I’m going to enter this layout a “CHALLENGE YOURSELF” these are pictures from earlier this week.
I'm trying to catch up on making some layouts from some Road Trips my brother and I have taken. This one we drove back to central Missouri from Abilene, TX. We flew there to pick up this blue Mustang that my brother bought there, we took our time driving home and stopped at some Route 66 stops along the way, many we had been to before on a Route 66 vacation but we had some we just wanted to stop at again and this was one in Chelsea, OK. I'm using this for Challenge #730 "2024 Second Chances at "LASTING MEMORIES"
LM #730 - create a layout using a favorite challenge from 2024 or a challenge you wanted to play along with but missed the deadline.
I went back to challenge #708 - Scrap Your Favorite Scrapping Topic and for me that is always Road Trips and Vacations.
I'm catching up on some small trips from last year. My brother and I did a day trip just hours from home and went to Maramec Springs. It had been decades since I had been there. I made this layout with just pictures of him and will give to him for his album I keep adding too.
I used the "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG" sketch for this layout and then played along with the tic-tac-toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY". I did the diagonal Ephemera, 3 photos and brads.
My brother and I have been busy getting his house all decorated for Christmas this year as we will have a full family vacation with everyone together for the first time in 7 years and now two more grandkids have been added. There will be 17 of us and traveling to Columbia, MO from Sydney, Australia, Dallas, TX, Miami, FL and upstate New York.
I will add this to the challenge #131 at “SCRAP-CHALLENGE-YOURSELF”. I have the picture of myself with the Christmas wreaths we put on the front door and then I did a grid layout background.
Scrapping is slower the last couple of weeks with my husband having surgery and then a few complications, but hopefully on the uphill now. I made this layout today of some fall tree’s in the neighborhood I got pictures of yesterday.
I’m entering this layout at “LASTING MEMORIES” for challenge #723 to use items that have been in your stash for 2+ years. I’m not sure how old these fall collection papers and tags and stickers are but I haven’t bought any new fall collections in probably 4 years.
For this week's challenge, we are taking our inspiration from FALLING LEAVES and saying out with the old!
LM #723 - Use an item that's been in your stash for 2+ years.
I’ll be entering this layout at “LASTING MEMORIES” Challenge #724.
LM #724 - Find inspiration in the growing crops by using ascending sizes of paper strips or shapes OR create a colorful ombre design to symbolize the growth.
I made this layout for the “LASTING MEMORIES” challenge #722.
Hello, hello! Welcome to OCTOBER on the Lasting Memories Challenge Blog! This is design team member Brandi Jo, inviting you to join us this month as we celebrate fall with all things autumn. Each week, we will bring you a new challenge inspired by one of the many signs of the season.
For this week's challenge, we are taking our inspiration from PUMPKINS.
LM #722 - Create a layout using at least 50% orange and include a round element.
This was taken last year on a two day trip my brother and I took to pick up a car he had bought, we flew to Texas and then drove home with a couple of Route 66 stops for us.
I made this layout for the Scrappy Friends October double challenge. First the sketch by “ROCHELLE SPEARS”
and then Tic-Tac-Toe at “SCRAP WITH STACY” I did the left column, Wood, Word Stickers & Tag.
Just sitting on our screened porch enjoying a great Spring afternoon, nice breeze and a nice view.
I’m entering this layout at “CHALLENGE YOURSELF”.
With the challenge #129 being to create a layout using lots of Patterned Paper that is just what I did, no card stock at all. I have 6 different patterned papers I used. From my background down to the gray marbled pattern paper around my picture.
I also used the sketch at “SKETCH AND SCRAP” Facebook page Crop #1 sketch for September.
We got to the Will Rogers Museum in Tulsa before it opened but we still got to walk around the grounds. I would love to go back again and into the museum, I’m sure it would be really interesting. I made this layout with some of the pictures I took while walking around. I’m entering this at “LASTING MEMORIES” for challenge #714 - Olympic Rings. I have 6 circle rings cut and added around my pictures.
I used the June pagemap sketch at “SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF” for this layout.
Pictures of myself at one the specialty dinners on our cruise. We were sailing in Alaska and had such great views from our table as we had a great seafood dinner.
We just got back this week from an Alaskan cruise so I have all kinds of pictures to scrap.
I’m entering this layout at “SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF”. I have a picture of myself and my hubby and to go with the challenge I fussy cut my embellishments, the passport/ship/wheel, the cruising vibes with ship top and also the vacation vibes and wheel.
I used the sketch at “ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOGSPOT” for this layout so will be adding it there for the Scrappy Friends challenge because I also did the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at “SCRAP WITH STACY”. I did the middle column down, Wood - Arrow - Washi Tape.
I was inspired by the spring flowers and the pink and pale green colors.
I made this layout using the challenges with Scrappy Friends. I used the sketch at "THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS". What a fun sketch this was to work with. I'm going to be saving it to use again sometime. I can see me filling it with 6 pictures next time.
Next I used the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY". I did the bottom row across 3 or more pictures, Chipboard (my tile and embellishment in center right square are both chipboard) and Tag.
I just love finding murals, old or new on the side of buildings. Finding this display last spring in an alley way in Springfield, IL. Then I found out they do this every year with new murals so I will have to go back to see more again.
This was such a simple double page layout to make but I loved the background papers I found to use and then just added some matting to go with the color on each mural and my pages were finished.
I used the Color Palette Challenge #123 at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF".
We had a road trip planned to go to the Colorado Rockies in October 2022 but unforeseen circumstances forced us to cancel it. So October 2023 around my husband's birthday we rescheduled the trip and had a fantastic time. I think it was even better because the weather was better at the dates we went than what we had looked at when we cancelled in 2022. We did day trips out from a Denver suburb where we stayed for 5 days and just explored all we wanted to see in the surrounding areas.s This picture was from our first full day and a long drive exploring the Rocky Mountain National Park.
I used the challenge for February at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF" in making this layout.
