 More Route 66 layouts completed today.    For this one I did my take on the Sketch #523 by Shawn Lahr for the first challenge for July at  "SKETCHES IN THYME".

 Another layout from our one day mini Route 66 trip, to see some places in Missouri close to home.

I used Sketch #524 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME".

Food Truck

 

It was a good thing this Food Truck had great food because we were in the middle of a very hot week in Missouri for mid May.   It was 90 degrees when we stopped for lunch and temps were going up.

I used sketch #526 by Jenessa Franco at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout.

Family Trip

 

We went to see our son and family this last weekend and his in-laws were in town too.   So we all had so much fun.   Was extra hot out, so with the exception of going out to eat, we stayed inside except when the "girls"  went shopping briefly.   Our granddaughter Addison called it the "Grandma trip"

 I can't believe my oldest grandson is now 16.      Crazy how fast they grow up.

Navigator

 

I have a list now of pictures I want to use for my album of our Route 66 trip this year and this is one I wanted to get made.   I loved the binder my brother put together for the trip with  a section of printout of all our planned stops along the route, another section showing each stop and mileage in between and total mileage per days.   Another section was a print-out of all our hotel reservations, and train tickets for our side trip to the Grand Canyon and finally the last section of just info about Route 66.     I also had a specially made small notebook for keeping notes about the trip (yes it was originally planned for 2020 and then with Covid we postponed it 2 years.   Then finally as the navigator I had our passports so I could keep track of which stop on our trip we could get the passport stamped.

I did my own take on the Single Page Sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN".

I made this double page today of my daughter and family out at a Chrystal and quartz mine digging for one of the days they were down in Arkansas for a long weekend camping trip a couple of weeks ago.

I used the July double page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN"  for this layout.

Then I also used the Challenge at  "LASTING MEMORIES" - Opposites Attract - Large and Small.    I have a large title and then smaller embellishments and smaller size photos 3x4.

4 Teeth

 We are going to go this weekend to see our grandkids in St. Louis, so I'm finishing up what layouts I'm going to take to them.    This happened just this last week.   4 teeth lost between the two of them in 7 days.

I used sketch #525 in  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout.

 This layout is todays 31 days of Sketches at  "PAPER ISSUES FRIENDS & FANS" and then I picked my paper strips to go with the Challenge #608  Opposites Attract - Spots and Stripes at  "LASTING MEMORIES".     I loved working with this because all the thin stripes of paper are from tear strips that I have been saving.

I had fun with the July Scrappy Friends challenges.    I used the sketch at  "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG"  Rochelle always has a great sketch to use, I've saved many of them to use over and over again.    And then I combined the Tic-Tac-Toe Board at   "SCRAP WITH STACY"  by using the diagonal of  1 photo, Circles and Metal (2 metal deco brads)

I'm going through older and recent pictures of my grandkids in Texas to finish up an album that their Aunt will take to them when she sees them on a camping trip this coming weekend.     These pictures were from last Thanksgiving when they were here in town and Kai was moving his Dad's truck to a different parking space.  He didn't have his drivers license yet and his Dads big truck was a little intimidating but he did it.

I used Sketch #252 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout.

Summer Job

 

My almost 16 year old grandson has a job this summer in Dallas at a Fast Food place called Poki Bowl.

His Mom took his picture on his first day as he was making up her order, the small picture is the bowl she got.    It sure looks fresh and yummy to me.
