I made this for the "CSI Case Number 400"
I was inspired by the multiple colors and the image of the red heart Christmas cookie in the case file.

This was the Christmas card my parents sent out in 1957 with my brother and me sitting in front of our fireplace in our home. I have to laugh looking at this as my brother was about 6 weeks shy of being 2 years old and I wonder how many pictures they had to take to try and get him sitting calmly there. Obviously this must have been the closest he got to it.
I'm entering this in the challenge at "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF" the challenge was to use a Black and White photo and of course to include a picture of yourself.
I am also entering this at "COLOR STORIES INSPIRATIONS" CSI Case File #400.
I was inspired by the circle of Christmas embellishments around the clock, my patterned paper is in a circle of embellishments around my center picture.
The St. Louis family got to travel to Florida for 4 days while Dad attended a work conference, the kids got to hit the beach and have some fun.
I used the Dec. 15th sketch at "SCRAP OUR STASH" for this layout.
I found these pictures in a box of old pictures the other day and realized they were from my first birthday so I had to scrap them.
I used the challenge #629 at "LASTING MEMORIES" with B&W photos and monochromatic colors I used mostly shades of pink.
Hello, hello! Welcome back to Lasting Memories - we are so happy that you have stopped by today!
It is time for our third challenge of the month. For December we are revisiting some of our most popular challenges of 2022 according to Inlinkz. Our third most popular theme of the year was January's - New Challenges/New Ideas. For this week's challenge we have combined two challenges from January.
LM #629 - New Challenges/New Ideas (January 2022) Create a monochromatic layout and use black and white photos. Neutral colors are allowed (black, white, off-white, kraft, and grey).
My son and his girlfriend were in Amsterdam in November, first for a business meeting and then some extra day on their own to enjoy the area.
I'm entering this layout at "LASTING MEMORIES" for challenge # 630 = Shapes
Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Lasting Memories - we are so happy that you stopped by today. This will be our last challenge of the month - and year! The design team will be taking the next couple of weeks off to enjoy the holidays. We will be back on January 1st to kick off the new year with fun new challenges for you.
Before we get to this week's challenge, we sadly have to say goodbye to one of our design team members. Deanna is stepping down from the team. She has been a part of the Lasting Memories family for almost five years sharing her beautiful work with us each week. It has been a pleasure working with her and we wish her all the best. Many heartfelt thanks to you, Deanna, for being a part of our team for so long.
We also want to say a big thank you to our December guest designer, Jill! It has been a pleasure working with Jill this month and I always enjoy seeing her beautiful work!
Now, on to this week's challenge.
For December we have been revisiting some of our most popular challenges from this year - according to Inlinkz. Our fourth most popular theme was from April and was our shapes theme. Here is this week's challenge:
LM #630 - Shapes (April 2022) - Create a layout and choose one of the following shapes to feature on it:
Triangles, circles, hearts, or hexagons
(this can be one big shape or your chosen shape used multiple times across your layout - for example - a big circle on your background, or lots of different-sized hearts all over your layout, etc.).
I made this double pages of pictures of when our daughter and family went to the parents weekend at camp where their daughter went this past summer.
I used the double page sketch at "STICK IT DOWN" for this layout. This is a double page sketch that I will be keeping to use again.
I made this layout for the "LASTING MEMORIES" Wedding Challenge. Use something old, something new, something borrowed something blue. The old is all my patterned papers, the new is the puffy hearts and stars I added, something borrowed is the sketch I used, it's an old one I saved from Scrapbook.com and the blue is on my title.
Hello, hello! Happy Sunday to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend.
It's time for our second challenge of the month. Our theme for December is "Favorite Challenges from 2022" and our second most popular theme for 2022 was - Wedding Inspiration - so this week's challenge is:
LM #628 - Wedding Inspired (May 2022) - Create a layout and use something old, something new, something borrowed (either scraplift someone or use a sketch, etc.), and add something blue.
Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Lasting Memories - we are so happy that you have stopped by today! I can't believe that it is already time for our last theme and our last set of challenges for 2022. This year has gone by fast! Let's get to it.
For December we will be revisiting some of our favorite Lasting Memories challenges from 2022 - according to how many played along with us each month - and our challenges will be based on those themes. The month of March saw the most entries, so our first challenge of December will be from our "Love Your Stash" challenges.
LM #627 - Love Your Stash (March 2022) - Create a layout and use 3 or more patterned papers, stickers (this can be any sticker - puffy, chipboard, or cardstock stickers), trim (washi tape, ribbon, twine, etc.), punches/die-cuts/ephemera, and finishing touches (enamel dots, brads, sequins, bling, splatters, etc.)
I used the challenges with Scrappy Friends for this layout the sketch at "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG"
and then the tic-tac-toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY" I did the middle column, Puffy Stickers, Two Photos and Snowflakes.
I made this layout of a couple of a couple of grandkids getting ready to carve their Halloween pumpkins this year. I made this layout with the challenge at "SCRAP OUR STASH" in mind. The Wheel of Challenges for Dec. 22 was a shape challenge. I have diamond shapes in my background patterned paper and then I cut out 4 diamonds on the right side of my layout.
I keep chronological albums for all holidays and when I was putting layouts away for this Thanksgiving, I realized I didn't have anything for the two years before. I'm sure I scrapped this picture but I must have put in my general album I keep going too. So I made this one picture layout for my Thanksgiving layout.
