Boy's Rule April Sketch

Gibson's 2nd b'day was in January, we weren't there but got these pictures off FaceBook and hadn't scrapped them yet.    The April sketch from Boy's Rule worked perfectly for the pics so here is my layout.    Sure looks like Gibson was having fun.

Wild Kingdom

I used the great sketch #89 from Sketchablities to do this layout.    My grandkids and some friends were at their neighborhood park yesterday for the Wild Life on the Move exhibit.   I would have liked to have seen the bird but would have passed big time on being up close and personal.

I'm also entering this in my yahoo scrapbooking group    scrappin-n-chattin for one of the April monthly challenge to use a TV title as your layout title.   So these were perfect pictures to work for this.

Thank You Card for April sketch at Sampler Kit Club

When I finished my layout for the April sketch at www.samplerkitclub.blogspot.com

I decided to just go ahead and use some of the same paper that I had out and make a Thank You card.

Seems I can always use them and nothing could be easier since my supplies I used were mostly in front of me.    It was such a great sketch and one I can use over and over again in many different ways.

Help YourSelf

I found a great sketch today at  www.samplerkitclub.blogspot.com  for their April Challenge.

Couldn't resist scrapping this picture I got yesterday on Facebook of my Grandson.

He took the meaning  "Help Yourself" to a whole new level when at age 2 yrs and 3 months

got into the refrigerator on his own to have a snack of yougurt.

Mani-Pedi Time

I found these pictures on FB of Mylan taken last year.   They just describe my little diva granddaughter to a tee.    I used the April sketch at www.scrapourstash.blogspot.com       It might be hard to see but I did a triple faux stitching in white, red, white ink.    I pulled out an old old collection for this layout.

Kai Ice Skating

I made this layout today from a sketch in my yahoo scrapbooking group and for the "Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits" blog where the challenge is to use 5 patterned papers.    4 of the strips are patterned and the background paper is patterned.    I loved the challenge of combining the different patterns and also the fact that I got to clean out scraps for this from my scrap drawer.    Always good to know that

I save them and finally get to use them.

Side Trip to Gettysburg

Here is another layout from our trip to DC and area.    I made this layout for a combination of 3 challenges.     I started out using the April sketch at     www.granddivasscrappyplace.blogspot.com

Then for the challenge at   www.scrappinhappy.blogspot.com, the recipe was to use hand stitching, use a punch and used mixed alphas.     All of which I did.

Challenge #3 is at     www.devosmoomy.blogspot.com    and the challenge there was to add something that flies.

There were a total of 4 possible challenges and if you used at least 2 of them you are added in for drawing for a bonus prize.   I was really pleased that I managed to do 3 of the 4.

Library of Congress

Still working on layouts from our Road Trip Vacation to DC.   I'll be entering this for my 3rd entry of the travel challenge at "The Paper Girls Challenge blogspot.

We got to see so many great things while there.   This was the first time I had been inside the Library of Congress and to say it is beautiful is an understatement.

Ford Theatre tour

Another layout from our road trip in March to DC.    We stood in line for over an hour to tour the Ford Theatre,   this was one of the places Dad wanted to see so off we went.    The tower of books was quite impressive, it was a copy of every book ever printed about Lincoln.   It's rare that I save and scrap memorabilia from a trip but my daughter always scraps hers so I'm learning from her and kept all our tickets and brochures on places we went on the trip.     I am also entering this for the travel challenge at

Road Trip - 1st Stop

The newest challenge just announced today at the Paper Girls Challenge.

www.thepapergirlschallenge.blogspot.com

is for travel layouts.    This is perfect for me because I have all my pictures printed from our

road trip from Missouri to DC less than 2 weeks ago.     This layout is at our first planned stop

on the trip.    The AirForce Museum in Dayton, OH where we had spent our first night out on the road.

We had a great time seeing all the planes, old and new.

Painting

Here is the layout I made this morning for the Lasting Memories - Use Your Stash Challenge for this week.     LM#135

I definitely used my stash,  I got all of the papers I used from the DCWV  "The Stack Collection #5"

probably one of the first collections of paper I bought, but I had enough left for this to all go together.

It felt great to use some of my old papers instead of just hoarding them all.

Decisions Decisions Decisions

Love this picture of my granddaughter Mylan and the expression on her face trying to decide on her

choice of candy in the candy store.   I used the great April sketch at Artful Delight.  ASC#31    I just got out some card stock, Thickers, bakers twine for stitching and leftover scraps of patterned paper and I was ready to go.      I did rotate the sketch to fit my picture.

Like Father Like Son

I have always loved this picture that I found on my son's FB page from 2009,   the quality of the original is not really good, rather blurry, but still knew I wanted to make a layout from it.

I used a wonderful original sketch by my online friend Theresa Neubaum from the yahoo group "Scrappin-n-Chattin" and I am entering it "It's about a Boy" challenge blog.   The April 1st challenge was to use Chevrons.   So here it is.

Jason Spring 1981

Since I'm thinking Spring and Flowers and Warm Weather,  I found these pictures of Jason at this great-grandmothers house in March 1981.   I remember he was drawn to the flowers on this Dogwood tree and thinking he could hide behind them, so I got these photos of him and McKeever.

I'm entering this layout at "Lasting Memories" for their childhood memories challenge #134.

Nothing better than a memory of my son and our dog at my grandmothers.
