Merry Christmas

I alway make a card for my husband and put it in his stocking at Christmas and this is the one I just made today for him.

I used sketch #135 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"   for the card.      Just click on this link for all December challenges at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"

Waiting for Santa

Elle loves pointing out the Santas that are decorations at her house and saying "Santa, Santa"  but when it came to meeting the big guy in person, she was not overly enthusiastic about it.   But at least there are some pictures of her with Santa this year, even though no big smiles about the experience.

I used the sketch #167 at   "SKETCH N SCRAP"    I really like this sketch and I'm going to save it and use it again.

Here is the sketch and link to "SKETCH N SCRAP"

Christmas Village

I made this layout with the challenge #426 at  "LASTING MEMORIES" - Holiday Traditions.

The prompt for these last 2 weeks of the month is My Favorite Things and one of my very favorite holiday traditions  is to see up "some" of my Christmas houses and such.   I have more than this but these are the ones I decided to put out this year.  I have one row on the buffet in my dining room and the two little groupings in two different corners of my kitchen.

LM #426 - Holiday Traditions - My Favorite Things

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you! Are you all ready for Christmas? After a day of shopping yesterday, I think that I am finally ready!

With Christmas just a little over a week away, and in order to give the design team a little break, this week's challenge will run for two weeks. Since this is the last challenge for the month, and for 2018, we want to say a big thank you to our guest designer for December, Jill! I have really enjoyed Jill's layouts that she has shared each week. Thank you, Jill, for being our guest designer!

Now, on to the challenge. Our theme in December has been - Holiday Traditions - and this week's challenge is:

LM #426 - My Favorite Things - scrap a photo of your favorite holiday item(s) or your favorite holiday collections (favorite ornaments, Nutcracker collection, etc.)

CHRISTMAS CATS

I always have to leave a spot under the tree after I put the presents out because the cats love the nap under the tree.   I think they like the heat the lights put out plus they feel hidden from everything else.

I used the sketch #353 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout, it was perfect for these two pictures I got.

Here is the sketch and link to the challenge  at  "SKETCHES IN THYME" .

Stonewall Kitchen

Today I finally finished all of my layouts from the road trip we took in October.   That is all I have been concentrating on for about the last week.   I had started it soon after I got home but then I quit but now, I'm happy to say, the album is complete.    This was one of the last ones I made today.
We love Stonewall Kitchen products and by chance saw the sign while driving through York, ME on our way to Portland, ME area to start our day of lighthouse sightseeing.   So we had to go and see if by chance the company store was open, it was right after 8:00 and thought for sure it would be closed but took the chance and luckily it was open.  And a lot of people shopping and some employees and people from town there and enjoying breakfast in their cafe.   Besides getting started on some Christmas shopping while there we also stopped and took some pictures of each other out in front of the store and cafe that was all decorated for fall.

I will be entering this at   "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF"  Challenge #60 is Anything Goes, no theme, just whatever you want to do as long as you include a picture of yourself on your layout.

Here is the link to "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF"  and the details.

MAINE

The last several days I've been working a lot of layouts from our Road Trip we took toward the end of October,  I'm almost finished.   Maine was the last state we went to on our trip before heading home.   We stopped at the visitors center as soon as we got into the state and that is where this picture was taken.      I had fun using the December sketch   "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  for this layout.   It was a a fun a different design to work with.     Here is the sketch below and the link to  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"

Christmas

This was a fun double challenge for me.   I did the Scrappy Friends challenge combining
"ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG"  and  "SCRAP WITH STACHY BLOG"    The sketch I followed was from Rochelle Spears and you had to include snowflake patterned paper.   I have a little different snowflake of the white & gold snowflake on red background on my flag paper.    Then Stacy's challenge is a Song Inspiration, the song is "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"  and I have that title on the strip of paper top left.

Here are the links to the challenges and the information about them both.

The Journey

I'm slowly working on layouts from our October road trip to the East coast.   This was one stop in this little shopping village in Mystic, CT.   It was quant and unique, we really enjoyed walking around and looking at all the fun shops.

I used the Jump Start sketch challenge at   "THE SCRAP ROOM BLOG".    It was perfect to showcase  three of my favorite pictures of this area.

Here is the sketch and link to   "THE SCRAP ROOM BLOG" .

BRRR

I think it's going to be a snowier winter in Missouri than it has been in the past.   My grandkids in St. Louis already had a snow day in the middle of November.    I'll enter this in two blog challenges.

I used the "SCRAP OUR STASH"  December Golden Globe challenge.    I created a winter layout and used snowflake embellishments on my layouts.    Everything on my layout is old from my stash with the exception of my snowflake embellishments.   Everything else I have had for years and I used up scraps too with the matting on my pictures.

Here is the link to  "SCRAP OUR STASH"  for the challenge.

I used the challenge #16 at   "DOUBLE TROUBLE"  for my 2nd entry with this layout.   It was also perfect to go with my wintery layout.     Here is all the details.   For THING 1 - Trouble Maker I used heat embossing for the snow on my tag.    For THING 2 - Twisted Sister I have snow in my pictures, snowflake embellishements and in all my paper and a snowman on my tag I added.

Here is all the information for the "DOUBLE TROUBLE" Challenge.
HING 1 Trouble Maker
says you have one more chance to finish your winter/holiday cards/projects in time for mailing. Create a project using at least one form of embossing... dry embossing, heat embossing, embossing paste, your choice. Or use them all!

THING 3 Twisted Sister
says, "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" Include snow, snowflakes, a snowman, etc. on your project.

Hint: If you include a coffee/tea/cocoa image or sentiment,
you may  join in the fun at 2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Time is limited on the Coffee Blog Hop so read the details below.

Both of these are OPTIONAL twists so why not double the trouble and include both? You will be awarded an additional chance for participating in each twist in Double Trouble's random prize draw.

THING 2 Double Dare
says if you have created a winter holiday themed project you can also join the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #21.  To post, click HERE any time during the month of December. This gives you an additional chance at winning the Double Trouble Random Draw.
