Silly Girl

I used sketch #517 at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout.     No special event I just thought these were cute pictures of my granddaughter out on a walk with her Mom and Dad last weekend.
You never know what her expression is going to be.

Last Day of Elementary School

Our grandson is so excited that this is his last day of 5th grade and Elementary school.    He is ready to move up to Junior High.

I used sketch #516 at "SKETCHES IN THYME" for this layout,  It was perfect to frame his happy picture.

Here We Go Route 66 Road Trip

I made these two double page layouts today from postcards I bought of all the states were going through on our Route 66.     The placement on the cards worked out perfect because of car trouble with the vintage 1966 Mustang we drove on our trip, we only made it half way through Oklahoma before we had to cancel the rest of the trip and have a friend come and get us with a trailer and tow the Mustang back home.
The journaling on my 2nd double page layout tells that part of the story and how we will finish these states as soon as we can get the time to take off again.

These layouts also worked out great for the new challenge today at "LASTING MEMORIES"  the last challenge there for May is to use something blue on your layout.   I picked a blue card stock for the background of my layouts to go with the blue background of the postcards I was going to be using.

LM #600 - Wedding Inspiration - Something Blue

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Lasting Memories! May is flying by and it is already time for our last challenge of the month. We hope that you have enjoyed our wedding inspiration challenges this month.

Before we get to the last challenge of the month, I want to thank our two talented guest designers for joining us this month - Amy Jo and Cheryl. I have loved seeing their layouts for each of the challenges and hope that they continue to play along with us.

For the month of May we have been following the lines of the wedding rhyme - Something old, something new, something borrowed...and that brings us to this week's challenge:

LM #600 - Something Blue - use something blue on your layout.

Are We There Yet?

Another picture from our shortened Route 66 road trip.   We started at home in central Missouri so this was a stop still in Missouri in Joplin.   I made this layout for the Scrappy Friends challenges.

I started with the sketch at  "THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG"    I rotated the sketch to work with the format of my picture.

Then for the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at   "SCRAP WITH STACY"   I used the middle row across,    a single photo,   ribbon/twine  and stars.

Mickey Mantle

We had a 13 day Route 66 and beyond road trip planned starting last weekend but because of car trouble we only got two full days into our trip.    But we still saw a lot in those two days and this was one stop we made in Oklahoma.  You couldn't go into the house but you could look through the window on the front door and that is how I got the living room picture.

I'm entering this layout in two challenges.

I used the sketch and prompt at  SCRAP OUR STASH.

And then I did the challenge at LASTING MEMORIES  - Something Old.    I still have lots of My Minds Eye - Tres Jolie collection from 2007.   Everything but the adventure circle and the butterflies are from the collection.

Road Trip

My brother and I just got home from the first part of out Route 66 Road Trip.     We ended up after two full days with car problems so had to give it up for the time being but we will get out on the road again this year and do the full trip we had planned.     But now that I'm home I'm starting to do layouts of what we did get to stop and see those two busy sightseeing days.

I will be entering this layout at "LASTING MEMORIES"   for their challenge #598 - Something     New.    My something new was a new trip but mainly, everything on this layout, paper, title and embellishements is from a new Carta Bella collection that just came out in May.   I had it ordered and ready to use just for this trip.    The collection is called "Road Trip"

The theme for this month's challenge is to complete the sentance:  I Love . . .
We want to hear about anything that you love!  And please remember to include a photo with YOU on your layout.

I LOVE THIS MEAL

I made this layout with the challenge #101 at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF" in mind.     I love going out to eat for a great meal and Mexican is a favorite of mine.   We hadn't been to this restaurant since we moved back here a year ago because the location had moved.   But we went there a couple of weeks ago and it was just like I remembered, great food, great atmosphere and great margaritas, so we will be going back soon.

The theme for this month's challenge is to complete the sentance:  I Love . . .

We want to hear about anything that you love!  And please remember to include a photo with YOU on your layout.

Hunting Easter Eggs

I used the great May double page sketch at "STICK IT DOWN" for this layout.    Got to use all of my favorite pictures of my granddaughter hunting eggs this Easter.
