Smiles from Addisyn

I love  my granddaughter Addison's smile and it is so sweet in this picture out at the park.    Not a lot of background on this pictures.   I just pulled it off of Facebook because i knew it would be so sweet on a layout.

I went with the week 3 sketch at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  it was perfect for a single picture.

Here is the sketch and go to "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  to see this challenge and all 4 weekly challenges for June.    "Freckled Fawn" is the prize sponsor this month.

The Great Outdoors

I should have lots of pictures of this camping trip the whole group went on last weekend (not me, I was smart enough to say no to camping in high 90 deg heat)   But there were 7 family members out there and they all took pictures.   So I should be getting a lot more.   These were just a few they sent me while on the trip.

I used the June sketch at  "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES"  you have until July 14th to enter you layout.    I like working with good double page sketches and this was one for sure.

Check out all the details here at   "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES"   and here is the sketch.

I'm a Scrapping Junkie

This is my reveal for this weeks challenge at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  The prompt is "I Love to....."    Well I love to scrap.   I think of it as my 9-5 job as I get my coffee and come in here to start my day and scrap and scrap and scrap.    I'm totally addicted but I couldn't be happier.   I absolutely love every minute I spend in here.    Overtime hours or weekend hours are even welcome.    :)

This title and the square of scrappy words I got a couple of years ago in a swap and I've just been
waiting for the right time to use it.     I'm so glad I am finally using it on this page.

So check out all the details here at "LASTING MEMORIES"   and see what the other design team members have made.   Still have about 4 days to enter this challenge and all the ones from June.

Soccer Season

Looks like the boys were having a great time at their year end soccer get together for food, fun and team pictures.

I used the June 15th sketch #107 at "SKETCH-N-SCRAP"   for the inspiration to make this layout.
I just used 4 pictures instead of 3.

Check out this sketch and the other weekly challenges at   "SKETCH-N-SCRAP"

1st Sonogram

Be prepared world, my daughter is pregnant and due in January.   So there will be pregnancy pictures to scrap and then once the baby is here, layout after layout after layout.

I happened to be in town where my daughter and son-in-law live when they went for the first sonogram so I got to see the actual pictures.   Then they took these pictures as they were leaving the appointment and worked out perfect for the layout.

I'm entering this for the Scrappy Girls challenge and got to use all 3 prompts.

The sketch from "GRAND DIVA'S SCRAPPYPLACE"

The prompt from "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG"  I used butterflies in my paper and embellishments.

The 3rd prompt is from "CREATING WITH PAPER & MORE"   the mood board. I used the colors of blue, pinks, greens and yellow and was also inspired by the washi tape picture and used some of that on my layout.

Tiny Dancer

My granddaughter is so excited to be able to take dance lessons.   This was her first class and she had all her dance clothes on and so excited around the house before she got to class.    So glad they got this picture of her in her class,  it is just perfect.

Week #2 at   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"    was the sketch I used for this layout.

I pulled out some old papers to use too.   My Minds Eye-Tres Jolie was where I found the best pink papers to use.   I got lucky and found the journal card in with all my PL cards and the colors worked great.    I added a Cosmo Cricket tag tied with pink ribbon and a silky black grey ribbon,  two Recollections butterfly gems and my October Afternoon alphas.   Some brown ink around the edges finished off all I needed for the layout.

Here is the sketch and check out all the details at   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"   for this weeks challenge and the new sketch every week.    Freckled Fawn is the sponsor this month.   So join the fun.

Silly Selfies

I thought this was such a cute grouping of my daughter-in-law and grand-daughter.   It looks like they were having a lot of selfie fun that day so I thought it would be fun to make a layout for their album to capture this memory of fun times.

I used the Make It Monday Sketch # 62 at  "THE MEMORY NEST"   I printed my single picture
to 4x4 site and then double matted it with the 2 shades of blue that I used for the matting of my other patterned papers.

I used papers from various Jellibean Soup collections,  I took pieces and scraps from 4 different collections but I think they all went together well.   I used a couple different alphas from my stash
and then I thought the perfect embellishment were the chipboard cameras.

Here is the sketch and check out the details at  "THE MEMORY NEST"     Try it out and you will have a chance to win a $10 GC to The Memory Nest.

Love ya bunches card

I just finished this card a bit ago.     I used the sketch #241 at  "FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES"
It has so many possibilities to go with it, but this time I kept it very basic.   Although I'm sure I'll be using it again in different ways.

Then I am also going to enter this card in the  "THE COLOR THROWDOWN"  challenge #397.
I used the color palette for this challenge of tan, yellow and green.    It was a great color combo to work with.  I'll use it again too.

