Pack Your Bags and Let's Go

 

Working on layout for the cruise we just finished.    This will be my first page for the album with the picture of our bags being packed and ready to load into the car for an early start the next morning on our drive to Florida.

I used the March 2023 Sketch + Stash Challenge at  "SCRAP OUR STASH".

THE CHALLENGE:

Look for the Sloth

 We just got home yesterday from a 10 day cruise and today I started making layouts for the first time since the end of February.    This was my first layout I made from the trip.     I used the sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"

And I combined this layout with the challenge at  "LASTING MEMORIES"   So I made this layout of the one sloth that we could easily see on one outing in Costa Rica.

LM #640 - March Happenings - World Wildlife Day

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Lasting Memories! I hope you are having a good weekend.

It's a new month and that means we have a new theme and a new group of challenges for you to try. It is my turn to provide the theme and the challenges for the month and this month we will be celebrating some special days in March that you just might not know are special! 

Here is our first challenge:

LM #640 - March 3rd is World Wildlife Day - create a layout and add an animal to it in some way. This can be an animal on your patterned paper, in your photo, or an embellishment.

*You do not have to scrap about an animal - but you can if you want to! Scrap a zoo trip, a pet, one of my granddaughter's nicknames is Goose - so I could scrap about how she got her nickname or add a goose sticker to a layout about her, etc., she also loves squirrels so I could add a squirrel to a layout. Just some ideas!

Game Time

 "LASTING MEMORIES"  is having color mood board challenges this month and Challenge #637 is Gimme The Chocolate.   I covered the palette of the M&M's in this layout with shades of yellows, blues, greens, pink/red and even brown in my photos.

Big Family Christmas in 2005

 This is for the  " LASTING MEMORY "   Mood Board #639.   I used the Red and White colors from the mood board.

Gymnastics

 

This was a fun layout to make combining the Scrappy Friends challenges.

I used the sketch at "ROCHELLE SPEARS SCRAPBOOKING"

Then I used the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY"  I did the middle row across.               

Washi (black & white to sides of two paper squares)  Stickers (3 puffy sticker stars on the pictures) and then I used a Stencil on the hot pink cardstock on bottom part of layout.

Happy Birthday Barbara

 

My stepdaughter Barbara celebrated her birthday on a family vacation in Clearwater, FL.   Her brother and his family got to fly in from Missouri to help her celebrate too, so she had a great birthday.

These are pictures from the actual day and her daughters gave her presents in bed and a birthday crown to wear, and then later on the beach they tied balloons to the umbrella where they were all sitting.

I used the February sketch & stash challenge at "SCRAP OUR STASH"  the stash part was to be sure and add hearts to the layout.   I have the cutout heart, two puffy sticker hearts between the pictures and then 5 mini hearts down the center of the cut-out heart.  

For this challenge, you are to create a layout inspired by this sketch and you 

MUST INCLUDE:

HEARTS

on your layout.

I love Hippos

 

My 8 year old granddaughter's favorite animal is Hippos and it has been for at least 4 years.   This past summer they went to the Cincinnati Zoo where they have a great Hippo display and spent a couple of days there and Dylan got a full vacation of hippos and activities involving them.

The February double page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN"  was perfect for all the photos they took of Dylan and the Hippos.
