Scrap Much? Design Team Reveal

I start my design team with "Scrap Much?" with this reveal today.   I'll be revealing two layouts a month, one double page and one single page.    I'm really excited to be part of this team as
"Scrap Much?" always has such great challenge sketches and I've entered most all of them.

I'm having a horrible time getting my full layout to show up here so I hope it fixes itself.
Ever since I upgraded my Mac to the new Yosemite OS there have been things changed in all I do from my blog to yahoo messenger not being compatible.    I swear sometimes changes are not always worth it.    But that is not what this post is about.

I made this layout soon after I saw the sketch to work on.   This is my granddaughter Avery from Orlando, who we got to visit with in early October.    We had so much fun blowing bubbles so I had a big series of pictures to choose from to make the layout.    I have included the sketch below and please check out all the details of the challenge  HERE.   You have until midnight November 29th to enter this challenge.   I'll be watching for all your entries so please join us in the fun.

Oldie but Goodie

I spent some time this morning looking thru an old photo album and found these 2 polaroid pics of my son and daughter on the day we brought Leslie home from the hospital.   Back in the dark ages.   (LOL)  siblings couldn't come to the hospital to see Mom and the new baby so Jason was waiting 5 days at home.   Leslie was a premie so spent a couple of extra days in the hospital.
Anyway I knew I would want to scrap these pictures so pulled them out of the album and then I saw the week 4 sketch for Let's Get Sketchy sitting on the side of my desk and knew it would work great with these pictures so went right to work on it.     I still have a stash of baby papers I've used for grandkids so I got to use more of these and clean them out some.   I have the sketch at the end of this post.

I am also going to enter this layout in one more challenge.   The latest challenge announced on Monday. Oct 20th  at The Paper Girls Challenge was...... Anything Goes.     It was so much fun to do this blast from the past layout I wanted to enter it in other challenges.    I only had a couple of days left to get my entry in.    I just looked and I think I'm going to be entry #99.  What a great turn out for this challenge.

Week 42 PL Pages

I am now caught up on my PL pages.   I even have the title card made for this week and know a couple of pictures I plan to use so finally can rest a bit on that part.   Last week I worked on 3 weeks of PL pages to get caught up.   I'm rarely behind so I'm glad I am now current with 5 days left to go in this week.   WHEW!!!

I'm going to enter page one at "Lasting Memories" for the Challenge #213 'Lists, Lists and More Lists'    I have a weekly card on my first page with a short recap of what was going on every day of this last week.   Including the World Series Scores, since I live in KC and we finally made it back to the big game.

Check out the challenge  HERE   There are still a few days to enter all "Lasting Memories"  October challenges.

Trick or Treat

The grandkids in Texas got my box of Halloween goodies on Saturday and opened them and I immediately got pictures.   I also got a video thank you for them too.    I loved seeing and hearing.

The present challenge at "Lasting Memories" is Trick or Treat or to use Halloween colors.
In this layout I did both.    The pic of the kids with their Halloween treats and bags from Grandma and the Halloween papers/colors/emebellies I used to make the layout.  Be sure and check out the details  HERE  because I bet you can all come up with  Halloween pictures or at least use the colors in your layout.

Beauty

Had to title this layout "BEAUTY" as I do think my daughter is Beautiful in this picture and for that matter all the time.   This picture was taken a few weeks ago in upstate New York while they were visiting there for a wedding.

I used the sketch at "Stuck on U Sketches" as I thought it would do great for some fall colors but also just let me have the main focus as my picture.   I have the sketch below and check out the full details  HERE.

Walk

Sorry about the bad photo but I'm going to be busy until Monday with company so I wanted to get this posted.    We got so lucky with the hotel we picked to stay at in St. Augustine for the night.   It was right by the ocean, just took a little stroll across the dune bridge from our room and there we were on this great beach.   I passed Arthur my camera and he got some great pictures of me.  I'm never pleased with my pictures but these I really liked.   I wasn't sure how the water would feel when I walked in but it was really warm.   I was really tempted to go back to the room and put on my suit and go in further but it had been a long day so I just enjoyed a little walk in the surf.