So be sure and check out both challenges.   "FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES"  and also
"THE COLOR THROWDOWN"

Fathers Day Card

Before I run out of time I got a couple of Fathers Days cards made today.     This one I will send to my Dad.    I used the sketch at "FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES"

I will also enter it at "JO'S SCRAP SHACK" for their Fun-Day Friday challenge.   This week the challenge is "Father's Day"

Happy Birthday Dad

I made another layout yesterday about my Dad and his 93rd birthday.   That layout just had pictures of him and his cake.    This layout I made to give to my daughter because she was there to celebrate with him, along with my brother and nephew.     I'm seeing all of them tomorrow.   So whenever I go there I take whatever layouts I have made for her with me.     She has quite the collection of albums going now.

I used sketch #106 from  "SKETCH-N-SCRAP"  for this layout.   I really liked the simplicity of it and that  I got to used 4 pieces of patterned paper on it.   I used papers from Amy Tangerine - Plus One collection and Amy Tangerine - Finders Keepers collection.   They worked well together.

Here is the sketch and go to  "SKETCH-N-SCRAP"  for details on all the challenges this month.

Smithville Lake

This was a big layout to complete for me.   I get to enter it into 6 challenges.

I started with the prompt for my reveal today at "LASTING MEMORIES"   with the continued theme of All About Me, this week it is 'Let's Take A Selfie'.    I am really not a selfie person, probably because I have short arms.   But luckily I took this selfie of my hubby and I setting on a picnic table out at Smithville Lake, where we took a drive to on one really nice day in early May.    Plus we took the convertible out and it was great to be out in the fresh air while walking around and while in the car.   It was nice to just have a different kind of day out with nothing planned.

Then the challenge #105 at "THE PAPER GIRLS"   is 'The Great Outdoors'   This was perfect for this layout because we really had a nice spur of the moment trip to the lake and enjoyed walking around a new area.   I had been there many time but my husband had never been there, so we circled the entire lake in the car and got out several times to enjoy the great outdoors.

Next is the challenge #30 at  "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"   I have to take advantage of this one because I don't often have pictures of myself to scrap since I take them all.   Besides having to use a picture of yourself the challenge was to use geometric shapes and patterns.   so I have covered with my circles and patterned papers.

For this layout I used the June sketch at DCWV and the Seaside Yacht Collection.  It was full of circles and the one picture but I added two circle pictures to show the views where we were sitting.

Next on the "PAPER ISSUES"  Blog I used 5 items from the 'Take 5' list.   I used the color white, color blue, patterned paper,  ink and a picture other than a person.

And finally I will enter this in my yahoo scrappy group "SCRAPPIN-N-CHATTIN" where one of the challenges for June is to use at least 3 circles on a layout and I have that one well covered.

Everything about this layout is rare for me.    Like  taking a selfie, using pictures cut in circles, and then being able to link this layout in so many challenges.     Plus I guess there is one more because over at another yahoo scrappy group I am in  "SCRAP WITH FRIENDS"  there is also a prompt to share every scrappy items you make each month.

Happy Birthday

Yesterday was my Dad's 93rd birthday.    I wasn't with him as I'll be seeing him in 2 days, but my brother and my daughter and son-in-law and my nephew went over to take him out to dinner and they also took a birthday cake with them to have for dessert.     They saw these candles that said 29 again, but was perfect they just reversed the number.   I had told them to be sure and take pictures for me so I could make a birthday layout and they sent me several.

I'm going to enter this layout in the    "SCRAP OUR STASH"   June 1st book inspired challenge.

From the title of the book I pulled the surprise part.    Because they did surprise Dad with the cake for his birthday.  He loved having his son and 2 of his 4 grandkids with him to celebrate.  I also have pops of yellow in my layout with my matting and some yellow in the kraft paper background and the washi tape too.   And I really do think the yellow does "POP" on this layout.

Hello Hollywood

I just finished this layout with my take of  the week 1 June sketch at   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"   I  had this picture of my grandson Kai from a trip he took to California earlier this year with his Mom.
I used the Simple Stories - Say Cheese II papers to make it .   I thought it was perfect for the pic with him with the Hollywood sign prop.   I think this must have been at Universal Studios,  I believe is where the picture prop is.

Check out the sketch below and click  HERE  for all the details of the challenge.  Freckle Fawn is the sponsor for the month of June.

Jacob L. Loose Memorial Park

It was hot yesterday but we had a free day with nothing planned so we drove over to Loose Park to see the rose gardens.    I had been there several times when I lived in Kansas City before,  but my husband never had.    The roses were about a week past their peak but was still nice to walk around and see everything.

