Memories with Meme and Pepe

Elle went to NY with her Mom and Dad for a week long visit with her other grandparents.
They had a blast and you could say the Meme might have just spoiled her a bit.    LOL
Ok, maybe a lot and they both loved every minute of it.

I used the Recipe Challenge #3 at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for this layout.
These tags I got back in the dollar bin at Michaels a couple of years ago back when there was a $1 bin, now I think the cheapest thing in that area is $1.50.   So I've been hoarding these mini jars of tags for awhile, but I'm glad I knew where they were because they were just what I needed for this challenge.   Check out all 4 of the weekly challenges for the month.

Rock Star

I couldn't resist making a layout of these pictures of my granddaughter Elle.   She now has this drum set and she loves it and asks to have a Foo Fighter song turned on every time she starts drumming.
I might be prejudiced but I think this is so cute.

I'm entering this in two different challenges.    A Sketch Challenge and a Recipe Challenge.

"SKETCHES IN THYME"     Sketch #389

"LASTING MEMORIES"   Challenge #465  Recipe 4

Smores Card

I've been saving this Bear and Smores stamped image for awhile now waiting for a sketch I wanted to use with it.     Today at  "SKETCH N SCRAP" they posted sketch #154 and I thought it would be perfect as long as I rotated the card sketch.      I decided to use a piece of burlap across the bottom to go with the look and roughness of the logs for the fire.   Then I put two stripes of black with gold thin washi tape above that.   I used this washi to represent it was night with stars in the ski.   Then my three tenants I drew the colors from the fire and the box of graham crackers.
I'm going to send this card to my two grandkids in Texas to remind them of the smores we made while they were here to visit this summer.

Here is the link to "SKETCH N SCRAP"  and all the challenges for the month, two card sketches and two layout sketches.

Here is the challenge at "SOUL-SCRAPPERS"  The challenge ends October 10th.

From the list below pick 3 or more items to add to your page/card... it's that easy.

At the Lake

We are so happy we moved from the city and got a house lakefront at Lake of the Ozarks just over two years ago.   Even though I have started calling this place "The Money Pit"  with house updates, dock expansion,  boat fixes, seawall big repair, and the list goes on.    But we stop everything else and
get up and go out on a morning boat ride and the sun hits my face, the waves lure me to relaxation, nothing is better.    Since we live on the lake, first of the morning weekdays are the best because there is so little boat traffic compared to the weekends when all the tourists are here.  These pictures were taken on a Thursday early morning boat ride.  It seems I'm always taking selfies when out on the boat.

I'm entering this layout in two challenges.    A sketch challenge and a prompt challenge.

"SKETCHES N THYME"  had this great sketch challenge #388

Then in using the sketches I picked these pictures so I could enter the September
"SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF" #69  Sunrise/Sunset  This was an sunrise boat ride.

Babbie Family Farm

My granddaughter was in NY at her other grandparents home for a long week of Labor Day.
They had so much fun and all kinds of activities    The Babbie Family Farm Museum is owned
by her grandfathers side of the family so they spent a day out there and just had a blast and
of course I had lots of pictures they took for me to scrap too.

I used these pictures with the horses for the Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge this month at
"SCRAP OUR STASH CHALLENGE BLOG"     I used the LEFT side of the sketch on this layout and I also used banners/pennants on my layout and twine on my center pennant.

Create a layout based on EITHER the left or the right side of the sketch.  ALSO, you must use a banner/pennants and twine on your layout.
When posting your layout, please indicate what side you used.

I liked the sketch so much, both sides so since I had lots of pictures from this day trip they took
I went ahead and made the right side too.     Here is my double page together.

VooDoo Donuts

While waiting around to see what Hurricane Dorian was going to do to Florida, our family from Orlando had a few days off and went out and about the city to have some fun.

One fun stop was at  VooDoo Doughnuts at Universal.   This was so fun to play with and use a combo
of fun colors.

I used the Sept. 15th layout Sketch #185 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"    For the circles in the sketch I just decided to trace them in with Purple ink and then highlight them some with different shades of
purple bling so they would stand out more.   Plus the circles go with the round doughnuts and the the other circle shapes in the pictures.

Birthday Card

I have two birthdays this next week I have to get cards mailed out for so I thought that
Sketch #153 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  was perfect for a birthday card.

I had just used the purple polka dot paper on a layout either and it was still on my desk so
used that for my card and then went to my scrap folders and found two other purple
patterned papers for the flags.  Stamped my sentiment with purple on some scrap white
card stock and I was set.    I love using up scraps on cards.   Perfect for smaller projects.

