Ride

Elle loves this tricycle she got at Christmas and the best part of it for the adults is the handle behind it the high so you can stand upright and push her.   It's a good thing because she could sit and ride on this inside and out all day long.

I used the sketch challenge  SC123 for June at   "SOUL SCRAPPERS"   only a couple of days to enter so I'm glad I got it made.    Here is the sketch.

Chanukah 2016

I'm still finding some old pictures I want to scrap for my step-daughter and family before they come to visit us the end of July.   I sure hope they have extra room in their suitcase because I have a massive stack of layouts for her to take home.

I'm entering this at  "LASTING MEMORIES" for another of their Stash Busting challenges in June.   Challenge #400.   I must have really used all of my rub-ons in the past because the only thing I could find that would come close to working with this layout is the two silver snowflakes I added to this layout.

LM #400 - Stash Busting - Rub Ons

Hello, everyone! Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads out there!

We are back today with our third challenge of the month and it is our 400th challenge overall!

Our theme for June is "Stash Busting"  and today our challenge is:
LM #400 - June 17 - Stash Busting - Rub Ons.  Add some rub ons to your layout.

Shaker Card

I made this Shaker card for my youngest granddaughter  to send her for July 4th,  I thought she would have fun with it.

I'm entering this card in three different challenges.

First challenge is   "TUESDAY THROWDOWN"  Challenge # 398 - Interactive card.  I would say a shaker card is definitely interactive.

Next is  "JUST ADD INK"   Challenge #414 is Just Add a Window/Frame.     I have framed out the shaker card and  a clear window over the beads.

And last but not least is  "PILE IT ON"  Holidays and/or Layers.   I have both on my card.

July 4th card

Today is make my July 4th cards and I have lots of inspiration and different challenges my card will work for.

I'll start with "CAS-UAL FRIDAYS"     Here is their photo inspiration #CFC202.

Next is "SHOPPING OUR STASH"   Challenge #360 is

Shopping Our Stash #360 - Red, White & Blue

That means the predominant colours we want to see on your project are...you guessed it...Red, White & Blue (you can use one, two or all three)

And my third challenge entry is at  "PILE IT ON"  where they always encourage you to combine their challenge with as many others as possible.

Pile It On! Challenge #143 - Holidays and/or Layers

Our new challenge for you is Holiday. Feel free to be inspired by a fun, random holiday (not Birthday). Since it's the 3rd Sunday of the month, it's time for our monthly optionalbonus theme: Lots of Layers. You can choose one or both themes, and you may enter the challenge as many times you like, as long as you are inspired by at least one other Challenge theme.

Cleaning the bike or maybe Water Fun

After Elle's Dad took a long bike ride out on county roads early Fathers Day morning.   He came home and had Elle helps him wash his bike off.   I'm sure Jason got his bike clean but it looks to me like there was a lot more water fun for Elle, while she sprayed the bike, her Dad and herself.
I'm entering this at   "THE PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGES"     Challenge #154  is Bicycles.
So  I have Jason bike in the photos and I also have a strip of patterned paper bicycles going down the left side of the left page.   You have four more days to enter.

Here is the challenge at   "THE PAPER GIRLS "

Challenge #154 - Bicycles

Summertime is in full swing and one thing we do around here is get out our bikes!
That's my challenge for you this time!

Read

I made this layout with my interpretation of Bev Code's sketch #329 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"

I just love this picture of Elle,  it looks like she wanted to do a little reclining while reading the other day.    Her Mom and Dad don't put her in this rocker anymore but its still sitting out so every now and then she just gets in on her own and relaxes.   It might just be because I'm Grandma but I just think she is adorable no matter what she is doing.   Thus the fact that she has lots of layouts already made and filling 3 albums now and is only 17 months old.

Here is the sketch I used at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"

Dare

Made this layout about my daredevil granddaughters on the rock wall and then climbing across the rope bridge.   Looks like they were having fun.

I used sketch #330 from  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for the layout.    Here is the sketch.

Crave the Wave

I got these pictures of my granddaughters from Orland last night off of Facebook after they had gotten home from a weekend get-away to Great Wolf Lodge.    So when I saw the Summer Swim challenge at  "BITTEN BY THE BUG 2"  this morning I knew it would be perfect to scrap these pictures and use the challenge.    I pulled out my  'Life is a Beach' cartridge and got to work.  I cut and made the mermaid,  cut a wave border and then cut the Crave the Wave title.

Here is the link info for the challenge at   "BITTEN BY THE BUG 2"

Wonderful Fun

I love mixing patterned papers so when I saw the last June challenge today at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  I was ready to play along.