We picked up the brochure about the roses and of course brought it home in case I could use it on a layout.   Well I sure did.   The June 1st sketch at  "LET'S SCRAP"  was perfect for it.   Luckily before we left I stepped back and took a picture of the entrance of the park and then cropped it down and printed a 3.25x13" picture of it and used it for my layout title.   I added 3 different chipboard crimes around 3 of the pictures, a special flower tag and then also copied and reduced the big center picture in the brochure of the layout of the rose garden area.    Viola' one completed double page layout.

Check out all the details at   "LET'S SCRAP"  and see what the design team made.   There is also a great prize this month a $20 GC to Closet to My Heart.

Cute, Cute and Cute

What a cute family is my stepson and his wife and their oldest son Bryce.   Plus I just love getting good pictures of them to scrap because Nikki just loves that I bring her new layouts every time we go and visit them.   So this one will be added to what is ready for next time we see them.

Once again I'm using the May sketch at "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES".   This has been such a versatile sketch and today I even got to use it with a different kind of background paper that had some design on it that I didn't want to cover up.

I went to my old stash this time using My Minds Eye - So Sophia collection.   I think it came out in 2010.

Here is the sketch and check out the great prize and what else is entered here at  "MY CREATIVE SKETCHES.

Daisy Scouts

I loved finding these pictures of my grand-daughter and her first year of Scouting.    I hope she continues.   I know I had a lot fun ions and ions ago when I was a scout.

For this layout I used the Guest Designer sketch for June at   "THE SCRAP ROOM BLOG"
I had 3 pictures I wanted to use so using the 3rd one as a circle was perfect.''

Here is the sketch and check out all the details    HERE.

Wedding Dance

When I saw the challenge sketch today at "THE MEMORY NEST" my mind went round and round on what to do for a long title.  I loved the sketch and the challenges here so I knew I wanted to make a layout using it.    So the thinking cap went on first thing.   Then I remembered some recent paper stacks I had gotten that had several long titles or quotes or word groupings on them.     I started looking through two  of the collections and I found this one in the Mambi stack of
"I Love the Life We Live'    and cut out this title to use.     Even though I have made enough to fill a wedding album from my daughters wedding 2 years ago it never hurts to add another one to it.
Because this title I felt would be perfect for a picture of the newlyweds dancing together at the reception.  So then I started just pricing it all together.   I found the background white and black paper in the DCWV stack called Jet Black.   I also cut out the xoxo piece from that collection and just double matted it.  The other papers behind the pictures  are all from scraps.    Then for fun I just added a piece of lacy ribbon across the lower part of the layout.

Here is the sketch and just go to  "THE MEMORY NEST"  to see what the design team did to
inspire you.

The Announcement

My daughter and son-in-law just announced 2 weeks ago that she is pregnant with their first child.

With family spread out all over there were some FaceTime chats with people and a delivery of the frame to my Dad in person to tell him he was going to be a great grandfather.    Then 2 days later I was in town and she told me that she had some memorabilia for me to scrap about and she handed me the test stick.    I haven't used the stick yet but I did take a picture to add here.

I used the newest sketch at "ELLE'S STUDIO" for this.   It was perfect for these two pictures.
I used the  Elle's Studio Penelope collection  for this.   I even used the tear strip and added it down the right side and another one like it to the right of the pictures    The solid hearts were cut out of the paper that had the hexagons on it and then one heart from the grid paper.    But I wanted to match my embellishments by using hearts like on the background paper and also match the colors.
The heart at the top right is on the background paper, I just used an exacto knife and cut it some so I could slip my strip behind it and the hearts be on top.

Here is the sketch and go to  "ELLE'S STUDIO"  to check out the whole blog.

Mini Golf Card

Here is the PL card I made for my reveal today at "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"
I think this might be the first time I've ever added any real stitching to a PL card.   But this was fun and I did what I call a shoelace stick because I thought the background paper already kind of went with my daughters dress and then the stitching this way was like it also.    So a win win for me.

Then here is my complete PL page that I used the card on.   This page covers this last week from
Mothers Day to today.

Here is the PL card sketch for this first week of June.   Check out the details and look everyday for a new reveal using this sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"

Life is Sweet

With my stepdaughter and family living in Orlando and we are in Kansas City we don't get to see them often or get a lot of pictures.  But when they post something on FB I'm so glad to see the pictures and get to make layouts for them.    These were taken a couple of weeks ago while they took a beach vacation to Ft. Lauderdale.

This is my reveal for the June 1st sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"     I just got these papers of the Carta Bella - Beach day collection so was great to use the first page.    I wasn't sure if I would have a use for this pineapple paper, but then I had this wood veneer title on my desk 'Life is Sweet' so I thought it would work great with these pictures.     I have other pictures of just the kids on the beach that I'll use more of this collection from.

Check out the sketch below and be sure and join in this great challenge and use this sketch by Bev Code.    Plus check back every day for another reveal from the other design team members.
You can see it all right here at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"
