Walk

Sorry about the bad photo but I'm going to be busy until Monday with company so I wanted to get this posted.    We got so lucky with the hotel we picked to stay at in St. Augustine for the night.   It was right by the ocean, just took a little stroll across the dune bridge from our room and there we were on this great beach.   I passed Arthur my camera and he got some great pictures of me.  I'm never pleased with my pictures but these I really liked.   I wasn't sure how the water would feel when I walked in but it was really warm.   I was really tempted to go back to the room and put on my suit and go in further but it had been a long day so I just enjoyed a little walk in the surf.

I used the Week 2 at "Let's Get Sketchy" for this layout.  All the sketches there this month have been great.    You can see this weeks sketch below and check out the details HERE and also see all October challenges while you are on the Let's Get Sketchy blog.

PL Week #41 -- page 2

There is another PL challenge now at "Stuck on U Sketches".   I've never been behind more than 1 week on my PL pages so imagine my fear when I realized this week I was behind 4 weeks counting this one.  Well I have 3 of them completed as of today but this weeks not even started.   So I had plenty of choices for what to do the challenge - "Black, Orange & White" on.   The first 2 weeks I was behind covered my vacation so that was easy, last week was rather boring after that but the fall colors in the neighborhood are beautiful so thought these pictures would work good with the color challenge and could use filler pages with the colors too.

Check out the Project Life challenge HERE  and then see the other October challenges going on.

Watching Big Brother

"The Paper Girls" blog is running an anything go challenge for their Challenge #66.     I had these 2 great pictures of Gibson and Addison so just looked thru some of my favorite 2 picture sketches I have saved and made this layout.   I save my favorite sketches  after I use them but then rarely go back and use again so was glad I looked thru my files.   I'm going to have to do this more often.

"Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges" is also running an anything goes challenge.   So I want to enter this layout there also.     Anything goes is always fun.

These kids play so well together, always sharing and able to do things together so I'm glad I got to scrap these pictures.

Yummy

I got these cute pics of Bryce and  Gibson making homemade pizza.  I just love that Gibson has on a Chef hat.  He looks like he was really enjoying the job.    They will be here this weekend so I'm getting as many layouts made as I can to send home with them.   Bryce is always so good about looking at the layouts and really liking them.   Makes a  Grandma happy.
I used the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy - week #3 for this layout.  You can see the sketch below and check out the details HERE and then see all the October challenges too.

Stripping At McDonalds

Yes you read my post title correctly.    I made this layout last night of my grand-daughter, my DIL had sent it to me with a bunch of other pics to scrap.    I took a picture of the layout this morning and texted it to her and said I was stuck on a title.    She wrote back and said that for some reason Addisyn always takes her clothes off when they go to McDonalds and she has to take off her shoes to play in the play house she just wants to take her clothes off too.    So they make sure now she is always wearing a leotard under her clothes.   LOL

I used the Make it Monday #27 sketch at "The Memory Nest"   It worked out well for this single picture.    The twist was to add a stitched element.    I just did some faux stitching down the aqua banner ribbon for my stitching element.

See the sketch below and check out all the details HERE.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner and this week I worked on making Halloween Treat bags for 6 of my grandkids.   I have 3 I have to mail to Texas and the other 3 I will get to give in person this coming weekend to the grandkids from  St. Louis.    I didn't get a lot of Halloween pictures last year of the kids dressed up,  my one grand-daughter at last minute took off her costume before they went out, my grandson from TX took off running with his friends and didn't slow down for pictures and my grandkids in St. Louis, the oldest broke his leg a week before and was in a cast from hip to foot so they didn't dress up and go out.    So just in case anything goes wrong this year and I don't get a lot of pictures to scrap I at least got to make this one.   :)     I can't skip a year in my Halloween album without adding something.
Plus for this layout I'm entering it in 4 challenges .......

1st - I used the Oct. 15th sketch at "Colorful Creations" and their mood board which I was inspired by the pumpkins and the colors of orange, yellow and a touch of green and red.  And I have my Fall leaves/flower centerpiece behind the bags and there are fall leaves on the mood board.

2nd - The die-cut challenge at "Stuck on U Sketches" - Anything Autumn.   To me Halloween is the height of Autumn.   The trees are in full color and there is always a cool nip in the air so that signifies my Autumn.   I have my title die-cut and my little costumed boy on the tag as my die-cut.

3rd - Challenge #81 at "Red Carpet Studios"   Their challenges are always based on movies and for this one it is 'The Haunted Mansion' You had to create a project inspired by Halloween.    Well this certainly fits that.

4th - In my online scrappy group one of our challenges this month was Pumpkins and you had to have pumpkins on your layout.    And I have a page full of those in my background paper.

So check out all the challenges  below and also see the sketch.

Halloween Treat Bags

I spent a full day decorating Halloween Treat Bags for the Grandkids.     Koda, Kai and Mylan all live in Texas so have to get those in the mail the end of the week and then Bryce, Gibson and Addison live in St. Louis and will be here in KC for a visit this coming weekend so I will be able to give them theirs in person.      I really had so much fun trying to make each one a little different and especially going thru my stash of Halloween goodies and using up a lot of the good stuff that I haven't gotten around to adding to layouts.   I got lucky and had sparkly orange Thickers with enough letters to do each one.   Then I've also hoarded some Halloween ribbons and used a lot of different ones of them to add to the bags.      Just added my candy to them and some special little toys and they are ready to go.     Plus I needed to get the candy in the bags before Grandma ate it all.

The challenge at "Scrap & Play" #12 is Spooky.   The challenge was anything that screams Halloween to you.   A card, a layout, home decor, well here are my treat bags I made and for now )(till the cats decide to get in them) set up with my Halloween ceramics on my dining room table.

Be sure and check out the challenge and see what you can enter.   I promise you will have fun.
