2 months old

I just got this picture an hour ago but had to jump right in on scrapping it.    I decided the challenge that just came out today at  "LASTING MEMORIES"    The challenge this week is to use 5 different patterned papers, which I have used (actually 6 if count the pattern on the cut-out heart.)
And I used the optional challenge to do a birthday layout.   Whats more important than a 2nd month birthday?   :)    All my papers are from the My Minds Eye - Beloved Collection

Here is the link to the challenge.

"LASTING MEMORIES"

LM #337 - USE 5 DIFFERENT PATTERN PAPERS

with and optional challenge to create a birthday layout.

1 2 3 and Jump

I am going to enter this in two different challenges.   I started off with the new challenge at
"THE STUDIO CHALLENGE" - Numbers challenge.      Then while thinking about what to do I decided to combine what I made using the "SCRAPPING 4 FUN" - Recyling Old Stash challenge.

I have my big numbers   1 2 and 3 in my title using black Thickers and then on the one long banner I have in mini alphas 2016 for the year these pictures were taken of my son and his two kids having some fun trampoline time.

Then I used all old collections,  Fancy Pants-Swagger from 2012,  Fancy Pants from 2014 and My Minds Eye - Find Your Wings from 2013,   the two banners from Fancy Pants were the last scraps so used it all up.

Here are the links to the challenges.

A Busy Week PL page

I just finished this weeks PL page and I use the PL card sketch at  "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE" for my title page for this week.    The way I am doing PL this year I don't always have a title card because I'm just doing more of a run on monthly PL than week by week.   But this time I  wanted to add a card and the sketch worked perfectly for me when I rotated it to make it fill my horizontal pocket.

Here is the sketch and link to "SKETCHES IN THYME PL STYLE"
There is a new sketch every week so be sure and check back weekly and daily for more reveals from the design team.

Fun Family Memories

It's a grey and finally a rainy day here in Kansas City.   I say finally rainy because it has been so dry here, even all winter, we are way below normal for the year on precipitation.

I am entering this layout in two different challenges.    I used the sketch at  "CREATIVE SCRAPPERS"   and also a monochromatic challenge at "COLORFUL CREATIONS"
I guess its because it is grey outside and hard to get a good picture, my patterned papers look more shades of grey than blue, but they are all blues in person.   Thats why I matted the papers in two shades of blue.  At least those show up in this picture.   The three gems are a pale blue too even though here they also look grey.   Oh well I tried my best for the photography conditions.

Here is the sketch and the links to the two challenges.

Let's Eat and Celebrate

I have been talking about taking Dad out to C. C. Broilers for a great steak dinner for his birthday since last June.    But that was when he started fighting cancer.    He got really sick from the chemo and took awhile to get over that.   He has been feeling great for months but I finally pushed and got it planned and last weekend, we all went to dinner together for a belated birthday celebration.
Even my 7 week old grand-daughter went out with us for her first fine dining experience and was perfect.      Dad has told me over and over again how great the dinner was so now I have told him this year we will do it again but on his birthday this June.

I used the double page sketch at   "LET'S SCRAP"  for this layout.   I  just made 6 smaller pictures for the right side instead of the 3 in the sketch so you could see some of our food pictures I took.

Here is the sketch and the link to the challenge at   "LET'S SCRAP"   The winner will receive a $15 Gift Certificate to an online store of their choice.

Oh so cute Elle.

I'm using the prompt at  "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"  for this layout.    The challenge is...

Today's challenge is
Patterned Paper Half; Today we want you to use patterned paper on half your layout, the rest is up to you!

I started with a base of pink card stock and then the bottom 6" is this patterned paper I chose to use with a picture of my granddaughter.    I matted the picture in hot pink and gold and then did a little journaling above the pp and added a variety of baby themed stickers I had.

Here is the link for the challenge.    "THE STUDIO CHALLENGES"

Memories

I kept this layout really simple.   I wanted the paper and the journaling just tell the story of one single picture of my two grandkids in Texas.   The picture of them was because they were drinking hot cocoa this last December from their picture mugs of when they were little.   They were loving the fact that they are "all grown up" and using mugs made when they were little.

