Hot Summer Treat

Waiting for the right pictures before I did the combined challenge at  "ROCHELLE SPEARS" and
"SCRAP WITH STACY"   I just got these today of my Texas grandkids out with their Papa Don for a summer treat on a hot Texas day.

I used the sketch at  "THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS"  and the prompt to use graph paper on the layout (my two green banners)  and then I did the Bonus Challenge at
"SCRAP WITH STACY"   Song Inspiration Challenge - the August Song is  "Hot Fun in the Summertime"   I thought these pictures fit well with it and I used the words Hot Summer from the song in my title.

Here are the links to the challenges:

"THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS"
For this challenge, you will need to create a new layout inspired by this sketch
and use
GRAPH PATTERNED PAPER
on your layout.

The song for August is:

 "Hot Fun In The Summertime"

End of the spring and here she comes back
Hi, hi, hi, hi, there
Them summer days, those summer days

That's when I had most of my fun back
High, high, high, high there
Them summer days, those summer days

I cloud nine when I want to
Out of school, yeah
County fair in the country sun
And everything, it's true, ooh, yeah

Hot fun in the summertime
Hot fun in the summertime
Hot fun in the summertime
Hot fun in the summertime

First of the fall and then she goes back
Bye, bye, bye, bye there
Them summer days, those summer days

Boop, boop, ba, boop, boop when I want to
Out of school, yeah
County fair in the country sun
And everything it's cool, ooh yeah

Hot fun in the summertime
Hot fun in the summertime
Hot fun in the summertime
For this challenge you need to be inspired by the song AND use a word or phrase from the song on your newly made layout.

Lake Weekend PL Card

I used the mid month August sketch #108 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFE STYLE"  for this card to start my last two pages for my August PL pages.   I know there won't be anything really documentable these next few days left in the month.

I rotated the sketch to make it work for the page sheets I was using.
Here is the link to the challenge  "SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFT STYLE"  and the
sketch.   Then my last two PL pages about this last weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Ride My Bike

I have loved the transportation challenges this month at  "LASTING MEMORIES"   I think I have gotten them all completed now.    This newest challenge #410 is for Bikes.    I have that covered on this layout of my granddaughter trying out her first balance bike.   I have a bicycle in my picture, a wood veneer bicycle embellishment and also bicycle patterned paper too.

Here is the link to the last challenge for the transportation theme at  "LASTING MEMORIES"

LM #410 - Transportation - I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike.  Now we want to see bikes on your layouts!

This can be bikes in photos, on the papers, or in the embellishments.

Pals

I used the new sketch #338 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"    When I made my paper choices I decided to go with the colors in the pictures.   Black first from Bryces shirt and them a beige/tan from Bo's fur and then my pop of deep red color came from the mixer on the shelf in the background.
Plus I got to use some scrap burlap in my layout and I loved doing that.

READ

Back to scrapping my granddaughter Elle, couldn't go past just a couple of layouts of others before going back to her.  LOL

For this layout I did the challenge at  "SCRAP OUR STASH"  This is for the August
Blend-A-Sketch challenge.    I combined the two sketches and made it into something of my own and then added arrows that was the extra part of the challenge.     I used the angled paper background design that is on the sketch on the left and then front the right side sketch I used three pictures
going down the middle and the title and journaling placement from that sketch.    Then the part of
the right sketch that has the big scalloped piece of paper I used that idea on my blue striped paper and used it on an angle with a small scallop border punch.

Here is the link the the challenge at   "SCRAP  OUR  STASH"   and the Blend-A-Sketch.

Create a layout blending these two sketch and you
must use Arrows on your layout!

Driving the boat

I printed these pictures last night to work on a layout today and what perfect timing because before I started I had checked out the news transportation prompt at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  and when I saw this week it was Boats I was super excited.   Boat pictures I have.   These were actually taken this last Monday early evening when we went out on a boat ride.   After living here at the lake for a year this was the first time I decided to drive the boat and let my hubby enjoy the scenery and sit up front for a change.   I've driven a boat before and nothing to it, but since we moved here I just hadn't done it.   I just don't attempt docking, I want to keep the boat in one piece.  LOL

I used the Echo Park - Good Day Sunshine collection for this layout  It didn't have any boat embellishments but I cut my title with the anchor with cricut and then of course my two pictures are us on our boat so it works for the prompt.

