TIME TOGETHER

My brother finishes up his visit to Sydney, Australia to see his daughter and two grandkids tomorrow.    This is the youngest with him, he hadn't seen him since two weeks after he was born in October 2019.   Then Covid hit and it was just last month that he was able to travel back there and spend just over 5 weeks there with everyone.

I'll be entering this layout in two challenges.   First I used Sketch #513 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME".  This was great because I always forget about all my 6x6 pads of paper and I got one pad out to use on this layout.

Next I'll enter the layout at  "LASTING MEMORIES" for their latest shape challenge - Hearts.    I have 6 miscellaneous hearts scattered around my layout as embellishments.

LM #595 - Shape Challenge - Hearts

We are back today with our third challenge of the month. Our theme for April has been - Shapes - and all of our challenges this month are to use a particular shape on your layouts. This week's challenge is:

LM #595 - Hearts - Use hearts on your layout.

Merry Christmas to You

The last couple of days I have been working on filling in some Christmas layouts from 2019 that I never got scrapped.   I had made several of my granddaughter for her album back then but not enough for the chronological Christmas layouts I do to keep for myself.    So it's been fun going back looking at the pictures and seeing what I can scrap.   I love playing with Christmas papers.

For this layout I used the new April sketch at  "SCRAP OUR STASH"   It was fun working with both triangles and adding doily circles too.   Then I finished it with some small enamel stars as embellishments around the layout.

Christmas Wheels

I love scrapping Christmas and today I pulled out an older Christmas album to see if I could fill in anywhere with more layouts.    I found that I really hadn't covered Christmas 2019 well at all so. I started working on some layouts for that Christmas.   I found just the right group of pictures to use on the layout inspired by the newest sketch #247 that came out today at  "SKETCH N SCRAP".     I'll be keeping this one, I could play around a lot with it for layouts with multiple pictures.   At this age my granddaughter loved excavators so her Uncle Bruce got this one for her for Christmas and then I think it was her Mom and Dad got her a scooter too, thus the title of my layout Christmas Wheels.

I voted

I have to admit I don't always get out to vote other than the big elections, but I made a promise to myself this year after it was easier to be out and about everywhere after Covid that I would go and vote in all elections in our town, big or small.  So last week we went out and voted.    There was the race for Mayor, and for 2 school board members and a couple of tax levies.      I didn't know yet what the the challenge at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF" was going to be yet but I knew I needed pictures of me, so I asked my hubby to take a picture of me when we got back to the car and then I took a selfie when I got in the car, so you could be sure and see my "I voted" sticker.     When I saw that challenge was to use stars on your layout, I pulled out some of my July 4th papers and put together this layout using stars on all the papers and also my alphas.    Thanks to "CHALLENGE YOURSELF" to make sure I get pictures of myself and congratulations to their 100th challenge.

Since it's this milestone challenge, we would like to see stars somewhere on your page this month! ★  And as always, please remember to include a photo with YOU somewhere on your layout.

Besides the stars in the papers I also wanted to add some circles to my layouts as embellishments to go with the circle I Voted sticker and so I could enter this layout at  "LASTING MEMORIES" for their second shape challenge of the months to use circles.     So I fussy cut some small hearts out of a scrap piece of July 4th themed paper I had in my stash to go with the red/white/blue colors.

LM #594 - Shape Challenges - Circles

For the month of April, our theme is - Shapes - and all of our challenges are to use a particular shape. This week's challenge is:

LM #594 - Circles - Use circles in some way on your layout.

Easter years ago

I've found some old pictures when I was young and several from past Easters and have had fun making layouts with them.    For this layout I am entering this layout at "USE YOUR STUFF".    I added three different types and sizes of tags on this layout.

#445 Tags

Hey everyone! Welcome to our first April challenge and this time we are all about tags!   For the next 2 weeks show us your tags. So break out your punches, dies, kits, and collections and use your stuff!  You can use pre-made tags or make your own.  We want to see all those projects.....Let's check out the DT projects!

Zoo Adventure

Elle just out and about discovering everything at the St. Louis Zoo.    Adventurous she is, so through this tunnel she went.    They had so much fun the one day of Spring Break they spent there this year.   It started off cold but ended up to be a perfect day and warm too.

I used the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at  "SCRAP OUR STASH"   I did a diagonal, Striped Paper, Butterflies and 2 photos.

Easter 1956

This is a picture of me and I recognize my Grandmothers house.   But I'm not sure what year this was.

I'm sure it was Easter because of the daffodils in the background base and that I have on gloves, hat and purse so had to be ready for the holiday.    I'm just guessing that this was about 1956 and I would have just turned 5.    My granddaughter just turned 5 and i recognize this pose and expression when I'm asking her for just one more picture and I'm sure that is what I was feeling.   LOL

I used the sketch at  "LET'S GET SKETCHY" to make this.  I thought it was going to be tricky, but I'm so glad I went for it.

SLOTH

I just love these pictures of the entire family holding a sloth and that close-up of the two sloths, how cute is that.

These were perfect for the April double page sketch at   "STICK IT DOWN".

Set Sail

Another layout of our son and family on their Spring Break Cruise.   These pictures are all from on board the ship.      I used Sketch #151 at  "SKETCHES IN THYME"   for this layout.

Golf Time

Our St. Louis family did a cruise over Spring Break so I've been working on the pictures they shared to make layouts for them.   Her is Dad and two of the 3 grandkids playing mini-golf on board the ship.    They made sure to have lots of fun on board and on their excursions too.

I used "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOGSPOT" April sketch for this layout.

Always Time for Chess

Our two grandkids love to play chess all the time.   In fact our grandson is going to Nationals with the group he is in.

I used the April sketch at "SKETCH N SCRAP" for this layout.

So Nice to Meet You

This was totally different design than anything I've ever done before, but it sure was fun.   This was the perfect layout for the first challenge of April at  "LASTING MEMORIES"   Challenge #593 - Shapes -Triangles.  Plus the bonus of getting to use so many little scraps I had been hoarding.    You sure can't complain about that when that happens.

LM #593 - Shape Challenges - Triangles

Hello, everyone, and Happy April! We are finally starting to see more warm days than cold here in the middle of the US and that makes me so happy!

The new month means that we have a new theme and a new set of challenges for you to play along with. This month DT member Maureen is challenging us to use a particular shape on our layouts each week. Our first shape challenge for April is:

LM #593 - Triangles - Use triangles in some way on your layout.