I found this piece of paper in an old collection from 2011 from Jillibean Soup - Sweet & Sour Soup collection.   So since I was doing the layout in a memory mode.   I just outlined in black marker all the lines that were visible that said M is for Memory.

I will be entering this in two different challenges.

Challenge #86 - Recycling / Old Stash at  "SCRAPPING 4 FUN"   I  think using papers from a 2011 collection works as old stash.   I only had very little left so was glad to use up my next to last full sheet and this one partial was perfect to use and not save anymore from the collection.

The next challenge is Challenge #256 - Doilies  at  "USE YOUR STUFF"   Adding this doily from my stash, also not new, was perfect to add something to the layout and to have a place for my journaling.

You can click above on the links to go to each challenge blog for more details.

It's Me

I'm busy the last couple of days doing layouts for the Paper Issues Spring Crop challenges.   One
challenge was to make a layout about yourself.    This is rare for me, but I enjoyed it.

I went to  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"  and their mid-month sketch challenge to make this layout.
I thought it would work perfect.   I mean, if I'm going to do a layout about myself, I should make myself the 'star'.   LOL

Now and Then

I just got these pictures this last weekend from my daughter-in-law of my grandson.  He was recreating a pose from a picture when he was just over a year old.   I think he did a great job.
And he is on the same couch.   I just love it.

This layout is for the  "SCRAP OUR STASH"   mid March word challenge with a sketch and to
use the letters in the word 'CHARM' in you layout.

I have ........
C = Crate Paper (my background paper from the Acorn Ave. collection)
H = Heart  (the blue foam heart on the then picture)
A = Authentique (the blue paper behind pictures from the Original collection)
R = Recollections (the green cardstock and the bling are both from Recollections)
M = My Minds Eye (the striped paper and the yellow polka dot paper)

Here is the sketch and link to  "SCRAP OUR STASH"

Movie Time

Gibson was all set for his first movie experience out with Mom.   Soft drink ready and popcorn to share.

For this layout I used the Thursday sketch at  "ELLE'S STUDIO"  that came out on March 16th.
I love using and mixing the papers from Elle's Studio.  For this one I combined papers from Thankful and Let's Eat collections.

Beauty

I always love to take pictures of flowers that I see.   Walking around the inner harbor of Baltimore on our road trip in 2015 was no different.      There were beautiful planters all over the walkways outside the restaurants.        I used Sketch #125 at  "SKETCH N SCRAP"

I heart Elle

When I saw the newest sketch this morning (March 15th sketch) at  "STUCK ?! SKETCHES"
I knew I wanted to go to work on it right away.   I also knew there was another challenge I had set aside that it would work with also.   The negative space challenge at  "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"    This sketch was perfect for  using 4 small pictures of my holding Elle, my newest granddaughter.    With this sketch everything is pulled to the center, leaving all negative space to left and right and a little on top on bottom.  And of course all 4 pictures have me in them to challenge myself.   Plus I got to be creative with my embellishments, a double punch, a couple of doilies,  a
puffy heart, some bling, a camera sticker, plus I got to use of the strip of patterned paper begins my picture that I had been holding on to for some reason.    Then I also used my newest Thickers of gold and pink.

I'm going back to see my granddaughter this Saturday so I'm sure I'll be scrapping more pictures of her soon.

Here are the links to the challenges and the sketch.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

While we were on our road trip in October 2015 we spent some time in Orlando at Arthur's daughters house and his son and family were in town on business too.    So while everyone was together his kids and all the grandkids  decided to surprise him after dinner one nice at their house with a birthday cake for a week early birthday celebration.

I am entering this layout at two challenges.    First off I used the sketch for March 1st from
"STUCK ?! SKETCHES"     It was perfect for these 4 pictures.       Then I combined the layout with the challenge at  "LASTING MEMORIES"  the challenge there was to use lots of numbers and if possible combine it with a birthday theme.   So  I managed to do the theme and many numbers on my background page, plus with mini alphas for his age.

Here is the sketch and the link to both challenges.

