these tiny little wonders
over the past few years.
Have you come up with some creative ways to use them?

Saran Wrap Game

I wanted to scrap a lot of pictures of this Christmas when we all played the Saran Wrap Game.
We did this a couple of years ago and it was a hit so it was requested to do again this year.
We all played along and had a blast.

I wasn't sure how I would scrap all this layouts and then I saw the January 1st  sketch at
"LET'S SCRAP"  it was perfect.     Here is the sketch, see what you can do with it too.

Orthopedic Holiday Party

I used the newest sketch, sketch #358 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME" to make this layout.   I had printed the two pictures yesterday knowing I wanted to scrap them.   Then today I see the newest sketch at "SKETCHES IN THYME" designed by Bev Code and I knew it would work perfect.
I used a lot of different things I like on this layout, lots of matting, my favorite punch, some gold glitter washi tape and then a new red flower I got in a prize recently.

Here is the sketch and link to  "SKETCHES IN THYME" .

One More ?

I thought this would be a fun picture to scrap.   This was Thanksgiving weekend and there were 5 adults and one toddler in a car seat and one car and we all went to Wall-Mart for groceries and then some extra decorations for the tree we were going to put up.   My daughter is the smallest so she got to ride in the back and we put in all our shopping bags in around her.

I'm entering this at  "USE YOUR STUFF"  Challenge #344 is Numbers
I used the number ONE in my title.   And I did use my stuff too,  this gold and white patterned paper was in my stash at this size 10x10 so I just pulled out a piece of green card stock to go with the wreath that is in the picture for the full background.   I pulled out a corner punch that I haven't used probably in years and then I looked thru a bunch of tags I had to use to journal on.   Added a twine bow on that.  I don't use twine a lot either.   Then these stickers I've had for several years also, but that had some green in and since they were glittery I thought it gave it a festive feel on the gold stripes.   So I used a lot of old or rarely used "stuff".

Love You Kitty

My granddaughter Elle loves cat.   This was here with my brothers cat over Thanksgiving.
Maylette is really good with her and lets her hug her and kiss her.   SO I just love this series of pictures I got of her.     I have 5 cats and recently on a FaceTime call with her I showed her a couple of the cats.  So the last couple of weeks every FaceTime call she immediately starts saying "please meow" meaning let me see the cats Gigi that's why I called.   LOL

I used the prompt at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for this layout.   Challenge #430.

#430 - This Or That - Photos

Hello and Happy Sunday! We are so happy that you stopped by today! Are you ready for a new challenge?

Our theme for January is - This Or That - and we are concentrating on using up some of our neglected supplies. Here is this week's challenge:

LM #430 - Photos - create a multi-photo layout - how many photos you use is up to you but you have to have at least 2 on your layout.

Family together

This fall we went to St. Louis to see our grandkids there and their other grandparents were in town from Vegas so we had to take the opportunity to have family picture with the kids and even Bo the dog.    I love it when we can all get together.     We always have fun with everyone.

I am going to enter this layout for the Challenge #429 at  "LASTING MEMORIES"   The challenge is ......

LM #429 - Trims - Ribbon, Lace, Paper Strips, or Washi Tape - choose one of the trims listed and use on your layout.

Bust out that old ribbon or lace, maybe you have a bunch of washi tape you'd like to use - and if you by chance don't have any of these, then just use some paper strips on your layout!

I used washi tape from my stash, I never seem to remember to use it so this was the push I needed.
I used a gold striped washi tape, with one line on the left and right edge and then two stripes next to each other against my strip of dotted paper on my background green leaf paper.

I am also going to enter the layout at  "PAPER ISSUES {FRIENDS & FANS}"  one of the January challenges is   Let Get Fussy.   I fussy cut the 3 flowers from another piece of paper in the stack of paper I used.

Now's the perfect time to let your mad fussy cutting skills shine! Too tedious for you? How about a page about a fussy baby?

Addisyn & Santa

My granddaughter family had a weekend in KC at Great Wolf Lodge after Thanksgiving and Addisyn really liked seeing Santa there.

I am going to enter this layout in two challenges.

"SCRAPBOOK GENERATION SCRAP SQUAD"   on Facebook is having a few challenges this week and the first one announced today was about the #10, you had to cut 10 12"x1" strips of paper and use them on your layout.    I used 5 different holiday patterned papers.

Next challenge #387 at  "SHOPPING OUR STASH"   the challenge is Inspired By Quilting
I though my basket weave pattern with the the strips of paper in the layout at the bottom right looks like it could be a patchwork quilt.