This was our Covid Thanksgiving where everyone stayed at home and celebrated on their own. I know I've scrapped the picture below too but I put it in the album for my granddaughter and her family as I fill as I go and then pass on to them, but now I will have their Thanksgiving in my holiday album too.
Either one really would have worked but I'm entering the one of my husband and our Thanksgiving for the single page sketch challenge in December at "STICK IT DOWN".
We went to this event called Glow in St. Louis Tuesday night at the Missouri Botanical Gardens and it was fantastic. I had seen pictures of it from other years so I was excited to be going. Of course I was also thinking about the great scrapbook pages I could make from the pictures I took. I knew I wanted to get a Picture of myself to use for the Challenge at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF" so this is the picture I decided to use for the challenge and then I wanted to use for the challenge. The sketch challenge at "SCRAP OUR STASH" was perfect for it. I gave me a chance to make a photo into a circle and scrap it that way.
"CHALLENGE YOURSELF" I did the journaling in my own handwriting
"SCRAP OUR STASH" I did faux stitching around the two black word circles.
I made this layout for the Scrappy Friends double challenge. I love the sketch by Rochelle Spears and then the Tic Tac Toe Board at Scrap with Stacy. I did something different for the two outline rectangles I used two different ribbons to make them. Thats something I've never done.
"ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG" Sketch
"SCRAP WITH STACY" Tic - Tac - Toe ( Bottom Row=Journaling, Flowers & Faux Stitching)
The November Wheel of Challenges at "SCRAP OUR STASH" is a color challenge, they are perfect fall colors and also in the challenge you had to add leaves to your layout. Of course I had leaves in tow of my patterned papers, but I also added a fabric leaf and two shiny leaf brads for embellishements. Below is the color wheel with the challenge info.
And next Challenge #470 Halloween or Black/Orange is the October 31st challenge at "USE YOUR STUFF" and I made this layout of pictures of just our evening outside around the fire pit and my daughters house and we had a wagon full of treats curbside for the kids and the moon was beautiful to look at through the crook of the tree branches.
Last weekend my brother and I went on a Route 66 Challenge through a county in Missouri that the old Route 66 travels through. It was so much fun and we had 9 challenges to find the location and then do the challenge. First in this picture is a Road Block we had to complete and pick up a mis-addressed Amazon package, next was reconcile your checkbook challenge (I aced that) and another one was to fold the US flag correctly at the County Museum. We had so much fun doing all the challenges.
I used the Pagemaps sketch for Challenge #106 at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF" for this layout and I'm in all 3 pictures, which is a big rarity. 😁😁😁.
I tried to combine the color mood challenge at "LASTING MEMORIES"
I tried to combine all the colors in the Mood Board/Color Inspiration for week #3 at "LASTING MEMORIES"
LM #621 - Mood Board/Color Inspiration - Autumn Colors - Create a layout using the mood board/color inspiration photo below. Choose as many colors as you would like and neutrals are always welcome!
I made this layout with the October sketch at "SCRAP OUR STASH" I have my background paper with circles and the pink strip on the right has polka dot. So covered both choices to include just for fun.
I used the challenges at Scrappy Friends to make this layout. The sketch is from "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG" and then the Tic-Tac-Toe board at "SCRAP WITH STACY" I did the diagonal from top left to bottom right Circles, Four Photos and Tabs.
I used the double page sketch at "STICK IT DOWN" to make this layout. I had just the right amount of pictures that our daughter-in-law posted on FB Saturday after their annual fall trip to go apple picking. I just love this time of year and all the great activities to do with the kids.
Now, on to this week's challenge. For September our theme has been - Out of your comfort zone - and we have been challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different this month. Our last challenge for the month is:
LM #618 - Tools - we all have tools in our craft rooms that we never use. Perhaps you bought the latest punch board but it's still in the wrapper or your Cricut is collecting dust. Let's pull out those tools and put them to use this week!
I thought this photo was going to work great with the September sketch at "SCRAP OUR STASH". I had gold and black paper I could use to go with the picture and scraps to use that would work too. I also made sure to add two journal tabs that was a requirement with the sketch.
Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! We are smack dab in the middle of the holiday weekend here in the US and I hope that - regardless of where you are - you are having a great weekend.
It is time for a new challenge! Our theme for September is - Out of your comfort zone - and we are challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new or different. These challenges won't be too specific because each person will need to evaluate their own scrapbooking and do something different from their typical layouts. Here is this week's challenge:
LM #615 - Color - we all have colors that we dislike or find difficult to scrap with. Perhaps yellow isn't your cup of tea, or you find purple difficult to use. Choose a color and use it as the main color on your layout (you may include other colors as well).
I made this layout this morning for a facebook group I am in for our monthly 24 hour challenge. I'm also going to use it at "LASTING MEMORIES" for their challenge #617 - Out of Your Comfort Zone - Embellishments. I rarely use a lot of embellishment and rarely cluster them either. But I used a lot of ephemera that came with this collection even for my title and then used 8 other pieces as embellishments, much more than I ever use.
LM #617 - Embellishments - We tend to stick to the same embellishments on our layouts. Perhaps you use mostly stickers and chipboard but rarely use wood veneer. Maybe you're obsessed with enamel dots and don't use flair or washi. For this week, choose embellishments that you rarely use.
