Time Line

I used Layout Sketch #197 at   "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout.   I had to rotate the sketch to
make my pictures work.   We got a new boat in February and these are the steps we took  from buying our new boat to picking a name, making the vinyl stickers and then putting them on the boat.
Now just waiting for the right time to bring the boat over to our dock and start enjoying it.

The Beauty of Nature

I've been working on layouts from an old vacation to Orlando and Epcot Center back in April 2012.
This layout let me use 16 picture of all the flower pictures that I took.   Sure felt like Spring was in full bloom here.

I'm entering this at  "USE YOUR STUFF"  Challenge #394 Spring.

Has it happened where you are??? Are the signs of spring there?  We want to see them in your projects for this challenge....

Our theme is SPRING!

Today in Orlando

I'm having a busy scrapping weekend and keeping my mind occupied this way while I'm staying at home.   I've been filling in layouts on old vacations to Florida and beyond from there.   This is the last layout made now to complete a trip to Orlando in 2012 to meet our granddaughter Avery.

I used the sketch at  "SCRAP OUR STASH"   the March Sketch Challenge.
Below is the sketch and you were to use plaid and wood on your layout also.   I have the blue/brown plaid paper behind my picture and I also used a piece of it for one of the tags.   I added a wood grain paper tag and I have a wood veneer heart on the picture and then a wood veneer today for my layout title.    Have fun with this sketch everyone.

I am also going to enter this layout in one other challenge.   I check this challenge out weekly and the last challenge for March is challenge #490 at  "LASTING MEMORIES"    This month is all about
techniques and the week the challenge is Texture.    My background paper for this layout is textured card stock and then I have use twine on my two tags that I have on the layout.   So that is also texture.

LM #490 - Techniques - Texture

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you. I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

Today we are sharing our last challenge for March. As a reminder, our theme for March has been "Techniques" - let's use some different techniques on our pages - and this week's challenge is:

LM #490 - Include texture - use something with texture on your page, yarn, string, bakers twine, etc.

Beauty of the Flowers at Epcot

I made this layout with the sketch at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"    This is SC142 and the twist is you need to add a die-cut ant I did that with my die-cut of tulips.

Here is the link to the challenge at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"   and the sketch I used.

Family

My step son and step daughter and families got together in Orlando for Thanksgiving break.
They spent one day at Animal Kingdom and this is pictures from that day.

It's my day to reveal my layout using this weeks sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"
I liked working with it and a way to use 3 pictures, plus I did something new for me in using
the bakers twine on the right for some partial circles.   I hope to see try out the sketch too.

EPCOT 2011

I'm still making layouts to fill in old vacations.   I pulled out a bunch of misc. albums I had filled and found vacation layouts all mixed in.    I had only made one layout from this trip to Orlando to see my husbands daughter and we spend part of a day at Epcot so there are several more pictures I took I can still scrap.   This is one I started with today and I will get to use it for two different challenges which is an extra bonus for filling in these old albums.

First is the Challenge #75 - Polka Dots at   "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"

Then I'm also entering this weeks challenge #489 at  "LASTING MEMORIES"

Caldwell Zoo

I'm still catching up on old trip pictures.    I made a lot layouts for this trip for my daughters album because we went her to visit here, but now I want to fill up my vacation albums.

I used the March double page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN"  for this layout.   I  just added one more picture than the sketch had and used a picture as part of my title.

Circle Line Tours

I've been catching up on scrapping more layouts from old vacations and this is one of them I made today.   I had made soon after trip to NY in 2015 other layouts of our Circle Line Tour in NYC but I still had so many pictures I took while on the cruise that I thought a grid format would be perfect to use some of them.    Here is what I came up with.

I'm entering this at   "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"     The March 8th Grid Challenge.

I'm also going to enter this at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for their Challenge #488-Faux Quilting
I think my square grid looks like a quilt.

Yacht Club Resort

I'm still working on catching up on some old vacation layouts and filling in my albums.   I love looking back on old trips and reliving them again while I create.

For this layout I am entering it at  "SCRAP OUR STASH"   I used the color combo and my name is Barbara so in using the first letter of my name (there has been some confusion if to use something for every letter or just the first, but I think I'm right now with just the first letter from a post I saw yesterday)   So I have the color "B"lue in my pattern paper on the keys and then I also have "B"ling
on my banner paper.