Here is the sketch and link to this months challenges at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"

****************************************************

When making this card I also had in mind the challenge at  "CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES"
Their challenge #C4C502 is to use dots on your card, and that I did.

Spa Day by Dad

I never thought I would see this day.    My son started texting me all these pictures during the day this last Saturday.     He spent the better part of the day being hair stylist for his daughter in 3rd grade.
They did foil highlights in her hair and then he did a complete blow dry and made her wavy hair straight.    I couldn't believe the end result.   So I picked these pictures of all he sent  and combined
them for my take on the September sketch at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY".

LET'S RIDE

I was looking through older pictures today and found these that I had never scrapped.    We gave each other bikes for Christmas 2006.   It was a mild Christmas season so on the 28th we went out to an
area bike trail and took a ride and tried out our new bikes.

For this layout I used the September "Scrappy Friends"  combo challenge.

I used the sketch at  "ROCHELLE SPEARS SCRAPBOOKING" and then the Photo Inspiration
at  "SCRAP AT STACY"   for the photo inspiration I pulled the sweater picture with my background paper, then I have pine cone paper,  the blue color on the jeans with the jeans we are wearing and also the blue plaid paper, then there was also a picture of a bike and I have that in our pictures and my title card.

"ROCHELLE SPEARS SCRAPBOOKING"

"SCRAP WITH STACY"

I also got lucky with this layout because the  "USE YOUR STUFF"  challenge this week #374 is also a mood board.   And it is the same mood board.   So check out this fun challenge.

Dart Art

I had never heard of anything like this.   But my grandkids in Orlando went to one in the area over Labor Day weekend.   They posted all the pictures on face book and of course I had to make a layout.
I had saved the double page sketch at   "STICK IT DOWN"    I had just enough pictures to make my
layout.    They had so much fun they are taking the picture home and hanging it up.

Here is the link to "STICK IT DOWN"  and the sketch.   Check it out and also the single page sketch and the card sketch for September.

Let's Go

I'm still working on pictures for both sets of grandkids albums from their visit over the July 4th weekend.    I had used this picture on a layout for one set of the kids and now using this again for the Orlando set of kids.

I used the Sketch #184 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP" for this layout.

Favorite Recipe

We love using our smoker to make a lot of our meals and BBQ ribs are our favorite and we have combined 4 different recipes to get the perfect one for us.    This weekend we made the ribs again and also tried a new recipe for brussel sprouts that were also made in the smoke with bacon and onions.
They turned out great too.   We added breadsticks and tomatoes from the farmers market and had our Labor Day feast.

I used the sketch #387, the first for September at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout.
I used papers from 4 different collections together not counting my dotted swiss background paper.
But I think it all worked out well together.

Here is the sketch and like to  "SKETCHES IN THYME".

Back to School Time for Avery and Dylan

School is back in session for my grandkids and now I've started the first day layouts.
For this layout of our granddaughters Avery and Dylan in Orlando, FL    I made this for the challenge
at  "SCRAP OUR STASH CHALLENGE BLOG"   and the September Saturday Cartoon Sketch challenge.    I used the sketch and went with the school them for the School House Rock cartoon and I added a die cut book and bottle of glue for my embellishments.

1st Day of School

A new month and a lot of new challenges to play with.   I made this layout this morning and I get to enter it in two different challenges.

First  the Recipe Challenge #1 at   "LASTING MEMORIES"   This whole month they are having different recipe challenge.    I love this kind of challenge and was happy to go right to work creating this layout using the challenge.

LM #462 - Recipe Challenge #1

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday! We are in the middle of a long holiday weekend here in the US. I hope that you are finding a little time to scrap or at least finding some time to have a little fun! And to all our friends who are in the path of Hurricane Dorian - please stay safe!

It's a new month and that means a new theme and a new set of challenges for us here at Lasting Memories. DT member Lauren is providing the challenges for us in September and they are going to be a lot of fun!

Our theme for this month will be "Recipes" and our first recipe is:

LM #462 - Recipe Challenge - use the recipe below to complete your layout:

1 banner, 2 photos, 3 or more chipboard elements, and glittery letters or embellishments.

***********************************************************
***********************************************************

I used the challenge at  "USE YOUR STUFF"     The challenge announced today is   'Back to School'
Which is perfect for this time of the year.     My grandkids all started back in August but I hadn't made any layouts yet because I was still working on other summer layouts.    So I am really glad
that I waited.

Your theme or challenge for this week is BACK TO SCHOOL
It can be interpreted however you like so long as it is based on that theme.