Here is the link to this challenge #409 at  "LASTING MEMORIES"

LM #409 - Transportation - Boats

Universal Studios

Here is my version of sketch #159 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"    I used pictures I had from my son when he took his kids on vacation to Florida in June.   They had an eventful two days at Universal Studios and then did other fun in the sun things over about 5 days.   Glad I got some pictures of them to scrap.

Here is the link to the challenge and the sketch at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"   Don't forget to check out both layout sketches for the month and the also the two card sketches.   Always great ones to work with each month.

Car Trip

When I finished the Transportation Hot Air Balloon challenge at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  I knew I still ha the Cars prompt to do.   So I decided to continue going through the pictures on our Road Trip to Las Vegas back in 2015 and make a layout of some of the scenery pictures I took from the car between stops to see things more.  I have cars in the pictures,  a car die-cut and a puffy sticker car embellishment on my layout.

Plus I as a bonus I had the Sketch #337 from  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  sitting on my desk waiting to use.   So I decided to use it and it was perfect to showcase 6 scenery pictures.    I just started with white card stock back ground and I had one full sheet of license plate paper and I thought that would work great down the sides.  I used shiny silver alpha stickers for my title to look like car bumpers and them added my journaling and embellishments.

Here are the links to the challenges.

                                                           "LASTING MEMORIES"
For August our theme is "Transportation". All of our challenges this month will be centered around some sort of transportation.

Our first challenge of the month is:

LM #406 - Transportation - Show one or more cars on your layout.

The Sights Below

I wanted to do this last weeks Transportation challenge at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  and it was Hot Air Balloons.    This was a bucket list item for me and our last major stop on a road trip to Las Vegas back in 2015 we stopped for an Easter Sunday balloon ride in Albuquerque, NM.    What can I say it was Phenomenal.   I really thought I had done every possible picture from that balloon outing I could for our vacation album but I found these pictures looking own at the view below  and used them for the layout.   So I have balloons on my patterned paper and there were other hot air balloons up in the air with us so I'll enter this layout for this challenge.

Here is the link at  "LASTING MEMORIES"

LM #408 - Transportation - Fly higher with hot air balloons!

Use a hot air balloon on your layout - this can be in the photos, on the paper, or an embellishment. Have fun with it!

Alligators

I printed these pictures back in June when my son sent them to me after their vacation in Florida.   I had a sketch I was going to use them on but then never did.   So they have been sitting on my desk for weeks now.   Finally today I decided to scrap them and just have them done and most likely not have a challenge for them.   But I started looking at all the challenges for the month I had saved to try and use and found the one at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS" - Pick 3 challenge.   It was a push to get it done with these pictures because of the list I had to choose from but I made it work.    I picked  Border Punch,  Large Title and an animal in picture or paper  (I have both)  .

First I looked through my stash of zoo type papers and embellishments.  I found this piece with the alligator on it that I've probably had since I started scrapping 10 years ago, so I was thrilled to use it.  Plus it gave me an animal on my paper the same as the alligators in the pictures.  I also used some of the paper from that collection on the right side and used a border punch on it.    Then I used two different large alphas for my title.     The kids were at this alligator farm where you could feed the gators from the end of a fishing pool and they had a blast.

Here is the link to  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"   and the challenge.

Here is the next PICK3 challenge for August.
From the list below just pick 3 items to add to your page/card...its that easy.
Just let me know which 3 items you have added when you add your page to the gallery.
1. use the color pink
2. add flowers
3. include a border somewhere
4. add bling
5. use a doily
6. include an animal either in your photo or with an embellie
7. use large letters for your title

Vacation Opening Page

My daughter, son-in-law and their best friends for a summer vacation to Belize the end of July.
I'm going to make them a vacation album for them and this will be the opening page.
This was the first trip they had taken and being away overnight from their daughter who was 17 months old at the time.  I got to babysit.  YEAH !!!!   They have taken her on three plane trips back to NY to see Jason's parents and each time my daughter takes a picture of Jason holding her and she is looking at the safety sheet in the rear seat pocket.   So this was the first picture they posted on Facebook of their vacation of Jason and their friends recreating that picture with Elle they are usually taking on a trip.