I used the Week 2 at "Let's Get Sketchy" for this layout.  All the sketches there this month have been great.    You can see this weeks sketch below and check out the details HERE and also see all October challenges while you are on the Let's Get Sketchy blog.

PL Week #41 -- page 2

There is another PL challenge now at "Stuck on U Sketches".   I've never been behind more than 1 week on my PL pages so imagine my fear when I realized this week I was behind 4 weeks counting this one.  Well I have 3 of them completed as of today but this weeks not even started.   So I had plenty of choices for what to do the challenge - "Black, Orange & White" on.   The first 2 weeks I was behind covered my vacation so that was easy, last week was rather boring after that but the fall colors in the neighborhood are beautiful so thought these pictures would work good with the color challenge and could use filler pages with the colors too.

Check out the Project Life challenge HERE  and then see the other October challenges going on.

Watching Big Brother

"The Paper Girls" blog is running an anything go challenge for their Challenge #66.     I had these 2 great pictures of Gibson and Addison so just looked thru some of my favorite 2 picture sketches I have saved and made this layout.   I save my favorite sketches  after I use them but then rarely go back and use again so was glad I looked thru my files.   I'm going to have to do this more often.

"Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges" is also running an anything goes challenge.   So I want to enter this layout there also.     Anything goes is always fun.

These kids play so well together, always sharing and able to do things together so I'm glad I got to scrap these pictures.

You can read the full details of the The Paper Girls challenge   HERE.

You can read the full details of the Scrapping 4 Fun Challenge    HERE.

Yummy

I got these cute pics of Bryce and  Gibson making homemade pizza.  I just love that Gibson has on a Chef hat.  He looks like he was really enjoying the job.    They will be here this weekend so I'm getting as many layouts made as I can to send home with them.   Bryce is always so good about looking at the layouts and really liking them.   Makes a  Grandma happy.
I used the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy - week #3 for this layout.  You can see the sketch below and check out the details HERE and then see all the October challenges too.

Stripping At McDonalds

Yes you read my post title correctly.    I made this layout last night of my grand-daughter, my DIL had sent it to me with a bunch of other pics to scrap.    I took a picture of the layout this morning and texted it to her and said I was stuck on a title.    She wrote back and said that for some reason Addisyn always takes her clothes off when they go to McDonalds and she has to take off her shoes to play in the play house she just wants to take her clothes off too.    So they make sure now she is always wearing a leotard under her clothes.   LOL

I used the Make it Monday #27 sketch at "The Memory Nest"   It worked out well for this single picture.    The twist was to add a stitched element.    I just did some faux stitching down the aqua banner ribbon for my stitching element.

See the sketch below and check out all the details HERE.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner and this week I worked on making Halloween Treat bags for 6 of my grandkids.   I have 3 I have to mail to Texas and the other 3 I will get to give in person this coming weekend to the grandkids from  St. Louis.    I didn't get a lot of Halloween pictures last year of the kids dressed up,  my one grand-daughter at last minute took off her costume before they went out, my grandson from TX took off running with his friends and didn't slow down for pictures and my grandkids in St. Louis, the oldest broke his leg a week before and was in a cast from hip to foot so they didn't dress up and go out.    So just in case anything goes wrong this year and I don't get a lot of pictures to scrap I at least got to make this one.   :)     I can't skip a year in my Halloween album without adding something.
Plus for this layout I'm entering it in 4 challenges .......

1st - I used the Oct. 15th sketch at "Colorful Creations" and their mood board which I was inspired by the pumpkins and the colors of orange, yellow and a touch of green and red.  And I have my Fall leaves/flower centerpiece behind the bags and there are fall leaves on the mood board.

2nd - The die-cut challenge at "Stuck on U Sketches" - Anything Autumn.   To me Halloween is the height of Autumn.   The trees are in full color and there is always a cool nip in the air so that signifies my Autumn.   I have my title die-cut and my little costumed boy on the tag as my die-cut.

