Great Memories

Early in November my brother and I took a road trip down memory lane of places we would visit on family vacations every summer with many relatives.    We saw beautiful fall colors and stopped at all the streams and float trip spots, picnic areas of our youth.

I used the November sketch challenge at   "SCRAP OUR STASH"   or this layout and added the fall embellishments.

Today at Cyclocross

You did it, no more balance bike for you.   You are off and riding hard and fast on your pedal bike at cyclocross from now on.   You did awesome.    We are all so proud of you.   You love this sport so much just like your Dad does.

I'm using this layout at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for the latest stash bust challenge this month.    I used enamel dots from my stash as embellishments on this layout.

Fall Festival

While babysitting Elle while Mom and Dad were on a short vacation just before Halloween.    My brother and I took Elle to a Fall Festival in the neighboring town.   There was so much to see and do and we had a great time.

I used sketch #237 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"  for this layout.

Memories from growing up

All summer I've been talking about taking a road trip (only 3 hours away from home)  to Shannon County, Missouri where my grandmother was born and two of her sisters still lived.    Home of Current River, Jacks Fork River and so many beautiful springs, Big Springs, Round Spring, Blue Spring.   Finally a week ago today my brother and I took off for the day and night.   It was the most perfect Fall Day, the temperature got up to 74 (2 days later the high was 45).  We visited all the springs, both rivers, saw the house where one Aunt lived and the General Store they ran in the small town for over 50 years,  the Bank that my Uncle started and visited the cemetery where my great grandparents are buried and a Great Aunt that always spent Christmas's with my family.

I was pushed but the November challenge #95 at  "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF" and used different stamps on the background of my layout.  I used a 4 different stamps on this layout, leaves on the wood paper strip, a tree stamp, leaf/acorn garland stamp and then the stamp on my journal box.  I enjoyed pushing myself to do something I don't usually do when making a layout.

Halloween Dragon

I've made a layout using the pictures of my granddaughter and the dragon decor at her house already this year but today I made a different layout that I will keep in my Holidays album just for me and not in the album for my granddaughter because she already has 3 or 4 Halloween layouts from this year in her album.

I used Angela's sketch #492 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"  for this layout.   It was perfect to combine some different Halloween papers and stash I always have on hand.

Happy Halloween in Australia

These are my two nephews that live in Sydney, Australia.   I love making layouts of them for their Grandpa that lives here in Missouri in the same town I live in.

I'm entering this at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for their challenge #573 Stash Busters.   I used spider web washi tape across the top and the left side of the layout and the "Boo Crew" is a sticker.

LM #573 - Punches, Stickers, and/or Washi Tape

Use one, two, or all three of the items above on your layout. You may include other items, as well.

Happy Halloween

I love making Halloween layouts and I have plenty to make this year.   This is just one of the ones I'll end up making of our granddaughters in Orlando.   They always do a big party and have a great time so I have many pictures of them they have shared to scrap.

For these pictures I used the Scrappy Friends challenges.   First the sketch at "ROCHELLE SPEARS".
I always love working with these mostly sketches.

Next is the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at  "SCRAP WITH STACY"  I used the diagonal  Doily, Banner & Heart.

The Great Pumpkin

The day before Thanksgiving we went on an adventure in search of  "The Great Pumpkin".

We looked at all shapes and sizes of pumpkins, all colors, perfect pumpkins and weird pumpkins.   We couldn't decide what one was The Great Pumpkin until Elle found this one,  she was sure it was it and we all agreed.    Adventure complete.

I used sketch #236 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP" for this layout.

Cyclocross

I'm entering this layout at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  for their challenge #572.  I have had this piece of ephemera (the bicycle) set aside for when I had pictures of my granddaughter on her bike to post.   She takes her Cyclocross seriously so might not appreciate the flowers on the bike but I still love it.  LOL