I get to enter this layout in two different challenges.    First of all  at  "USE YOUR STUFF"  fo their Summer Fun challenge.   A childless vacation is Belize is definitely summer fun.   Plus the paper I used is something I really had no idea how to use or if I would use it and then the  arrow and airplane puffy stickers is something I have had in my stash for ages, so fun to use those.

Next I am going to enter this at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for the month of August the theme is Transportation.  Challenge #407 is Airplanes.    So to cover that I have a picture taken inside an airplane and then two airplane embellishments on my layout.

Silly Kids and Their Goals

These are my three grandkids from St. Louis.   Their Mom said before they were born she wasn't going to pepper them with the what do you want to do when you grow up questions when they started each new school years.  So being their normal silly and crazy kids they decided to take special pictures with goals for the school year that they came up with.     I just laughed outloud reading them.

I used the new August 15th sketch just posted today at   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"
Here is the sketch and click here for the   "LINK"

First Day

Schools are starting again all around,  these are my granddaughters in Orlando, they started on Monday.  These are some of the pictures they posted on Facebook.   The girls look so cute and ready start a new adventure, with Pre-K and 1st grade.

I used the double page sketch for August at  "STICK IT DOWN" for this layout.

ART !

Some of the daycare pictures that are posted of my granddaughter are better quality than others.  I made a layout earlier today of pictures taken the day before and their quality was great.   I have a feeling it might be what teacher is taking the pictures and what they are using.   But I wanted to scrap these pictures of their art time they had yesterday.   The letter Z is for Zebra and it looks like they had fun glueing the zebras black stripes onto the picture they were given.

I used the August 1st sketch at   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"   it was perfect for this layout.   I was a little worried about what to do for the strips of paper but I just went to my holder for scraps and started pulling pieces out and cutting strips, I think it worked out fine combining a little bit of everything.   Nothing like using up some scraps.

Here is the link to "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  and the sketch.

Water Play

I'm so glad I'm on the list to get the pictures taken of my granddaughter at her day-care.   Some of them are just too cute with her playing with her little friends in here room.   This week I got two days of pictures that I want to scrap.   The first layout I did is of their Wednesday Water Play.  Weather permitting they have water play once a week on Wednesday.   This week they were out playing with the house.   Looks like Elle got pretty drenched, but she loves the water so all good.

I used the single page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN"  for this layout.  I had 3 pictures and that was perfect for the sketch.

Check out the link here for "STICK IT DOWN" and see this sketch and then the card sketch and double page sketch for August.

Together

The end of July my husbands two kids and all 5 of his grandkids were at the lake together with us.
We had so much fun over 5 days and got to do a lot.  Including some family group picture taking.
I'm so glad I got these of him and his two kids.

I used the new sketch #336 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME" for this layout.   Click the   "LINK"
and here is the sketch.

Treasure Hunt

Last day of the vacation of all the Greenberg family here.   We had rains off and on and always hearing thunder so couldn't go out on the boat.   But we did have a dry spell where the Mom's got to have a treasure hunt laid out for the kids to have one last fun adventure while all the cousins were together.

I used Sketch #158 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout.   I had 3 pictures that worked great showing all four kids and then my place to journal.

Here is the sketch and link to  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  check out their 4 challenges a month.

Friends

All my step grandkids were here for 5 days this last week.   These two cousins are the same age and they were inseparable and did everything together, lots of play, lots of hugs and lots of fun.

As soon as I saw the August 1st Golden Globe inspired challenge at   "SCRAP OUR STASH"  the day after everyone went home I knew I would use pictures of Addisyn and Avery for the challenge.
My title is Friends  and I used a journal card.

Starting August PL pages

I did my first PL page for August today with what has been going on this first 3 days of the month.
I used the sketch #107 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFE STYLE"  for my title card for the month.   The sketch was perfect to me for my title card.

Here is the link to "SKETCHES IN THYME PROJECT LIFE STYLE"  and the sketch and then followed by my completed PL page one for this month.

Mall Play

Elle has discovered she likes going to the Mall, not to sit in her stroller and shop with Mom but to go the center of the Mall to the kids play area and play on and in all the cool things there.

I did my "enlarged" interpretation at the sketch at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"

Here is the sketch and link to  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"
