Christmas 2007

I'm still working on old Christmas pictures I found, these are from 2007.   I took my Grandson home with me to feed our kitten and we got to hang out together some and give Mom and Dad some free time.    He was such a cutie and fast forward to present time, yesterday he turned 19 years old.   He was 17 months old here.

I'm still working with the July challenges at "LASTING MEMORIES"  this is for challenge #760 and my favorite brand.    I used all Echo Park papers here from a collection call Home For Christmas.   Echo Park has been my go to paper lately and I buy the majority of my papers from them.

Christmas Dinner Prep

I just posted another layout I made today from photos I found from Christmas 2005 for a challenge at   "LASTING MEMORIES"  and then I made this second layout with the old holiday photos I had found to use with their challenge #759.  Favorite embellishments, my favorite embellishments lately have been wood veneer.   I've always liked them and then I found Temu and you couldn't beat the price there so I have stocked up with so many fun wood veneer pieces   So for this layout my title and all embellishments are wood veneer.

(Oh as I was getting ready to publish this post, I saw that I had written with my white gel pen Dinner Prep 2025 above one picture, it was easy to go back and correct it read 2005.  But I didn't take a new picture)

LM #759 - Jill's Favorites: Embellishments

Hello, everyone. Hope you are enjoying your summer - or winter for our southern hemisphere friends - and are finding some time to scrapbook! This is Jill, and I thought it would be fun to focus on a few of our favorite things this month.

LM #759 - Are die cuts your go-to or do you love enamel dots? Use whatever embellishments are your favorite in this challenge!

Christmas 2005

The last week or so  I was looking through some boxes of old photos trying to find a certain one.  In one I found clipped together some groups of old Christmas photos so I set them aside to use them.   I keep all my Christmas layouts in Chronological order in Red 3 ring albums.  I have a whole shelf plus of them now full.   So today I pulled out the album that had 2005 layouts in it to look to see if I had already used any of the pictures I had found.   Only one had been used before.   I must have planned on using these as I had printed them myself back in the day 3x4 size.    I knew I wanted to use the challenge # 758 to scrap your favorite holiday at  "LASTING MEMORIES"    It's obvious I love Christmas and scrapping Christmas with as many albums I have of the holidays.

LM #758 - Jills Favorites: Holidays

Greetings, scrappers, and thanks for joining us once again at Lasting Memories. This is Jill, and I thought it would be fun to focus on a few of our favorite things this month!

LM #758 - Showcase your favorite holiday - Christmas in July or the 4th of July or any other holiday as your theme.

Presents

I'm adding this layout to the "LASTING MEMORIES" first challenge for July.    One of my favorite tools to use is my White Gel Pen.   I feel journaling in white whenever I can  because I think it makes the words really pop off the page.

LM #757 - Jill's Favorites: Tools

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new month of challenges here at Lasting Memories. This is Jill, and I thought it would be fun to focus on a few of our favorite things this month!

LM #757 - use your favorite die cutter, stencils, cutting device, pens/marker - whatever is your go-to tool.

Cherry Picking

I got this picture over the weekend when we went to the neighbors house to pick cherries from their tree in the front yard that was so full of cherries.    We got all of these and the tree looked like it hadn't been touched.   Cherry pie will be coming today.

I used the   "LASTING MEMORIES"  Challenge #755  -  Size It Up Challenge #3

LM #755 - Size It Up - Challenge 3

Treasured Moments

I made this layout using the June Sketch at "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG" and then I added the tic-tac-toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY".     It took me awhile to decide what picture I wanted to use as a circle photo, but I'm really happy how this layout turned out.    This was a last minute photo I got with my daughter after we had finished our outing for a Mother's Day Brunch this year.

Here is the sketch.    Thants for the push to find just the right circle photo to use. "ROCHELLE SPEARS"

Then here is the tic-tac-toe board.  I did the middle row  Ink Splatter/Spray; Circle; Fishtail Banner.    Again this was a stretch for me to do the ink splatter/spray, but I'm so glad I did because I really love this look this time.  "SCRAP WITH STACY".

Life in the Rainforest.

I took these pictures in the Rainforest Pyramid at Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX, when we stayed there during a road trip for a National Mustang Road trip.   We explored the pyramids during one of our days off from car shows and such.

Here are some general guidelines:
• Rectangular strips can be border punched, turned into banners or tags.
• Larger rectangles, circles or squares should be left whole.
• If you'd like to do a double page, use all of the required pieces on one page and then duplicate only those you want on the 2nd page.

George H.W. Bush Library

We stopped at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library last month coming home from our road trip to Galveston, TX.  We didn't know if we would have the extra time, but by getting away from Galveston earlier than expected this stop worked out perfectly for us.    I'm so glad we made the stop because I really like visiting any Presidential Library that I have a chance to go to.

