Autumn Leaves
We got one more boat trip in before we winterize. The weather was perfect and the leaves were all turning and it was just a peaceful and scenic ride we both enjoyed so much. I took a lot of pictures of all the fall color and then as we were coming back into our dock I snapped this one o our house and all the trees surrounding it.
I used sketch #345 at "SKETCHES IN THYME" to start my take on the sketch with this layout.
Here is the sketch.

NYC Traffic
We are just home from an 8 day road trip to New England and today I'm starting layouts from our trip. Our first real stop of the tree was in Scarsdale, NY just north of the city to visit my mother-in-law for a couple of days. So this layout just shows some of the traffic we hit going into the city.
A little different than what we have here at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri.
I used the sketch for October at "THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS SCRAPBOOKING" It worked out great to show two pictures of us sitting in traffic after we crossed the George Washington Bridge and then going thru the tunnel.
Here is the sketch that I used.
Home
We got back home from our Road Trip to the East coast yesterday evening and today I'm ready to start some layouts from the trip. But for this sketch I'm using from "SKETCHES IN THYME"
I decided to do the last page of those that I will make first. Funny how things work out.
Here is the sketch #346 and link to the challenge at "SKETCHES IN THYME"
Office Party
I made this layout of my granddaughter Mylan at her Mom's Office Halloween party they had for all the employees kids. Loos like a lot of fun there. I will be entering this layout in two challenges, a sketch challenge and a Halloween challenge.
I used the October Blend-A-Sketch challenge at "SCRAP OUR STASH" Plus I also used some Diagonal Patterned Paper on my layout which was part of the challenge. Here are the sketches you had to combine. I used the background design in sketch one and then the rest is more like sketch 2.
Challenge #162 at "THE PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGE" is Halloween. I have lots of pictures already of Halloween early parties of my grandkids so this challenge is great for these early holiday parties. I'll be making more this week for sure.
Challenge #162 - Halloween
Hi, Karrie here, and welcome to my favourite time of year, and favourite challenge to host!
Halloween and all things spooky and full of fall fun!
Do you have some Halloween shots from last year you never got to document?
Do you make decorations or treat bags? Have you taken beautiful shots of the changing
colours, pumpkin patch or the kids playing in the leaves or corn maze?
We want to see whatever you've got!

PL card sketch in layout
Over the many many months that I've been using the sketch challenges posted on the blog at
"SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFE STYLE" I have always used the sketches just to make special cards for my PL pages. But for this sketch by Shawn that was the first sketch for October, Sketch #111 was the one I decided to use it on a layout. I've seen so many people do this with the sketches but I have never tried it. I decided to give it a try and I really like the results.
Here is the link to "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE" and the sketch I used.
PL Title
We leave tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. on our 8 day Road Trip vacation. But when I saw
Sketch #112 first thing this morning at "SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFE STYLE"
I decided to go ahead and get my title card done for my first PL page of upcoming vacation
pictures. This sketch was perfect for a title card for this trip.

Pumpkin Carving
My first Halloween themed layout for the year. My granddaughter Elle with the pumpkin her Mom and Dad carved for her. She wasn't overly thrilled with the process and all the pumpkin "guts" but did manage to pose for one cute picture.
I'm going to enter this at "SOUL-SCRAPPERS" for their Pick 3 challenge. The list to choose from was...... Torn Papers, Tag, Ribbon, 3 or more pattern papers, a punched shape, buttons, sequins.
I used 4 items from the list. I have a tag I used for journaling, The black Happy Halloween ribbon diagonally across middle of the page, a punched shape, my pumpkin and I used 3 different patterned papers.

State Fair Food
When my grandkids were out of school on Columbus Day this year, their Mom took them to the Texas Start Fair and they had plenty of fun and lots of fun food during the course of the day.
For this first layout about their day I used the October 15th sketch at "LET'S GET SKETCHY"
Hold Me Papa
My granddaughter Elle got scared from a noise here Dad made and she ran to her Great Grandfather and into his arms for comfort. I just love the bond they have.
I'm using this layout in two different challenges. I started with my take of the sketch #163 at
"SKETCH N SCRAP" I changed it some and instead of a large circle behind the pictures I wanted to use a large heart to go with my pictures.
Then my 2nd challenge is "LASTING MEMORIES" #417 - Breast Cancer Awareness, I chose to use mostly pink on my layout for the challenge.
LM #417 - October Events - Breast Cancer Awareness

I got an e-mail full of pictures of my grandkids from Texas yesterday. So today I started with these 2 pictures of my granddaughter, Mylan and her soccer team from this year.
The latest sketch, sketch #344 at "SKETCHES IN THYME" was perfect for the two pictures I had.
Here is the sketch and the link to the challenge is in the name above. Check out all the sketch challenges they have this month.

Up & Down
I thought these were cute picture of my granddaughter. Trying out the tricky way to walk up steps on the side with her Mom and then running free and fast down the hill after she made it too the top.
I'm entering this layout in two different challenge.
First I used the sketch at "SKETCH N SCRAP" I tried to pull all the colors from the back ground patterned papers with the card stock I used behind the pictures, both the large pieces and the matting I dd on each piece and also on my double matting on the pictures.
Then there is the challenge at "SOUTHERN GIRL CHALLENGE" to use stripes on my layout.
Which I combined two different uses of stripes with my background patterned paper.
"SKETCH N SCRAP"

Happy Halloween Card
I made another Halloween card this morning using the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge #412 at
"THE PAPER PLAYERS". For this card I used the center column and I have Patterned Paper,
a Pumpkin and the color Orange/Rust.
I'm having so much fun this month making cards, I'm usually more into layouts but I love making holiday cards and this is the time of year for that.
Here is the link again to "THE PAPER PLAYERS" and the tic-tac-toe board.
Happy Halloween
"SKETCH N SCRAP" has a great card sketch on their blog today that Heather made. I went right to work on using it to make this Halloween card. Got to use up a lot of scraps and that is what I love about making cards. I hope you try out this sketch too, it's a great one.
Plus be sure and check out the layout sketch posted on the first and another card and layout sketch will be posted later in the month so keep checking back.
A Study in Concentration
The peg game at Cracker Barrel kept my 20 month old granddaughter entertained for a good 15 minutes while waiting for our food to be served. She played and played, would take them all out one by one and stand them on end and then one by one put them back in the wholes and then start the whole process over again. Of course I got more than enough pictures of her doing this and made this layout using 4 of them.
I will enter this layout at the Anything Goes Challenge #125 at "SCRAPPING 4 FUN CHALLENGES"

Just a Note
I made this card today using the "CAS-UAL FRIDAYS" sketch #209 to make this card.
I had several sentiments stamped and in a drawer and pulled out about 4 of them I might use.
Then I went and got my washi tape to see what I could use on the card and first roll I picked up
was this piano key tap so I knew exactly which stamped sentiment I would use for this
sketch. Now I'll just have to decide who to send it too.
Here is the sketch.
Googly eye card
I made this Halloween card for my granddaughter Mylan and it works for the "STINKIN' INKERS
CHALLNEGE"
So our theme for this month is:
"The Eyes Have It"
I have eyes on my patterned paper and then google eyes on my wizard die-cut.
Eat Pie
I decided to work ahead on a Thanksgiving card today because I thought it was what would go
great with three different challenges I wanted to enter it in.
First is a card sketch challenge at "STICK IT DOWN"
-------------------------------------------
The second challenge is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at "THE PAPER PLAYERS"
I did the left side column, leaves, ribbon, die-cut.
