Road Trip Day 2

It took me all month but I finally got around to making my layout for the Mood Board Challenge #102 at "SCRAP YOURSELF"   Most of the recent pictures I have including me in them were from the road trip my brother and I started last month but I had been using mostly travel themed papers and nothing was working with the pictures or colors of the mood board.     But today I put this together inspired by the colors in the mood board.

FLY

My 2nd layout today using a June sketch from  "SKETCHES IN THYME"    This is sketch #521 that I used for this layout.    I wasn't sure about the circles but I went for it.  I printed out all the pictures yesterday for both layouts so just had to pull papers and work with the sketch today.     Our granddaughter in Orlando went to Sky Zone with her family for her 9th birthday.

1-2-3 Timber

I'm sure my granddaughter thought she was pretty strong when she was able to push down this dead and hollow tree trunk she and her Dad found when they were out for a walk in the woods.

I used the first sketch of the month of June  #519 at "SKETCHES IN THYME".

Route 66 Museum

I had a lot of pictures from one of the first stops on our Route 66 Road trip at the Route 66 Museum in Lebanon, MO.    What a fun place to really start our trip and see pictures and memorabilia from the area when Route 66 was the main route through the town.    As you can see in one picture the actual switchboard that was used at the Munger Moss Motel on Route 66.   This hotel is still operating 75 years later.

So with so many pictures (and I still have more) I decided to use the June 2022 Sketch Challenge at "SCRAP OUR STASH"  twice and make a double layout.    I used the sketch and also have tags, twine and a tab on both pages.   Thanks for the inspiration to do a double using the same sketch.

Jerome, MO

I'm going to admit when I first saw sketch #520 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  I wasn't that crazy about it, but this morning I decided to give it a try.    I'm so glad I did because I'm really happy with how it looks.   So many ways you tango with it.   I changed the hearts in the middle to more circles.  I thought about going with a doily as the large one and look more like the sketch, but went with a larger circle I cut out of paper to go with the other papers I used.      Thanks for giving me the inspiration.   I'll keep this sketch and use it again.

Como Track Club

I made this double page using some really old paper stack I got at a garage sale.   It's from 2009 but I actually really like the papers, for  $5 I couldn't pass it up and a few others pads & supplies I bought while I was there.

I'm entering this layout "LASTING MEMORIES" for their new challenge out today Challenge # 603 "Switcheroo - Frames"    I cut my frames from patterned paper to go with the diamond print on the background paper,  then I rotated the frames to be a diamond shape instead of square and used them to 'frame' my journaling on the left page and my title work on the right hand page.   I don't used frames a lot in my scrapping so this made me think outside the box to do something different.

LM #603 - Switcheroo - Frames

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Lasting Memories! We hope that you are having a good weekend.

It is time for a new challenge and we have another fun one for you this week. Our theme for June is "Switcheroo" and we are challenging you to switch up the way you use your scrapbook supplies. This week's challenge is:

LM #603 - Frames - Use a frame in a different way.

Deanna says - "I think of frames to be used to showcase a photo like we use picture frames. So use a frame or more than one in a different way, maybe to add layers, make a page design, or showcase anything other than a photo."

Explore More

This was a fun challenge for me because I used all scraps of partial pieces of patterned papers and all different manufacturers.    I made this for the  "SCRAP OUR STASH"  challenge and I sure did use the scraps with this layout.

S = Scraps,   C = Carta Bella  (green patterned paper under bottom right picture)  R = Recollections (card stock)  A = Alphas  P = Pink Paislee (light wood grain paper)

Let's Go Camping

My daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter went on their first camping trip in the Scamp they bought this Spring.   They love it and have a couple more camping get-aways already planned for the summer.

I used the Scrappy Friends challenges for this year.   The June sketch from "ROCHELLE SPEARS"

Then I did the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at "SCRAPPING WITH STACY"   I did the diagonal left top to bottom right corner.   Twine,  Banner  and Stickers (all my word stickers and sticker alphas for my title)

Fishing

I used the sketch at "LETS GET SKETCHY" for these pictures of my granddaughter out fishing this last weekend.    She went our her first camping trip with the little camper Mom and Dad bought this spring.   She loved it and now the weekend after next they have another camping trip planned.   I think they will be doing this a lot over the summer.     She was all excited to go fishing and see if she could catch dinner.   That didn't work out but they ate good around the campfire.

Birthday Card

Our granddaughters birthday is in a week so I made this card for her this morning.   I found this simple but fun sketch at  "FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES"  and I knew it would be fun going through some small scraps to use up and make a birthday card at the same time.