I went with the patriotic theme and colors for this layout because I thought they would work perfectly and then work for the Mood Board Challenge #138 at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF"   I only got a couple of pictures taken of me there so I used them both here.  One sitting by a sculpture of Bush and then in the replica of the Situation Room.

Shrimp

I made another layout today using today's "LASTING MEMORIES" #752 Tic-Tac-Toe Board.

It worked out that I actually worked for tic-tac-toe lines.   First I was going for the top row across with 2+ papers, twine or ribbon and Tag.    Then with the addition of 6 rhinestones (on ribbon and on the tags) that works for the right side column,  Tag, Enamel Dots or Rhinestones and Blue

BRRRR

I used the sketch at for challenge May Birthday Bash Sketch #3 at "SKETCH N SCRAP"

Then I applied the "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #751  Tic-Tac-Toe Board challenge.

I used the bottom row  Hexagons, Stickers (snow flakes), Washi Tape (two different ones, thin strips vertical at the edge of center papers.

Family Dinner Out

I don't have a lot of pictures of both of us together where Arthur has a true smile.   He just doesn't like having his picture taken.   So I really like this picture.  We were out to a nice dinner out with his two kids last December when they both came to visit us together in Columbia.  So we celebrated with a dinner out at CC's Broiler, our favorite special restaurant here in town.

This was the perfect picture for me to use this month at "SCRAP-CHALLENGE-YOURSELF" challenge #137-Butterflies.    I have wood veneer butterflies added as embellishments and I also have butterflies on one of the patterned papers that I used.

When making this layout, I chose to use the sketch at "SKETCHES IN THYME" the May 1st sketch this month.

Dinner at Cheddars

I love the SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF monthly prompts and somehow I almost missed making a layout this month.   But with a day to spare I got my layout made.   The challenge was to use Scallops so I got out this punch and started punching my scallops for the layout.

Holiday Magic

I made this layout using the double page sketch from "LASTING MEMORIES" challenge #745.                It was absolutely perfect with all the photos to use from our trip to the Gingerbread House in Columbia, MO.    This house decorates like this every year and let people walk all around their house all evening long to see and enjoy all the decorating they have done.     They were nominated to be in ABC tv show The Great Christmas Light Fight this year.   They didn't win, but it was still fun to know someplace I have been was in the show.    I have gone 3 years now, first year by myself, the next year I took my granddaughter and her family for the first time for them and this year we had 16 people in town for Christmas, both my kids and their spouses and 3 grandkids and one mother-in-law and then my brother who lives in town too, had his two kids and spouses and 2 grandkids all from Australia.   So we took the trek together to visit the house and it was so much fun for everyone.

Here is the sketch that I used.

Looking Beautiful

I made this layout using the Scrappy Friends challenges for April.   I used this great sketch from      "ROCHELLE SPEARS"   and then the tic-tac- toe board at "SCRAP WITH STACY"    I went on the diagonal for my tic-tac-toe Gold, Circles and Ink (red on some edges and blue on other edges, the paper and the matted photos and the circles.

They always have great monthly challenges so be sure and check them both out and join the fun.

Dance and Sleep

This sketch for challenge #744 at "LASTING MEMORIES" was perfect for these pictures I wanted to scrap of my granddaughter at a wedding in New York for her Dads cousin.    Before she left she told me she wasn't going to dance at the reception but the pictures they took told me she changed her mind and danced the night away and then crashed in the car on the way home.

EASTER 2023

This is my layout for the March 2025 Scrappy Friends Double Challenge.   I've used these pictures before for a layout for my granddaughters scrapbook but I'm a few years  behind on my chronological Easter scrapbook that I keep.  So I printed the pictures again and used them today using the March sketch at "ROCHELLE SPEARS".   Then for Tic-Tac-Toe at "SCRAPPING WITH STACY"  I went with the middle row across,  Twine, Tag and Wood.

This was a dinner I had earlier this week with my girlfriend on our trip to St. Louis.  We found a new place to eat and it was fantastic.

I made this layout using a sketch from SKETCH & SCRAP  and then the challenge for this March at "SCRAP CHALLENGE YOURSELF"    I have bling all around my layout.

Made this layout with the "LASTING MEMORIES"  Challenge #740 in mind.    I cut out a piece of Christmas patterned paper into a circle for my journaling.

Party's Over

On the tram at DFW to go to our gate to catch our flight back to Columbia after a long weekend in  Fort Worth for Kai's high school graduation.   It was so fun with the whole family being together and the cousins getting to hang out together.  Even though they are 17, 14 and 7 at the time they still are great together and have so much fun.   Elle didn't want to leave them.

This layout is for "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #739.

LM #739 - create a layout using a band design.

Band Design is a clean vertical band foundation, a wide and centered band foundation, a curving band foundation or a band along the page edge. Here is an example.