Best Happy Hour

I've decided to do some layouts about our favorite places to eat.   This is my 2nd one this month.
We go here often because they have such good food and the Happy Hour Specials are fantastic.
A pound of Hot Wings, this monster platter of awesome onion rings and a 22 oz draft beer comes to a grand total of $13.50 and we both eat and sometimes have a couple of wings and onion rings to take home.     Another big seller is their loaded Bloody Mary (my fav) which comes with one raw oyster, a strip of bacon, a pickle, loom wedge and 3 large green olives.    It can be a meal in itself.    The other good thing is that this place, "Tucker Shuckers" is open year round and that isn't always what you find here at the lake.

I used sketch #169 that came out on January 15th at   "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for my layout, it was perfect for my 3 pictures.

Here is the sketch and the link to all the challenges this month at  "SKETCH N SCRAP".

Hanukkah 2018

I'm going to see the grandkids in St. Louis in a couple of weekends so trying to do a little catch up on layouts for them to take with me.   My granddaughter Addisyn just loves looking at all the new ones I give them and pulls out the old albums often to go through.    She gets so excited.

I used the single page sketch for January at  "STICK IT DOWN"   I thought it was going to be a little tricky but I really loved it and going to use it again and mix up some more patterns for my triangles.
Here is the link to  "STICK IT DOWN"  and the sketch I used.    Have fun scrapping.

Cherish Hanukkah

I'm finally getting around to scrapping my step kids Hanukkah pictures.    I had to go buy some paper.   The last bit I had last year I had used earlier to make cards to sent them this last year.
This is my step-daughter and two granddaughters that live in Orlando.   I love the handmade menorahs that the kids made.   So very special.

For this layout I used sketch #356 made by Brenshevia Baker for one of the January challenges at
"SKETCHES IN THYME".   I love the tag wood for the photos.   I'll have to do this again.

Here is the sketch and link to the challenges at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  join in the fun all month.

SNOW !!!

Last weekend most of Missouri was covered with snow.   St. Louis, where my grandkids live got about a foot of snow.   The kids and their dog loved having all of the weekend to go out and play in it.

I used the  Sketch #357 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  to make this sketch, it was perfect because I got to use this fun PL card with the pictures because there was lots and lots of snow.

Here is the sketch and the link to  "SKETCHES IN THYME".

Let It Snow

I didn't get  much where I live in the big midwest snow storm that started Saturday (although a couple of inches and light snow still today)   but 80 miles north of me where my granddaughter is they got over 15" and she loved it.   Not easy for a 23 month old to walk in but still fun.

I used the sketch #355 at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"     It was so perfect to get this series of pictures scrapped.      Be sure and check out this sketch and each weeks sketch.   I already have pictures picked out for the next sketch.

Winter Ski Trip

I haven't made a double page layout from the sketches at  "STICK IT DOWN"     But I'm sure glad I did this one.   I had this piece of patterned paper with all these different tags on them so it worked perfectly.   I had to make some bigger but it all worked out for these skiing pictures of my grandkids and family.   They were in Stowe, VT the end of December and had so much fun.

Here is the sketch and link to "STICK IT DOWN"  challenges for January.

Smitten

These two people have to be my favorite, my Dad and my youngest granddaughter.    93 years difference in age but the bond they carry melts my heart.   Dad looks forward to their weekly visits as the best part of his week and then the holidays and such when they spend multiple days together are even better.   If they aren't doing something together you can hear Elle calling out "Papa Papa" and looking for him and making sure he doesn't stay out of her sight.

I used the sketch at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"  to make this layout.   I really liked working with it.

Here is the sketch and link to "SOUL SCRAPPERS"   and Challenge SC129.   You have until February 2nd to enter.

Hello everyone!

Family Memories

I'm going to use this layout in two different challenges.

First I used the January Jump Start Sketch made by Lisa Hidy at  "THE SCRAPROOM BLOG"  to make this layout, it all went together so easily with the sketch.   We all dressed in matching pajamas for Christmas day so I have a lot of different groupings of family  pictures to scrap for everyone.

Here is the sketch I used at  "THE SCRAPROOM BLOG"

The next challenge I'm entering is at   "LASTING MEMORIES"   For the month of January the challenge is  This and That.    The first challenge for the mont is  Patterned Paper.   You had to use at least 3 different patterns and I used four on this layout, so perfect for the challenge.

LM #427 - This and That - Patterned Paper Challenge

Hello and Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a good Christmas and that you're looking forward to the new year.

Before we get to the new theme and challenge I want to let you know of a change here on the blog. The link-up will now be added at the end of each challenge instead of at the top of the blog page.