3rd - Challenge #81 at "Red Carpet Studios"   Their challenges are always based on movies and for this one it is 'The Haunted Mansion' You had to create a project inspired by Halloween.    Well this certainly fits that.

4th - In my online scrappy group one of our challenges this month was Pumpkins and you had to have pumpkins on your layout.    And I have a page full of those in my background paper.

So check out all the challenges  below and also see the sketch.

Halloween Treat Bags

I spent a full day decorating Halloween Treat Bags for the Grandkids.     Koda, Kai and Mylan all live in Texas so have to get those in the mail the end of the week and then Bryce, Gibson and Addison live in St. Louis and will be here in KC for a visit this coming weekend so I will be able to give them theirs in person.      I really had so much fun trying to make each one a little different and especially going thru my stash of Halloween goodies and using up a lot of the good stuff that I haven't gotten around to adding to layouts.   I got lucky and had sparkly orange Thickers with enough letters to do each one.   Then I've also hoarded some Halloween ribbons and used a lot of different ones of them to add to the bags.      Just added my candy to them and some special little toys and they are ready to go.     Plus I needed to get the candy in the bags before Grandma ate it all.

The challenge at "Scrap & Play" #12 is Spooky.   The challenge was anything that screams Halloween to you.   A card, a layout, home decor, well here are my treat bags I made and for now )(till the cats decide to get in them) set up with my Halloween ceramics on my dining room table.

Be sure and check out the challenge and see what you can enter.   I promise you will have fun.
You can see the details   HERE.

Birthday card

I always need Birthday cards so when I saw the challenge at Sketch-n-Scrap and the sketch said use a long sentiment.   I went to one of my favorite birthday stamps.    Then what else was always fun for me was going thru my scrap drawer and finding papers to use for everything in the card and I succeeded.   That makes me feel good that I saw all these pieces of paper.    Check out all the great October challenges  HERE.

Slip & Slide

Another summer picture of all 3 Greenberg grandkids.    Having fun on their slip and slide.
I thought the sketch at "Stuck?! Sketches" would be perfect for it.   Not usually the type of sketch I jump right into, but this one I did as it was just announced on the 15th and I was working on it on the 16th.   I'm glad I gave it a try because it was really fun cutting out the shapes and I pulled out  misc. scrap cardstock and patterned paper to used on it.   I even used a mixture of blue Thickers on my title to get all the letters that I needed.   Plus its not often I get to use the big & that comes in some sets.
So all in all I'm really pleased with it.   You can see the sketch below and check out the complete details HERE and also read about the 2 great companies, Wycinanka and 7 Dots that are sponsors for this challenge.

BBQ Lunch

One more vacation layout made.   This has been a slow month for me scrapping, just so many other things going on.   But I'm trying to get a lot done including challenge sketches I printed off before we left on our road trip.      This layout was made using Sketch #66 at "Sketch-n-Scrap" from Oct. 1st.
We pulled off at an exit close to Daytona Beach when we were driving from Orlando to St. Augustine and the first thing we saw was this huge RV BBQ Smoker.   We both love BBQ so we knew we would stop here for our lunch.   Funny thing is we had had BBQ the night before but still good here and I got smoked chicken wings and Arthur got their smoked burger and everything was great.   We were both so surprised when they brought out the burger and it had this big  brand on top of the bun.
Very impressive.    Here is the sketch below and you can check out all the months challenges and DT reveals   HERE.

Picnic

My step-son and family are going to be here next week and I promised to have more layouts made for them to take home with them.   I gave them a very full 3 ring album a year ago to keep and ever since then as I get a group of layouts together I take them to them.    My daughter-in-law e-mailed some misc. pictures last week so I've got a variety to work with.   For this layout I used the Oct. 10th sketch  at "Shop Scrap Much" it was such a simple layout but I really like all the ways you can go with it.
I used some Bingo PL cards I had on hand to go with the theme of the pictures of Gibson and Addison outside for a picnic in the park this last summer.   Check out the sketch below and see how you can use it and see the details on the challenge  HERE.

