Christmas card time

I wasn't going to do any scrapping today.   I had to catch up on a PL page and that was going to be it.
But then I saw the latest World Card Making Day Sketch #5 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  and I decided I wanted to work on it immediately.   I got out a new Christmas paper pad and went to work on it.

Two Christmas cards

The Halloween cards are finished mailed and received by all the grandkids and family members so today I thought I would make a few Christmas cards to add to what I made during Christmas in July.   I'm going to need a lot more of them than any other holiday.     Next week I'll probably switch to the few Thanksgiving cards I will send out but for now I felt like Christmas.   I mean we did have a little snow earlier this week so I'm in the mood.

I used the World Card Day Month sketch #4 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for the card on the right.

It's  been so fun playing along with all their card sketches this month.

FALL CLEAN-UP

This was a fun sketch to work with from "SCRAP OUR STASH".   This is my 2nd time using it since it came out in the challenge on the 15th of the month.   First time I didn't use papers or alphas to go with the challenge.  So now I have all the elements covered.    I used two different  Fall leaf paper and then I have mixed alphas with my title.   Large chipboard alphas for Fall and tiny mini stickers for Clean up.   Plus for a little extra I decided to add some twine to may layout with a single simple wood veneer leaf for a simple embellishment.

Here is the sketch and the link to  "SCRAP OUR STASH" .

Pumpkin Season

This is my granddaughter Elle on the left with the black dress and two of her friends that went out to
a local greenhouse to pick out a pumpkin each to bring home.   Looks like they covered all the varieties with a white, orange and yellow pumpkin.

I'm entering this in two different challenges.   "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"  and   "USE YOUR STUFF BLOG".

THE STUDIO CHALLENGE - has a color palette challenge.

"USE YOUR STUFF BLOG"  challenge #408 is Autumn/Fall and pumpkins always say Fall to me.

#408 Autumn/Fall

I know you have been waiting for it!  Here's this weeks AUTUMN/FALL challenge!

I am sure many of you have been working on autumn challenge for awhile now so be sure to add us to your list!  You can make your project about any autumn/fall theme, holiday, or maybe just the colors....take it where your imagination leads...

1890 wedding

While going through old pictures a couple of weeks ago I found this wedding day picture of my maternal great grandparents.  I loved making this layout and writing up some of the history of my great-grandparents.    I went very simple with the design for a 1890 wedding.

I'm entering this layout at  challenge #209 at   "THE PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGE"

Challenge #209 - Wedding/Anniversary

Hello everyone, it's Alex here bringing you Challenge 209 which is about Weddings.

My hubby and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in just two days time and my wedding scrapbook is awfully bare, so starting last month I've been scrapbooking almost entirely that!

If you have no weddings to scrap or create cards for, how about an anniversary or graduation?  Whatever the occasion, CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉🎉🎉

Elle

My granddaughter didn't want to wear her orange Halloween Tutu only once on Halloween Day so she got it out and put in with her fall outfit she was wearing to pre-school that day.   Looks pretty good all together.

I'm using this layout for the "Hello October" challenge at  "SCRAP OUR STASH CHALLENGE BLOG"
I was inspired by the colors, the plaid in one picture and the leaves on the trees in another picture.

Whats for Dinner

When I saw the sketch for challenge #211 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  I knew I had the perfect pictures to use with the sketch.   The weekend before the sketch came out I had been craving Mexican food.   With the coronavirus we have only eaten out about 4 times since March and this Mexican restaurant was now the 2nd time we had gone out to it during all of this.   They do social distancing and I also knew they had a separate table by itself in a front corner so by going at an odd hour, we went at 3:00, I knew it would most likely would be available.   So off we went and had a nice dinner out as safely as you can during these times.   I had to start with a huge margarita (which ended with me having a long nap when we got home) then we had the chorizo/bean/cheese appetizer and I got the special chicken burrito for my entree.   It was just what I had been wanting.

Hunters Moon

Challenge #519 at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for me because I happened to wake up early to see this sight of the Hunter moon setting out over the lake.   It was so light from the moon shining through the deck door of our master bedroom I knew I had to get up and try and capture a good picture.   I'm so happy that I did because I love the shot I got and now it works perfect for this challenge.

LM #519 - Hello Fall - Full Moon

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Lasting Memories! We are so happy that you are joining us today. Are you ready for a new challenge? Here we go.

Our theme for October is -  Hello Fall - and our challenges this month will feature a variety of events and things you can find in October during Fall in the USA, and this week's challenge is:

LM #519 - Full Moon

Another Halloween Card

First thing I did this morning in my craft room was go to "SKETCH N SCRAP"  and see what this Saturday's card sketch was.     I needed more Halloween cards and went right to work using the sketch.

I used a muted orange inking on my white card  and then added black on top and inked the card edges in black.   I added the orange plaid patterned paper and then cut down a PL style card that had my Happy Halloween sentiment on it.   Next I added my yellow moon circle behind the card and then on top of the moon I added a bat sticker and my card was complete.