Bright Light Big City

Finally on my third brief trip to NYC,  we took a circle line sight-seeing trip by boat.   It was my first time to see the statue of Liberty plus so many bridges I had heard of in the city and then the view of the shoreline from the water was a lot different the the scenery in Missouri.   LOL

For this layout I used the March "Jump Start"  sketch at   "THE SCRAP ROOM BLOG"

Family Time at Lake Nona, FL

I'm going to spend this week finishing up my layouts from our road trip from Missouri to FL to NYC back in 2015.   This was our first main stop,  Orlando, FL to see my husbands daughter and two kids, also in town were his son and daughter-in-law and 3 kids from St. Louis for a working vacation.
So we got to get together with all his kids and grands.  It was a great time.    Plus the area they live in is so beautiful, I could just sit outside all the time and take in the views.

I used sketch #268  at  "SKETCHES IN TYME"   for this layout.   I'm on the DT there but this
was not the sketch for my week, but I really like Bev Code's sketches so I just had to make a layout using it.

The other fun part is that every paper I used came from a different collection.   The lower flags and the darker green flag were made from individual odd and end 6x6 papers I had.   The circle I have had for ages and no clue where it came from,  the striped flag was cut from a new piece of paper from a Craft Smith stack of paper and the watery background paper was a single sheet I have had for years also.   I enjoyed getting everything to work together and to also use up some old papers.

Here is the sketch and link to the challenge at   "SKETCHES IN THYME"

Say Cheese

My husbands two kids and five grandkids were all together here in Kansas City for a long weekend last December.   We all had so much fun together and got lots of pictures, but trying to get them all to poise for pictures was a riot.   Of three people taking pictures and giving instructions, none of us got a picture of them  all smiling or sitting straight at the same time.

I've already made one layout  of another picture similar to this.   But since I make layouts for both families I needed to make another one.    For this one I used the new sketch at   "THE MEMORY NEST"    I love the sketch and showcasing just the picture and then being able to use a PL card on my layout.   I did  a lot of searching through all my PL cards but when I found this one, I knew it was the one I wanted to use and then just looked for the papers to used with it.

Good Times

I've been trying to catch up on scrapping some older pictures as I can.   And this sketch #124 at
"SKETCH N SCRAP"  was perfect for getting a lot of pictures on one layout.    Over Christmas vacation 2012,  the "kids" worked together to make a special afternoon treat for everyone else.
son-in-law Jason made some fantastic Sushi,  my son Jason was in charge of extra spicy Bloody Mary's for everyone and my daughter Leslie worked with both Jason helping with whatever was needed.   Then Dad and my brother Bruce got to enjoy all that was made.    You can't beat that.

Here is the sketch and and the link to  "SKETCH AND SCRAP"    There are 4 challenges here each month.

FISHING

This is the latest picture of my son fishing.   He went on a charter, while on vacation, in Florida a week ago today.     I have pictures of him fishing probably starting at age 2 and he loves it.  He is
always smiling the most when he is catching  fish.       I just loved this picture of him and his latest catch so I used the single page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN".    With this sketch I just changed it so that the picture wasn't the small 2x2 square but the big 8x8 part of the sketch and I used my little fisherman die-cut in the place of the 2x2 square.   I really like how it turned out.     Plus the bonus was I finally got to use this big wooden fishing title that I have had for ages.   I've made other fishing layouts but just didn't have the right one to use it on.    This is it, big title, big fish and big picture.

Family fun memories

I wasn't sure what I would do with the March double page sketch at  "STICK IT DOWN"
But when my printer wasn't working last week and I had out old pictures already printed to work with  I had these 3 4x6 pictures already printed, back from our craft session Christmas 2011.   So I just decided to go back to the computer and find more from this time and find more of everyone there and print the smaller ones.    Then I just started playing around with placement and made my layout.
I did have a couple more than in the sketch I wanted to include so it all worked out well.

Here is the sketch and the link to this challenge at  "STICK IT DOWN".   And also check out
the single page and card sketch for the month.

Irish Smiles

One more St. Patricks card today.    This one I will be sending to my grandson and granddaughter in Texas.  I think they will really like the diecut Leprechaun.

I'm entering this card in two challenges both with a St. Patricks theme.
Here are the links and challenges.

"FANTABULOUS CRICUT CHALLENGE"  =  Challenge #296  St. Patricks Day and of course to use a diecut so I have my happy little Leprechaun.

