Jacob L. Loose Memorial Park

It was hot yesterday but we had a free day with nothing planned so we drove over to Loose Park to see the rose gardens.    I had been there several times when I lived in Kansas City before,  but my husband never had.    The roses were about a week past their peak but was still nice to walk around and see everything.

We picked up the brochure about the roses and of course brought it home in case I could use it on a layout.   Well I sure did.   The June 1st sketch at  "LET'S SCRAP"  was perfect for it.   Luckily before we left I stepped back and took a picture of the entrance of the park and then cropped it down and printed a 3.25x13" picture of it and used it for my layout title.   I added 3 different chipboard crimes around 3 of the pictures, a special flower tag and then also copied and reduced the big center picture in the brochure of the layout of the rose garden area.    Viola' one completed double page layout.

Check out all the details at   "LET'S SCRAP"  and see what the design team made.   There is also a great prize this month a $20 GC to Closet to My Heart.

Cute, Cute and Cute

What a cute family is my stepson and his wife and their oldest son Bryce.   Plus I just love getting good pictures of them to scrap because Nikki just loves that I bring her new layouts every time we go and visit them.   So this one will be added to what is ready for next time we see them.

Once again I'm using the May sketch at "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES".   This has been such a versatile sketch and today I even got to use it with a different kind of background paper that had some design on it that I didn't want to cover up.

I went to my old stash this time using My Minds Eye - So Sophia collection.   I think it came out in 2010.

Here is the sketch and check out the great prize and what else is entered here at  "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES.

Daisy Scouts

I loved finding these pictures of my grand-daughter and her first year of Scouting.    I hope she continues.   I know I had a lot fun ions and ions ago when I was a scout.

For this layout I used the Guest Designer sketch for June at   "THE SCRAP ROOM BLOG"
I had 3 pictures I wanted to use so using the 3rd one as a circle was perfect.''

Here is the sketch and check out all the details    HERE.

Wedding Dance

When I saw the challenge sketch today at "THE MEMORY NEST" my mind went round and round on what to do for a long title.  I loved the sketch and the challenges here so I knew I wanted to make a layout using it.    So the thinking cap went on first thing.   Then I remembered some recent paper stacks I had gotten that had several long titles or quotes or word groupings on them.     I started looking through two  of the collections and I found this one in the Mambi stack of
"I Love the Life We Live'    and cut out this title to use.     Even though I have made enough to fill a wedding album from my daughters wedding 2 years ago it never hurts to add another one to it.
Because this title I felt would be perfect for a picture of the newlyweds dancing together at the reception.  So then I started just pricing it all together.   I found the background white and black paper in the DCWV stack called Jet Black.   I also cut out the xoxo piece from that collection and just double matted it.  The other papers behind the pictures  are all from scraps.    Then for fun I just added a piece of lacy ribbon across the lower part of the layout.

Here is the sketch and just go to  "THE MEMORY NEST"  to see what the design team did to

The Announcement

My daughter and son-in-law just announced 2 weeks ago that she is pregnant with their first child.

With family spread out all over there were some FaceTime chats with people and a delivery of the frame to my Dad in person to tell him he was going to be a great grandfather.    Then 2 days later I was in town and she told me that she had some memorabilia for me to scrap about and she handed me the test stick.    I haven't used the stick yet but I did take a picture to add here.

I used the newest sketch at "ELLE'S STUDIO" for this.   It was perfect for these two pictures.
I used the  Elle's Studio Penelope collection  for this.   I even used the tear strip and added it down the right side and another one like it to the right of the pictures    The solid hearts were cut out of the paper that had the hexagons on it and then one heart from the grid paper.    But I wanted to match my embellishments by using hearts like on the background paper and also match the colors.
The heart at the top right is on the background paper, I just used an exacto knife and cut it some so I could slip my strip behind it and the hearts be on top.

Here is the sketch and go to  "ELLE'S STUDIO"  to check out the whole blog.

Mini Golf Card

Here is the PL card I made for my reveal today at "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"
I think this might be the first time I've ever added any real stitching to a PL card.   But this was fun and I did what I call a shoelace stick because I thought the background paper already kind of went with my daughters dress and then the stitching this way was like it also.    So a win win for me.

Then here is my complete PL page that I used the card on.   This page covers this last week from
Mothers Day to today.

Here is the PL card sketch for this first week of June.   Check out the details and look everyday for a new reveal using this sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"

Life is Sweet

With my stepdaughter and family living in Orlando and we are in Kansas City we don't get to see them often or get a lot of pictures.  But when they post something on FB I'm so glad to see the pictures and get to make layouts for them.    These were taken a couple of weeks ago while they took a beach vacation to Ft. Lauderdale.

This is my reveal for the June 1st sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"     I just got these papers of the Carta Bella - Beach day collection so was great to use the first page.    I wasn't sure if I would have a use for this pineapple paper, but then I had this wood veneer title on my desk 'Life is Sweet' so I thought it would work great with these pictures.     I have other pictures of just the kids on the beach that I'll use more of this collection from.

Check out the sketch below and be sure and join in this great challenge and use this sketch by Bev Code.    Plus check back every day for another reveal from the other design team members.
You can see it all right here at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"