Here is the sketch I used and the link to "SKETCH N SCRAP".

Fun in the Leaves

My brother and I went for a drive Monday to see the leaves out in the country.   One stop was in Fayette, Missouri at the courthouse where there were several trees that were so beautiful.   I decided to play in some of the leaves and have some child like fun.    Luckily my brother took some pictures.
So this worked out fine for the October challenges at  "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"  #42  Fall Color Palette.

FLOWER COVE

I had heard about this cove at the lake for 3 summers now and finally last month we went out on the boat looking for it.   We were about to give up and turn around and head home as we were having no luck finding it where I thought it was and then just like that it was there.   What a wonderful sight.  Now I'm looking forward to going back there next year earlier in the summer.    But what a wonderful sight at this home owners lake front lot and dock.   I'm sure there have been 1000's of pictures taken here over the years.   It is so beautiful to see.

I used the  sketch #210 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout.   I wanted to make sure I got to include more than just a single picture for a layout of this scenery.

Here is the link to  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  and all their challenges for October and the sketch I just used.

SHELLS

This is a totally new way fo me to make a layout.   I have no title, no journaling, just my paper and picture.    I had two pieces of this paper so I use one as my background and then on the other one I fussy cut 10 of the shells out and then used different sizes of pop dots to pot up the shells over the background shells.

I was inspired by the Survivor October prompt at  "SOUL-SCRAPPERS".

Hi SURVIVOR Members!

FLY AWAY

I decided today to play around with plaids and mixing them on a layout.     I found the perfect sketch to use at  "THROUGH THE EYES OF ROCHELLE SPEARS"with the October sketch,  then I decided to combine the Scrappy Girls challenge and incorporate the tic-tac-toe board at "SCRAPPING WITH STACY"  I used the middle row, Hearts,  Word Sticker Phrases and 1 Photo.

Check these challenges out and join in the fun.

So Cute at 29 months

I'm several months behind on these monthly layouts of Elle but I'm catching up...     I'll be using this at   "LASTING MEMORIES"   for challenge #518

Year 3 Week 22 6/22-6/28

Week 126 complete! It rained so much this weekend all my plans had to change, but I still had fun and had an excuse to jump in every puddle I could find! I went to Papa’s and played in the front yard with my ball. On Sunday, I had my last Tinkergarten class. I was still the quietest one in the group, but I still love going.  We played in mud this weekend which was a blast. The rest of the week I just helped Mom and Dad fix up the house for our upcoming out of town guests (I built a daybed!), took the puppies on lots of walks, and played games on the family room floor with the rents. I really do love my new house. Oh and I caught yet another cold at school.  Fingers crossed it doesn’t stay around too long. My book obsession is getting a bit out of control when we realized I have more books piled up next to my chair to read than I have on my bookshelves, so now every night we put all the books away and then I get to choose four books to read each night. I like this new ritual as long as I get to read “If you give a cat a cupcake” book every night last right before we turn off the

ALASKAN CRUISE VACATION

The newest challenge at "USE YOUR STUFF"  was perfect for these old pictures I found of my parents and the Alaskan Cruise they took back in 1996.   Plus I used my stuff, this anchor die cut I have had for a few years, left from a cut I did several years back for an old boating layout.   Then the diagonal cut on the paper on the left was a 5x12 leftover piece of paper that I just cut on the diagonal because I knew I would make another layout with pictures from this cruise.

16 Best Nautical Baby Shower Ideas - Sailor-Themed Shower Decorations

Welcome to October!  Fall is in the air, is it where you are too??  Fun challenge this week...let's go NAUTICAL

This one can go with typical nautical themes like anchors, boats, water etc, or it could be the nautical colors of red, white and blues.  Maybe you want to do animals that live in the ocean or sea.  Interpret it how you want and then we want to see it!

Halloween Card

I'm not a big card maker but I do love making cards for my extended family for all the holidays.   Halloween is always fun because I send one to each of my grandkids and a few extra relatives also.   Today is used the card sketch #179 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP" for this card that I'll be sending to one of my granddaughters in Florida.   She wears glasses so this little cute pirate is perfect for her.

Here is the sketch and link to  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for all their fun challenges in October.   Check them out there are many fun sketches to play along with this month.

World Card Making Day

For the last two days I've been taking a big part of my craft room apart and rearranging but I am almost finished and I stopped to play along with World Card Making Day.   I got one card made, my first Halloween card for the year.     I used the sketch at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  it was a great one to use.

I mixed and matched a lot with this one, the little girl came from Simple Stories Say Cheese Halloween, the Happy Halloween banner sentiment came from Simple Stories Happy Haunting, the orange background paper came from Bella Blvd. Spooktacular, the black paper in the center came from a Recollections Halloween pad and finally the polka dot paper was a scrap piece from Echo Park.

Here is the link to "SKETCH N SCRAP"  and all their monthly challenges are here along with every Saturday for the month they will have a new card challenge.
