Hello card

This was such a unique sketch I found at   "Cas(E) this Sketch"      It's their challenge #130.

I colored this teddy bear image and found the perfect background paper in my stash of scraps to go with the colors of the teddy bear.   Some pink alpha stickers for the sentiment and it was complete.

July 4

I went to work on this layout last night.   Pictures taken from the day before while visiting family in St. Louis.    We had a family July 4th BBQ with chicken and corn on the cob and salads and this great cake that Nikki made.  

I used the "Grand Divs'a Creative Corner" sketch as my starting point for the layout.   I loved this sketch and chance to put different patterned papers together.  
Then combined it with the color challenge at "Creating with Paper & More"  I have the red, dark blue, in all my patterned papers,  the  tan  is in my tag on the layout and the pale blue is in my brads I used (there are 6 of them).
Also for the trifecta I played along with the tic-tac-toe challenge at "Through the Eyes of Rochelle Spears" blog  I used the middle vertical row of Brads, Stars, & Stripes.  The stars and the stripes are in my paper choses and then I used 7 brads, the star brad on my tag and then 6 other pale blue brads, one in center of pics, 4 around the journal strips and one by title. So this layout will cover all the Rochelle Spears and Scrappy Friends challenges.

Then I'm also going to enter my layout at "Frosted Designs"  their Friday challenge was Red, White & Blue with a twist.   The twist is something old and new.   My old is all my papers.  I have had them all for well over 3 years.  The new is the tan tag at top of layout that I made for a swap I'm in in July and also used a new technique for me, which I've only done recently before.  I inked the edges of the 12x12 background paper.  I like this for card stock background papers or patterned papers without a lot of color in them.

Christmas in July

I'm participating in Christmas in July in two different yahoo scrapping groups.   We have a new prompt everyday to work with.   These are a couple of my favorite one cards this last wee.
First one was to use non-traditional colors (no red or green) and the 2nd one was for the snow challenge.   Plus this one also worked for our month card challenge in one of the groups.  There is always a bonus card to make, its always a Christmas card with a prompt and for July it was to use only silver/blue/white on your card.

I'm also going to enter these two cards at the "Use Your Stuff" challenge blog.   They have started a break for the summer so challenge #200 that is open for the summer is anything goes. and you can enter multiple times.

Rainy Day -- 7/3/15 Scrap Much?! double page reveal

I'm so glad my daughter-in-law loves to take pictures and she always gets the best pictures of the kids.   We were there with them Mothers Day weekend and got in town right after a rainstorm.
Nikki had taken the kids out in the rain and got some awesome pictures of all of them.     I was glad to have this double page sketch from  "Scrap Much?!"  to work with and get these 3 pictures scrapped together.   I dug through my stash of swap goodies and found these awesome ones to go with the rainy day theme.  I'm so glad I'm a scrapbooking hoarder and had these embellishments waiting to use for just the perfect layout theme.    I decided to just use a solid card stock background and let my pictures and rainy day embellishments be the showcase.

Model

I'm entering this layout at challenge #23 at "1-2-3 Get Scrappy" for the June tic-tac-toe challenge.

Here were my choices on the tic-tac-toe board

I used the left vertical column,  Scalloped Edge, Polka Dots, Camera.    So that is all I had and the picture I knew I would use.    I pulled out 2 pieces of 6x6 polka dot paper to start and went from there.  First I thought of a yellow background, but didn't look great, so decided to pull colors from Addison's dress, since I was going to journal about the dress.    So light blue card stock background and pink card stock to punch my scalloped border.  Put it all together and embellishments of 3 flowers with the colors in the dress, 2 wood veneer cameras, my title & some dark pink bling (every model needs some bling)    My title "Model" is because this was a dress that Nikki made for her and she always loves to "model" the new dresses Mom makes and have her picture taken in them with a big smile.

My Buddy

I tried to keep this simple and just pull the colors from the background patterned paper and let the colors be the key and one one simple picture to go with it that shows what the title and the words in the background paper talk about.   But then I found this cute dog shaker in my stash I had saved from a swap so had to add that as my main embellishment, so I added a few wood veneer pieces to go with the brown colors of the shaker.

For this layout I used the June sketch at "My Creative Sketches"   When I first saw the sketch I thought I might do tow pictures or possibly even three but I started working with this single picture and really glad I stayed with just the one.  I love to mat things so I double matted the picture and the other color rectangles.  I was going to double mat my strips at the top and didn't realize I hadn't till I had it all glued down and put the wood hearts on them.  Oh well, all good.

ARCHES NATIONAL PARK --- Let's Scrap DT Reveal 7-1-15

We took a road trip starting the end of March and were gone for 8 days.   Drove over 3200 miles from Kansas City to Las Vegas and back and had many sightseeing stops.    This was our first big stop at Arches National Park in Moab, UT.   All I can say is BEAUTIFUL !!!.   If you ever get the chance to go here, don't pass it up.   It's a beautiful drive through the park, with many places to pull off and park and get out and walk and see the beauty.
