Hi, I'm Barbara and the Guest Designer for September and here is my layout for the first challenge for the month at "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #766 to use Polka Dots on your layout.
Hi, I'm Barbara and the Guest Designer for September and here is my layout for the first challenge for the month at "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #766 to use Polka Dots on your layout.
I used the August prompt at "SCRAP YOURSELF" to use a stencil on your layout and of course a picture of yourself. My title Ahoy and the birds above and waves below were done with a stencil.
LM #762 - create your layout using one, two or all of these items:
I used the sketch for August from "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG" for this layout, got to use up a lot of small scrap pieces of paper, everything but my background paper.
I then combined it with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY" for August. I actually got three tic-tac-toes, diagonal top left to bottom right 4 or more patterned papers, circle and wood, then the diagonal bottom left to top right, 2 photos, circle and plaid and finally left column down, 4 or more patterned papers, tag, 2 photos.
My favorite thing is Road Trips and Cruises. Cruises I do with my husband, but Road Trips are usually with my brother, this is one we took in April to Galveston for a National Mustang event.
I'm still working on old Christmas pictures I found, these are from 2007. I took my Grandson home with me to feed our kitten and we got to hang out together some and give Mom and Dad some free time. He was such a cutie and fast forward to present time, yesterday he turned 19 years old. He was 17 months old here.
I'm still working with the July challenges at "LASTING MEMORIES" this is for challenge #760 and my favorite brand. I used all Echo Park papers here from a collection call Home For Christmas. Echo Park has been my go to paper lately and I buy the majority of my papers from them.
(Oh as I was getting ready to publish this post, I saw that I had written with my white gel pen Dinner Prep 2025 above one picture, it was easy to go back and correct it read 2005. But I didn't take a new picture)
The last week or so I was looking through some boxes of old photos trying to find a certain one. In one I found clipped together some groups of old Christmas photos so I set them aside to use them. I keep all my Christmas layouts in Chronological order in Red 3 ring albums. I have a whole shelf plus of them now full. So today I pulled out the album that had 2005 layouts in it to look to see if I had already used any of the pictures I had found. Only one had been used before. I must have planned on using these as I had printed them myself back in the day 3x4 size. I knew I wanted to use the challenge # 758 to scrap your favorite holiday at "LASTING MEMORIES" It's obvious I love Christmas and scrapping Christmas with as many albums I have of the holidays.
I'm adding this layout to the "LASTING MEMORIES" first challenge for July. One of my favorite tools to use is my White Gel Pen. I feel journaling in white whenever I can because I think it makes the words really pop off the page.
This set of pictures worked out perfectly for the SCRAPPY FRIENDS CHALLENGE this month.
I used the sketch from "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOGSPOT"
Then I used the tic-tac-toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY" I used the diagonal: Ephemera, Tag and Twine/Ribbon.
I got this picture over the weekend when we went to the neighbors house to pick cherries from their tree in the front yard that was so full of cherries. We got all of these and the tree looked like it hadn't been touched. Cherry pie will be coming today.
I used the "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #755 - Size It Up Challenge #3
I made this layout using the June Sketch at "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG" and then I added the tic-tac-toe challenge at "SCRAP WITH STACY". It took me awhile to decide what picture I wanted to use as a circle photo, but I'm really happy how this layout turned out. This was a last minute photo I got with my daughter after we had finished our outing for a Mother's Day Brunch this year.
Here is the sketch. Thants for the push to find just the right circle photo to use. "ROCHELLE SPEARS"
Then here is the tic-tac-toe board. I did the middle row Ink Splatter/Spray; Circle; Fishtail Banner. Again this was a stretch for me to do the ink splatter/spray, but I'm so glad I did because I really love this look this time. "SCRAP WITH STACY".
I took these pictures in the Rainforest Pyramid at Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX, when we stayed there during a road trip for a National Mustang Road trip. We explored the pyramids during one of our days off from car shows and such.
I used the Size it Up Challenge #2 at "LASTING MEMORIES" The 1x3 pieces I matted and then used for my journaling blocks.
We stopped at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library last month coming home from our road trip to Galveston, TX. We didn't know if we would have the extra time, but by getting away from Galveston earlier than expected this stop worked out perfectly for us. I'm so glad we made the stop because I really like visiting any Presidential Library that I have a chance to go to.
I went with the patriotic theme and colors for this layout because I thought they would work perfectly and then work for the Mood Board Challenge #138 at "CHALLENGE YOURSELF" I only got a couple of pictures taken of me there so I used them both here. One sitting by a sculpture of Bush and then in the replica of the Situation Room.
I used the paper size requirements for Challenge #753 at "LASTING MEMORIES".
Good morning, and welcome to a brand new month of challenges here at Lasting Memories. We are going to get started on the first day with our new theme, so buckle up - here we go!
Let's have fun with papers this month! Incorporate one of each size paper onto your layout.
It worked out that I actually worked for tic-tac-toe lines. First I was going for the top row across with 2+ papers, twine or ribbon and Tag. Then with the addition of 6 rhinestones (on ribbon and on the tags) that works for the right side column, Tag, Enamel Dots or Rhinestones and Blue
I used the sketch at for challenge May Birthday Bash Sketch #3 at "SKETCH N SCRAP"
Then I applied the "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #751 Tic-Tac-Toe Board challenge.
I used the bottom row Hexagons, Stickers (snow flakes), Washi Tape (two different ones, thin strips vertical at the edge of center papers.
I used the Tic-Tac-Toe Board at "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #750 for this layout of my granddaughter Mylan and some of her friends at the year end Theatre Club banquet.
I used the top row across, Lace, 3+ photos and flowers.
I made this layout with the "LASTING MEMORIES" Challenge #749 --- Tic-Tac-Toe Board. I did the middle column down. 2 Photos, Doily and Fussy Cut. I fussy cut the round pictures and the round matting around them.

This was the perfect picture for me to use this month at "SCRAP-CHALLENGE-YOURSELF" challenge #137-Butterflies. I have wood veneer butterflies added as embellishments and I also have butterflies on one of the patterned papers that I used.
When making this layout, I chose to use the sketch at "SKETCHES IN THYME" the May 1st sketch this month.
I made this layout for the SCRAPPY FRIENDS May double challenge. I started with the May sketch at "ROCHELLE SPEARS BLOG" and then the Tic-Tac-Toe board with "SCRAP WITH STACY"
Here's the sketch.
Here's the Tic-Tac-Toe board. I did the diagonal 3 Photos, Wood Grain & Chipboard.
Here is the sketch that I used.
I made this layout using the Scrappy Friends challenges for April. I used this great sketch from "ROCHELLE SPEARS" and then the tic-tac- toe board at "SCRAP WITH STACY" I went on the diagonal for my tic-tac-toe Gold, Circles and Ink (red on some edges and blue on other edges, the paper and the matted photos and the circles.
