Heat Wave Swimming

One evening while I was babysitting Elle for a week, I picked her up early from daycare so we could take her swimming.   Her Papa Don was also in town so we wanted to spend more time with her.
It's a tight schedule usually from the kids picking her up after work, to dinner time, a little play and a strict bedtime.   So it was fun to be able to go swimming one day before dinner.   She had a blast.

I used the sketch at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"   This is sketch #33e and I will be saving it to use again on other layouts.

Here is the sketch and  LINK.    Check it out and see all the inspiration for this sketch and the other weekly sketches this month.

KISS

I had the honor of getting to babysit my 17 month old granddaughter Elle for 8 days while her Mom and Dad took a vacation to Belize.   She was so good while they were gone and wasn't fussy at all missing them, but was excited to see them when they came home.   She had a big kiss for her Mom.

I used sketch #334 at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"   for this layout.   It was perfect because I knew I wanted to print a 5x7 photo this time instead of my regular 4x6.

Here is the sketch and link to   "SKETCHES IN THYME".

Fishing Girl

My granddaughter loves to fish, just like her Dad and Papa and she got to do it with both of them while on a vacation in Florida in late June.   Looks like she was pretty successful with the fish she caught.

I used the sketch lift   'Lift60' at   "SOUL-SCRAPPERS"   for this layout.   It was perfect for these three pictures of her fishing.

Here is the layout I lifted.

Walking Otis

Mom and Dad are back from vacation and my week of babysitting is over.    So now I'm getting pictures they are taking of Elle instead of Belize like I was getting last week.   I need to start on their vacation album, but when they posted this picture yesterday I feel in love with it and had to make a layout right away.

I used the July 1st sketch at   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"     Here is the sketch, check it out and the new one that was posted on the 15th.   Still a week to enter them both.

Lake Life

I made this double of the kids here at the lake a couple of weeks ago.  It was only Gibson and Addisyn, big brother Bryce was at his other grandparents house.   But these two little ones still did great out tubing without any big brother help.   They will all be here this coming weekend so there will be a lot more pictures taken and more scrapping to do.

I used the double page sketch at   "SOUL SCRAPPERS"  for my layout.       Here is the sketch I used.

Summer Lovin'

I got these pictures of my granddaughter Mylan on vacation in Florida visiting her Papa Don.
I thought they were perfect for the challenge at   "SCRAP OUR STASH"     It definitely
says the days of summer and I used a PL card with a sun on it this was the twist to the challenge.

Here is the LINK and info on the challenge.

Butterfly Card

I was asked to be a Guest Designer at   "SCRAPPING 4 FUN CHALLENGES"   I was pleased to accept.    This is my card I made for Challenge #120  --  Anything Goes with Flowers and Butterflies.

This was such a fun challenge.    I embossed some white card stock and then put it on a pale blue card base.  I added 4 banners of different lengths, two of them were cut cut from floral patterned paper, then i cut out a bund of butterflies from dry embossed paper that went with the colors of my banners. I have 3 large butterflies with 3 medium sized ones on top to make them have more dimension and then I have 3 small butterflies.  I put clear gems in the cent of all of them to finish off my card.

I hope you have as much fun playing with this challenge as I did.

A Fun Day

With the July 1st   "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"   Big Shapes challenge in mind I made this layout.     I have 3 big triangles for my shape.
This is my great-nephew out with his Mom's have a great Sunday on a warm winter day in Sydney, Australia.    I'm putting together more layouts for an album to have ready as a gift this Christmas for the family.

Here is the link and info at   "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"

1st July - Big Shapes

Today's challenge is to use a ...

Big Shape; use a big shape on your layout, any shape you like, its up to you,
as long as it's big!

Family out and about

I used the sketch #332 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout.  I had so much fun going into my box of flower embellishments and started pulling out so many different things from my stash to embellish this layout.   I didn't worry about getting same kinds of flowers, I have glittered one, flat ones, hand cut ones, chipboard flower and layers flowers.   Plus I had the perfect picture of my step-daughters family sitting in front of all of these flowers.

Fall into Autumn

This is my great nephew who lives in Sydney, Australia so their fall is our Spring.    It was kind of fun to get out my fall papers and embellishments to make a layout during the heatwave we are having here in Missouri.   98 degrees today and high humidity, no need for a sweater and a stocking cap here that is for sure.

I used Sketch  #156 at   "SKETCH N SCRAP"

Me & Dad

My granddaughter is growing up so fast.  My son sent me so many pictures of their Florida vacation the end of June and I'm just starting to scrap them.   Luckily she still likes selfies with Dad and they took a lot, no so much with her big brother.  Getting ready to enter the teen years soon, selfies with Dad aren't considered cool anymore.   LOL

I will be entering this layout at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"     Challenge RW22, the random word challenge.    Here is the list of words to chose from to use on your title.

                                                     Words to use:

July 4th Poppers

I had so much fun making this July 4th layout of my granddaughter Elle and her first experience with poppers, she was throwing them down as hard as she could to try and make them pop and was just fascinated with all of it.

I am entering this layout with the Scrappy Friends double challenge.      I started off by using the
sketch from  "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOGSPOT"   and then the Song Inspiration challenge at
"SCRAP WITH STACY"

Here is the link to "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOGSPOT"  and the sketch and I did the prompt of using patterned paper on my layout.

For this challenge, you will need to create a new layout inspired by this sketch
and use on your layout
STRIPED PATTERNED PAPER

And next the link to  "SCRAP WITH STACY"  and the song for the challenge.   I used word Star from the title in my journaling on my layout.

July 2018 Song Inspiration/Word or Phrase Challenge:

The song for July is:
All of the Stars by Ed Sheeran

It's just another night
And I'm staring at the moon
I saw a shooting star
And thought of you
I sang a lullaby
By the waterside and knew
If you were here
I'd sing to you
You're on the other side
As the skyline splits in two
Miles away from seeing you

But I can see the stars from America
I wonder, do you see them too?

So open your eyes and see
The way our horizons meet
And all of the lights will lead
Into the night with me
And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
All of these stars will guide us home

I can hear your heart
On the radio beat
They're playing 'Chasing Cars'
And I thought of us
Back to the time
You were lying next to me
I looked across and fell in love
So I took your hand
Back through lamp-lit streets and knew
Everything led back to you

So can you see the stars over Amsterdam?
Hear the song my heart is beating to?

So open your eyes and see
The way our horizons meet
And all of the lights will lead
Into the night with me
And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
All of these stars will guide us home

And, oh, I know
And oh, I know, oh
And I know oh oh oh

I can see the stars from America

For this challenge you need to be inspired by the song AND use a word or phrase from the song on your newly made layout.

Day Care Fun

I started cutting out these pictures  late last week and was thinking I was going to have to come up with some kind of design myself to make a layout.   Then yesterday I see the sketch at   "LET'S SCRAP"    I was so excited because I knew it would work perfectly.   I counted what pictures I had printed and I needed 6 more so I went back to this group of day care pictures I had saved of my granddaughter and printed 6 more.     I got the pictures because I was added to the e-mail list at  her school last week because next week I'm going to be on my own babysitting for 9 days while her parents go on a vacation to Belize.    So I was able to go backwards and save into an album any pictures the school had posted of her into a separate album for me.

Here is the link to  "LET'S SCRAP"  and the sketch for July 1st.