I used a couple years old collection  Life is Beautiful by Fancy Pants for everything on this layout other than the black card stock to mat my pictures.   The collection had some fun colors and patterns and also embellishments so everything worked out great for these pictures of my granddaughters down in Florida at a special kids lunch out.

Here is the link to  "LASTING MEMORIES"  and some more information about the challenge.

LM #401 - Stash Busting - Paper Stash - use at least 5 patterned papers on your layout.  All challenges are due 6/30.

Fathers Day PL card

When I first saw the new sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFE STYLE"   I wasn't sure how I would use it because I don't necessarily do a weekly PL page but just running pages through out each month.   But I was ready to start my next page starting with two pictures from our Fathers Day at home so I decided to make this card to go in the pocket between the two food pictures of what we made special for the day.

Here is the sketch and the link to challenge #104 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"  and following that the full PL page I made to finish the week.

Mount Rushmore

Still making layouts from our Mount Rushmore road trip back in 2006.   When I looked at the album earlier in the week I knew I had room to make lots more layouts.   So I used the July 15th sketch at
"LET'S SCRAP" for these awesome scenic pictures.  Plus the one of my brother taking his picture of Mount Rushmore.  LOL
It's hard to put into words how break taking it is here but I was very pleased with how my pictures came out and the deep blue of the skies.
Here is the sketch and like to  "LET'S SCRAP"    You still have 10 days to enter using this sketch or
the one from June 1st.

Rushmore at Night

Not the best picture in the world but since I'm catching up on scrapping our trip to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore from 2006 I had to be sure and include this night time picture.   If you have never been there you have to be sure and visit both during the day and night.   It's just breathtaking.

I used the mid month June sketch challenge at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"   it was perfect to showcase one single picture.

Hiking

The last couple of days I've been working on filling in my album from a family road trip to Mount Rushmore and area back in 2006.   This trip was a couple of years before I started scrapping so I hadn't scrapped all  my pictures yet.
I concentrated on my brother and daughter for these picture while we were all out hiking in some area in South Dakota.   It was so fun getting out in nature for the day.

I made this layout doing the June's Blend-A-Sketch Challenge at  "SCRAP OUR STASH"
Besides blending two sketches you ned to use either star paper or star embellishments.  I had this paper already on my desk so I went with it and then added five different wood veneer stars for my embellishments.

Remember Fathers Day 2018

I've had a lot of groups of pictures lately that I can use to make double page layouts so the June 1st sketch at   "LET'S SCRAP"  was perfect for these that my son just sent to me of him out with his two kids on this Father's Day.    For a hot day in Fort Worth this Fathers Day it looks like they found a lot of cool water features to be around.

Here is the sketch and the link to the challenge at   "LET'S SCRAP"

Since I'm scrapping pictures of how my son spent his Fathers Day with his kids I am also going to enter this layout at  "PILE IT ON"    Challenge #143 Holidays and/or Layers.  I did do the bonus theme also of layers on this layout too.

Here is the link and info on this challenge at   "PILE IT ON"

BBQ

Sometimes I just have to make a food layout and this was one of them.    I took a picture of the menu and then of our two plates together.  Arthur had 3 BBQ meat combo with fries and I went with the 4 ribs and 4 wings, but my plate came out with 6 wings.  I had more than enough to bring home and eat later too.   This was our 2nd time at Wobbly Boots, there are just so many "non" chain places to eat at the lake and we are loving trying a lot of them.

I used the June 8th sketch #328  at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  it was perfect to have two pictures and with the menu picture it was the one to have the food picture overlap on it.

Here is the sketch and the link to  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  .

Then & Now

I don't scrap many pictures of just myself but I wanted to enter the challenge #54 at
"SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF" which was to use a present picture and a childhood picture of yourself.    But first I wanted to wait and find the right sketch to use with it.   Today the newest challenge came out at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  Sketch #155 was perfect for the pictures I had already picked out.

I wanted to use yellow patterned paper to go with the short set I had on in my Then picture, it was by far my favorite summer outfit for many years.  I wore that till it was all but thread bare.   But then I also wanted to incorporate some blue to go with the blue water from my now picture.  So I tore the edges of the yellow, hopefully to look like little waves on the lake and then backed it with blue patterned paper.   I added the bright blue scalloped card stock and some bling and a yellow flower for the touch of yellow again.    Plus this sketch had me using washi tape that I rarely used.

It was so fun to put these two challenges together and to look back at an old picture of me and document about it.

Here are the links and challenge info.