Rose Garden

Oops, as I was starting this blog post I notice I had the wrong year by 10 years.   But I have now made the correction, at least it was an easy one, these pictures are from 2007 not 2017.
These last couple of days I've been going back through a couple of old albums and finding pictures I can scrap and fill into different trips.   I'm pretty sure I've scrapped these pictures before but since they aren't in layouts I'm keeping I must have made a layout back at the time of this trip for my daughters albums I made for her.    She had an internship after college in Tyler, TX at the Caldwell Zoo.   My brother and Dad and I drove down there to see her and stay a few days.

I used Sketch #196 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout.     I wanted to stick with a red and white color combo to go with a challenge we are doing with the scrapbook online group I'm in.
So I was looking everywhere for red and white papers.   I ended up pulling from two different collections including one Christmas one that had the red cardinal paper that I used.   Then used both red and white card stock and some red ink for some inking on some edges and I got it all made.

Here is the link to   "SKETCH N SCRAP"   and the sketch that I used.   Check out all their monthly challenges and have fun creating.

Transport Me

While looking for an older trip to see what I had scrapped I found two trips we took in 2012 that I had lots of pictures I had never scrapped so today I've been working on those.     We took a trip to
Orlando for my husband to attend a conference being held at a Disney hotel so I went with him to make a vacation out of it.  He was always free by mid afternoon on the first two days and by noon on the last so we had time to go to see his daughter and family that live in Orlando and also time to spend a day at Epcot Center.     This layout is about the transportation we took.   We went by boat to Epcot and then came home via the monorail.

I used the Scrappy Friends double challenge for this layout.       I started out with the sketch from
"THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS"   and then the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for
March at  "SCRAP WITH STACY"

Here is the sketch by  "ROCHELLE SPEARS"

Next is the Tic-Tac-Toe board at  "SCRAP WITH STACY"
I used the Column on the left.  Epoxy, Banner and Tag

Valentine Dinner 2020

This was our second year in a row going to Baxters for our Valentine Dinner.   It is a really
special place for us and you sure can't beat the food for a special dinner.    I think they have the
best French Onion soup I have ever had so we both always start with that.  I love their house Mayfair dressing that comes on their salad before the entree.   This year we changed what we order, we love their Prime Rib there but this  year I had a French Onion KC Strip with swiss cheese melted on top.
It's my new favorite entree there.    My hubby had the peppercorn encrusted KC strip, I've had it
before and it is delicious.
The  latest Mystery Bag challenge at  "SOUL SCRAPPERS"  is perfect for this layout.
It is Celebrate Your Valentine and runs from Feb. 27 through March 30th.

I used the word V-day,  have lots of hearts embellishments and on my paper too. and also some xoxo paper used too.

Planning Our Journey

Some of you may know that my brother and I have a road trip planned starting in late April.
We live in central Missouri and we are starting from here and taking a trip along the Historic
Route 66.  We are only going as far as Las Vegas area and then heading north and coming home
through Utah and Colorado with planned stops in some National Parks.   My brother has been plotting the whole trip on an app to go onto to his Garmin so all our pre-planned stops will be there for us.  As the other picture shows we have been researching lots of fun and off the wall stops by reading several Route 66 books, looking at Route 66 maps and reading blogs about the route.
At some point I will make a title page for the album I'll be making and then this will be the first page
after the title page will be this one.   I'm going to love taking this road trip with my bother and then
coming home and reliving it with all the pictures we will take and then making my many layouts from them all.

I'm entering this layout at  "SOUL-SCRAPPERS"  for Challenge RW40 - Random Word.
I chose the word "Journey" and used it in my title.

Welcome to the  Random Word Challenge
where each month we will have 6 words or
titles based off a common theme. All you have to do
is pick one & use it somewhere
on your project. It's that simple !
Our theme this Month is: BOOKS

                                                           1. Hero

By The Fire

When I saw the new Survivor Challenge for March at  "SOUL-SCRAPPERS"  I immediately knew
what pictures I wanted to find and scrap.     For Memorial Day weekend 2015 my daughter and
son-in-law rented a house at the Lake of the Ozarks for the family.   It was a combo Birthday and
Mothers Day gift for me.  It included them, my hubby and me, my Dad and my brother.     We had a great 4 bedroom house with a nice deck looking down on the lake.    There were canoes and kayaks that were available to take out and down at lakeside a picnic table and large fire pit.   This is what we did on last night there.   We picked up sandwiches and drinks and then went down to the lake and built a fire and ate and just sat around and talked.   It was perfect.

Now why were these pictures the ones I wanted to scrap.   The March Survivor Challenge at
"SOUL-SCRAPPERS"  is   FIRE.    I had scrapped a lot of pictures already from this trip but if you know me I love to go back and add more and more layouts to any trip I take and this was a perfect one for me to add on to.