"THE PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGE"  =  Challenge #123 Luck of the Irish.   And the Leprechaun
is all about this Irish holiday.

St. Pats Sentiments

When I saw this quote is my stash of St. Patricks Day goodies  I knew just what I wanted to use it for.
The card challenge in March at  "STICK IT DOWN"   was just all about the sentiment.
So I made this card for St. Patricks day.    I have 4 households of grandkids to send too and I always send all holiday calls to my Dad.      I believe this one will be the one I send to my Dad.
I used a green textured card base and then I inked all edges of the card and also the quote in green to finish the card.

Here is the sketch and the link to  "STICK IT DOWN"

It's a Pot of Gold

I made this St. Pats Card for my newest Granddaughter.   I plan on writing inside it about how I think she has already found the 'pot of gold' because of the wonderful parents she has.

I'm entering this card in two different challenges..    "THE PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGE"
Challenge #123  is Luck of the Irish, so this card is certainly that,  all the Irish / St. Pats words and
symbols in this.  A pot of gold, rainbow, kiss me, lucky.

To make the card I used the new   "MOJO MONDAY"   sketch #487.   I really liked the elements
I could add to this sketch,  solid colors, patterned paper for the holiday and my pot of gold.  Then I also did a lot of green inking on the card and around the edges.

Here is the sketch and then the links to the challenges.

Happy St. Patricks Day

Just 10 days away so I've been work last couple of days on my St. Patricks Day.     This card is for two different challenges.   First is the  the "CURTAIN CALL INSPIRATION CHALLENGE"

Click on the name above and here is the inspiration.

Next I am going to enter it at  "THE PAPER GIRL CHALLENGES"
Challenge #123 is The Luck of the Irish.    So with my background paper and the big shamrock I think this card is perfect for this challenge.      Click on the challenge name above to go to the link for this challenge.

Baby Girl

Yes I'm still making baby layouts.     This little granddaughter is going to have a full 3D ring album
before she is two months old.      But it was my baby girl that had a baby girl and I was there in the delivery room and this little angel is so precious to me.

This is my design team entry at  "THE MEMORY NEST"  for the new sketch on March 6th.
I really liked working with it.   I had to change it up a bit from the orientation of the picture I wanted to use so my second picture is the PL style card.

I look forward to seeing how everyone else will work with this sketch.   It's a great one to use and as always there will be an awesome monthly prize so be sure and join the fun.   You have all month to play along.

I'm Growing

I have been making lots of layouts for my latest granddaughters album but today I decided to make this double page layout for my own album.    I was inspired by the March double page sketch at
"LET'S SCRAP SKETCHES"   It was perfect for the first 5 weeks of Elle's life.  On the left hand side, the picture in the circle she was 2 days old and this is when she came home from hospital, the vertical picture is here week 1 picture and then weeks 2 through 5 are all number on the right hand side.

I am also going to enter this layout in the new challenge just announced today #334 at
"LASTING MEMORIES LAYOUT CHALLENGES"   The new challenge is to 'Include a Banner' with the bonus prompt if you wanted to use it was to make a birthday layout.   Well, this is kind of that with weekly birthdays as that is all Elle has celectrateb so far.    I have that across the bottom of the both pages where I have the mini alphas on them spelling out  I Am Growing.   And she really is, I need to get back and visit for some more cuddles soon.

I love being able to combine challenges, but more importantly I love that I know that this great double page to keep for my own album.

I used all papers from the Baby Girl Mamby stack of papers.   My title I made from misc. stickers that I matted and but on a matted pink card stock.  I also double matted the vertical picture and added ink to all the edges of my papers.   The mini alphas are from October Afternoon.   My go to letters when not using Thickers.

Here are the links to the challenges and the sketch below them.

Tiny Dancer

I'm so glad I had this single picture of our granddaughter Avery,  It worked perfectly to print it 3 times and use it with the sketch at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY"   I love that shadow effect it makes.

Working with this sketch I decided to combine it with another challenge the March Tic-Tac-Toe
challenge at "SCRAP OUR STASH"   I used the bottom row,  Mini Alphas, Flair and Crate Paper,
All the paper is from the Crate Paper Heart Day collection

Here are the links to the challenges.