Now, onto this week's challenge. In January we will work on using up some of our supplies in our stash that maybe we have - dare I say it - a little too much of - OR items that are being neglected - hence our theme of "This and That". For the first challenge of the new year, we are going to concentrate on all that pretty paper we have in our stash.

LM #427 - Patterned Paper - Use at least 3 different patterned papers on your layout. You can use more but you must use at least 3.

Making Gingerbread Houses

I had so much fun making this layout, I fussy cut all the poinsettias and the tree in the pot.   Plus choosing which pictures to put on the two pages from all the ones I took while we all worked on making and decorating these 3 gingerbread houses.    I had both of my kids and all my grandkids together working on these houses and I loved every minute.     Memories that will last forever and a great addition of this layout in my Christmas albums I make for every year.

I will enter this at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"   Their challenge E2N#21 theme is all about Christmas activities inside and out.     This was our big activity we all shared in for the afternoon of Dec. 23rd.

Please see Soul Scrappers "Welcome" message located under the "Quote of the Week" on our Homepage. It includes our policy of submitting work for any of our challenges to be created exclusively for Soul Scrappers. Entries linked to other challenges will not be considered for one of our prizes.
Thank you for your understanding!
************************************************************
THE THEME THIS MONTH
IS ALL ABOUT
Christmas activities:
INSIDE OR OUTSIDE
Christmas parades , Childern school concerts
Christmas trees, holiday baking.
OR HOILDAY DRINKS.

Our Home

My daughter and son-in-law just bought their first home.   I'm so excited for them.   They just closed last week, going to do a little remodeling in the kitchen and master bathroom and then they will move in in about 8 weeks.     I'm just so happy for them, they have been saving for this dream and now it is here.

I used the  Sketch #168 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout.   I just had to rotate it to work with my pictures,   I think it worked out fine rotating it.      Here is the sketch, be sure and play along with this sketch and the next 3 challenges through the month of January.   They are always great.

Holly Jolly Family Christmas

I made sure to get pictures of all the different family groupings besides the picture of EVERYONE together.    It was my goal this year since we were all going to be together to get lots and lots of family pictures and I did it.   Granted we might all be in our Christmas PJ's for the majority of the groups but there were other fun pictures too.

It wasn't easy but this one we even got all 3 dogs, dressed in their matching jammies too, to stop long enough for a family picture.   Elle had been passed back and forth to be in a picture with everyone so I think she had had enough when it got done to sitting for a picture with her family dogs.

I will enter this in two different challenges.

First at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"     The Pick 3 challenge.    Here is the list and I used both red and green, a group picture, beads and some washi tape.

Here is the next PICK3 challenge for January.
From the list below just pick 3 items to add to your page/card...
its that easy.
Let me know which 3 items you have added when you add your page to the gallery.
*************************

The next challenge I'll enter this layout in is at  "PAPER ISSUES FANS & FRIENDS"
The challenge is to Put It On An Angle.
Grab your photos, papers and create a layout with an angular theme. We can't wait to see what you come up with.

Family Christmas 2018

I was thrilled when my daughter decided to be the planner of all Christmas festivities this year.   I have to say she made a long weekend starting on Saturday thru Christmas Day fun and special for the entire family together.  It all came together with Christmas Day when we all wore the Christmas PJ's she bought for everyone.   I added PJ's for the dogs, 2 of which stayed for the group picture.

I can use this layout in several challenges which always makes it fun.

First I used the sketch at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  to start making my layout.     Here is the sketch.

*****************************

Then the news weekly challenge #428 at   "LASTING MEMORIES"   I have 3 rows or red bling and even one button on my journal block.

LM #428 - This Or That - Bling, Buttons, Brads, Sequins, Or Enamel Dots

Winter Vacation

My stepdaughter and her family went on a long winter vacation and one of their big stops was in Stowe, VT for some fun winter activities for everyone to enjoy.   I'm going to make a lot of layouts for them about their vacations and I thought this one could be the first for their stay in Stowe.   After seeing all of their pictures it is somewhere I want to visit one day for sure.  BUT, I want to go in the summer I'm not a big winter and cold person.    I will put this in two different challenges.

First off I used the sketch at   "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"  It was perfect for one main picture and then lots of round snowflakes and snowflake papers.

Next I will enter this in the first challenge at the month at  "LASTING MEMORIES"
This or That - Patterned Papers.   The challenge was to use at least 3 different patterned papers and I have 3 different snowflake patterned papers in this layout.

You can use more but you must use at least 3