Happy Father's Day Jason

I made this Father's Day card this morning for my son.   I decided to personalize it a little more with his name in mini alphas at the top.
I used the #1Dad cricut cut from the Celebrate With A Flourish cartridge.   I have used this cartridge for him before for birthday and Father's Day cards using the fish and pole cut and the set of golf clubs cut, both hobbies of his.  But this time I decided to go with this.   He is such a good Dad to his son and daughter and I'm so proud of him.

I will enter this card at the latest   "BITTEN BY THE BUG 2"   Challenge which is appropriately  a Fathers Day Challenge.

FATHER'S DAY

Welcome to a new week and a new Cricut Challenge!
This week Laurie is our host, and she has chosen Father's Day as our theme.
We'd love to see your creations linked up below.

Remember:
Use a Cricut die cut or print and cut on your project.
You can use other SVG cuts, dies, stamps etc as well.
Can't wait to see your creation!  Have fun!

Happy Fathers Day Dad

This morning I was busy making my Fathers Day cards,  I needed to make 3.  I had to get them made and to the Post Office to mail.   Two go to the same state I'm in and could make it on time, the other one goes to my son in Texas so he will probably get his late.  Especially since I live and mail from a small town.

Anyway I did luckily remember to get pictures of the cards and this one I will enter in 2 different challenges.

#1  "STINKIN' INKERS CHALLENGE BLOG"  the newest challenge is  'The Guys Have It'
and my Dad sure does, he is the Best Dad I could ever imagine.   We just celebrated his 95th birthday last weekend with Margaritas to go with our dinner which was one of his requests.   :)
So this Fathers Day card is perfect for him.

#2  "FABULOUS CRICUT CHALLENGE BLOG"   This weeks challenge #328 is Father's Day.
Or course you have to use at least one cricut cut on your project.   I used this  #1 Dad cut from my all time favorite cartridge 'Celebrate With a Flourish'.   Plus the cut' #1 Dad describes my Dad to the tee.

Click on the above links to go to the challenges.

Lunch

I just spent  a long weekend with my granddaughter so have a lot of pictures to scrap.   I  am
starting off with this using the single page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN"    It was perfect for my main picture showing that cute face coved in her lunch and then four little pictures I snapped while she was eating.

Here is the sketch and link to   "STICK IT DOWN"

Tubing

Didn't get a lot of pictures of the grandkids tubing but did get enough for a layout.
Bryce the oldest could go alone and then he took both his little brother and little sister out with him at different times.

I used the sketch #154, the first layout sketch for June at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  it was perfect that
I got to use 3 pictures and include everyone.

Here is the sketch and like to  "SKETCH N SCRAP"

Sunset View

I am entering this in the "OFF THE RAILS SCRAPBOOKING" Challenge.    This is a Mood Board challenge.   I was inspired by the pictures of the water and sunset and I used my own sunset on the water picture for my layout and also the colors in mood board.

Here is the link to   "OFF THE RAILS SCRAPBOOKING"  and the mood board for the month which features, Water, Sun and Bikinis.     Good think I spared you the bikini picture and just used sun and water.   LOL

Pro Golfer

I can't wait to show my Dad this layout, he loves playing golf and to see these pictures of his
great-granddaughter with a golf ball and clubs he will get the biggest kick out of it.

I used the  June 1st sketch and to used Chevron paper prompt the layout to make this.     Here is the link to this paper/sketch challenge at  "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOGSPOT"

Boating

I have new pictures of the grandkids to scrap from when they were here at the lake with us over Memorial Day weekend.  I didn't get as many as I would like because we kept pretty busy with fun things to do.

I am entering this layout in 2 different challenges .   I started out with the June 1st sketch at
"LET'S GET SKETCHY"   and then added stash elements on the layout from the prompt stash at  "LASTING MEMORIES".

Here is the sketch from  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"    so fun to work with, its a keeper for me.

Then at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  this month the prompts are all about using your stash  busting and this first week here is the theme.   I used Nuvo paint drops around my layout to look like water drops.

Our theme for June is - Stash Busting - and our first challenge is:

LM #398 - Paints and/or Mists - show us how you use paints and/or mists on your layout

Make a Splash

Last year at 6 months my granddaughter Elle wasn't that enthralled about getting into the swimming pool, but now a year later she LOVES it and wants to get in every day.   I can't wait till I get there Friday and will have 3 days to swim with her.

I made this layout for the challenge at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"     it's the Mystery Bag challenge.
Here is the list of titles you had to choose from for your title and then you had to be sure and add a mermaid to your layout.    I had so much fun with this layout.