Music

I decided to look for more of my daughters wedding pictures to do for this sketch at "Boys Rule"
I have some more that I know that I need to scrap to complete the album.    One of the first pictures I came across that I hadn't scrapped yet was this of the guitarist that played before the ceremony.
So that was my choice for the layout.    Boys Rule always has a great sketch every month, so be sure and check out the details HERE.

Scrappy Friends

I was saving the week 1 sketch from "Let's Get Sketchy" to work on when we got back from our vacation.   Now that I'm home I'm home I knew I had the perfect picture to fit this sketch.
We took a road trip from KC to Orlando and then with two stops on way to NY.   After our visit with family in Orlando we drove to St. Augustine, FL for one night and some sightseeing.  But most important I had made plans for us to meet up with my online scrappy friend and her husband.   They don't live to far away from St. Augustine and drove up to meet us there for a walk thru the historical district and then for a nice dinner out for the 4 of us.     I've been fortunate enough now to meet 3 online scrappy friends and hope to meet more in the future.   Check out the details for the challenge at "Let's Get Sketchy"   HERE.

Fall Beauty

My daughter and son-in-law went to a wedding this last weekend in upstate NY and posted this picture on FB.   I absolutely loved it.   Great of them and the setting was beautiful too.   So I looked around and found lots of challenges to enter this layout in.

First off I used the Oct 1st schedule at "Stuck?! Sketches" which I loved all by itself but then they had an added challenge if you wished as the paired with "Color Me Scrappy" challenge #71 with a color combo challenge.   But I'm not finished.  I also saw that "Lasting Memories" latest challenge from Sunday is Anything Goes, so I'll enter there too.   Then last but not least at my online scrappy group "Scrappin-N- Chattin" one of the challenges for the month was to use the color orange in the alphas for your title.

Check out the sketch below and also the color combo and then click below for details on all challenges.

River House

We just got home from a 10 day road trip with many short stops.    This is my first layout from the trip.   We got into Savannah, GA just in time for lunch.   We drove right to the River Walk area and parked and found this great place to eat.   The River House, outdoor seating was full so we ate inside. We had a great quiet lunch.   Arthur had the Shrimp Po-Boy and said it was loaded with shrimp.   I had their special soup and salad.   A great lobster and crab bisque and awesome cesear salad.  We both made the right choices for sure.    I used Challenge 11 sketch at "Scrap & Play" to make this layout.   I had taken a picture of the menu so wanted to include it on my layout.  So put it by my journaling.  Check out all the details of the challenge    HERE.    They have an awesome sponsor this month with Bella Blvd.

a day in the life - Chopper

I'm back from a 10 day driving vacation.  We left from Kansas City, with first destination after an over night in Atlanta was Orlando, then St. Augustine and then Savannah and then finally to NY before returning home last night.   So today is laundry and scrapping.   I so missed it.
My first layout is this one for the sketch challenge from Oct 1st at "Sketches in Thyme"   I really liked having the border punch around 2 sides.   I backed the layout with brown card stock to go with my embellies and title.   You can see the sketch below and check out the details of the challenge
HERE.   You have till the end of the month to enter.

Fall 2013

I just finished the Oct 1st challenge at "Colorful Creations"  they had a mood board and a sketch together for this challenge.   I used the fall colors of red/orange/yellow in the mood board and also the leaves.    I just loved this picture of a tree we saw last fall while working in midwest Missouri last fall.   I think we hit this tree at its peak.  I just love Fall colors.
I wanted to get this great challenge made today as we are heading out on vacation in 2 days and probably won't have time to do it before deadline of the 15th.     Check out all the details HERE and join the fun at Colorful Creations.

Kai Making Pots

Yesterday I used a sketch from Let's Scrap for pictures of my grand-daughter making some pottery.
I knew I still had pictures of my grandson from their same outing.  I was really hoping that today when Let's Scrap posted their new challenge that it would be a double page sketch that I could use for his pictures.   My dreams came true.   I had to change up line of pics on page 2 to make it work with what I had but I think I got it all together well.     Check out the details  HERE  you have till Tuesday night to enter your layout.   They also have a special 4 sketch challenge going on this month so be sure and read about it too.
